Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Also, you might check to see if restrictions are on (and the camera turned off): Settings app > General > Restrictions.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

You would have to reinstall the OS using the Recovery Volume.
Try running the combo update.

If that doesn't work,try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser feature in Firefox 4, you can turn it off like this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it will turn bold).
Then return to your work site and reload the page.
Does that make any difference? If so, you can leave it that way. If not, you might as well switch it back (double-click that preference again to toggle it back to true.)
If not, and you need to roll back, here's the process:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

Try following steps and test one at a time:
1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:

It appears you are going to need to reinstall Pages from the original source. Somehow it has lost some vital components.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

All you need to do to solve this problem is to hold down the lock and home buttons at the same time and count slowly to 15. That's called a hard reset and it should reboot the phone out of the black screen funk. Give it a try - it should work. If it doesn't, bring it to the Apple Store. Good luck!

10.6.8 is indeed the last, current version of Snow Leopard.
10.7.x is the absolutely wacky, buggy, dumbed-down Lion Operating System that's geared toward mimicking the iPad and other Apple mobile devices. I would not recommend Lion at all to anyone who can still run Snow Leopard.
Chris Cox can confirm that Adobe still has a bunch of bugs open with Apple against Lion.

Until About the time Lion was released you could download a demo of iWork and then purchase a serial number to turn the demo into the full version or you could buy the boxed version that required no serial number. This was confusing enough. Then apple added the App store versions and eliminated the previous two purchasing methods. That has added more confusion and problems.

After upgrading to Firefox 4.0.1, it no longer will open external links - anything from emails, IMs, databases won't open - how can I fix this?

No links from external programs will open - this is usually kind of ok since I can cut and paste, but some links from databases don't provide copy-able links, meaning I cannot access information via Firefox.

When I click a link that goes to a "gif" file/page, it won't open; how do I fix this?

Ever since I've used Firefox, when I click on certain links, and the tab shows "gif", the page is blank. This happens with all kinds of web sites: in TripAdvisor when trying to access certain hotel web pages. Just today when on Delta, as I tried to click and access the store links in their SkyMiles shopping program (like Bloomingdales!).
Here is the tab info from the Delta example: " click (GIF Image, 1x1 pixels)" Some variation of this appears with a blank page. It's frustrating, as these are not suspicious sites! Also I just got Windows 7, so it's happened with both XP and Win-7. What can I do to prevent this and get to the site I want?

When you press and hold the sleep/wake button on the side of the iPad does anything happen at all? Anything show up on the screen?
Also try the first thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
