Hello my wife and I have had our canon mx712 for a couple years and now we have the uo52 wrong printhead error message. We did love our canon until this. It's been outta commission for a couple weeks now and we need a printer desperately. We would love to get a new one from canon but can't afford to get one. Can you please help us the same way you helped zanne1950 on this site by giving us a new printer? We were recommending canon to everybody we know including business people but we won't recommend them anymore if we don't get satisfaction. PLEASE HELP US CANON!!

Hi, and thanks for you interest. The problems is that whether I'm using iMovie or FCE I get to a stage where the thumbnail image is present but if you try to play, import or any other action in either app it closes down and a message comes up " The Application Final Cut Express/iMovie quit unexpectedly - Mac OS X and other application are not affected" then asks if I wish to relaunch. I then hit the report to Apple button and afterwards relaunch. I was recommended to use Voltaic which I have tried, it worked but is to much mucking about for something that should work out of the box.
This problem happens on both the iMAC and the MacBook so quite sure it's not a OS software issue. All software update are up to date also.
Any ideas?

How does one fix the U052 wrong printer head problem? I have cleaned the heads, and yet the alarm light is on, and the printer will not do anything. This is costimg me time and money big time. My brother never syncs either and that's not good. Should sync often if not every day. So, given that, as far as your apps go, did you remove any apps over the last year and you just forgot? If so, when you synced with your computer it simply deleted the apps from your phone. Not being snide just a thought.

Open the APP store and download Mavericks.
You didnt buy a "clearance" item, you just got an Air that was there at the shop before Mavericks was released.
There is no difference other than a 40 min. download.

From reading on the internet, it appears that when there is a spike in memory usage, AVG "interprets" that as a memory leak, possibly caused by malware. AVG could be incorrect concerning that assumption. Maybe they are being a bit too conservative about memory usage; just my opinion.
The decision is yours to turn off the "advisor" or leave it on.

Macmail no longer has the option to delete messages off the server

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my macmail (6.2) no longer has the option to delete messages off the server in preferences / advanced settings.
I recently had troubles with the mailbox quota being full (ie everything stored on the server) and don't want to go in and manually delete things.
The research I've done suggests it should be as easy as checking or unchecking a box, however it's not there where it should be .
Help please!

Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Mailbox Behaviors. Set the Trash section to move deleted messages to the Trash Mailbox, and then to Store the deleted messages on the Server. Select how often you want deleted messages to be permanently removed from the server.
Also, if you have stuff in the Trash, and you select some or all of it, and then go to Edit>Delete, it will ask you at that time if you want to delete it from the Server or just the Mac.

Why do you need to re-install? Try to fix the problem.
I would assume a 10.2 full install would be fairly cheap on ebay.

The built-in microphones on the camcorder are fairly similar. When you're recording music, we recommend the use of an external microphone.
The mic you use really depends on what you're recording and where.
So we may better assist you, please provide a bit of information regarding the type of recordings you'll be making, the music and the setting (i.e. what kind of venue, your distance to the music, etc).

I have heard that the logic board replacement program for MacBooks Pro with the failed NVidia 8600M GT chip has been extended from 3 to 4 years after the date of original purchase. HELP: My MacBook was on sleep mood then would not reboot, eventually it did and i has the sleep mood light flashing 3 times and like a siren noise going off .

I used my MacBook yesterday and left it on sleep mode as usual. The battery had drained during the night. So I plugged in the charger and it started up as normal. Then a notice came up saying shut down using the power button as an unexpected error had occurred. I done as it asked then I could not reboot or turn on at all. It felt like a power surge was going through the laptop. I eventually got it turned on and sent the report off to apple. The screen kept flickering so I turned it back off and took the battery out and tried to turn on again. This then proceeded to make the sleep light blink 3 times and then there was a siren sounding noise and a blank screen, I turn it off and now I have managed to reboot and all seem to be working fine. I am really worried as I love my MacBook and cant afford to replace it.

Go to Utilities > Disk Utility > Repair Disk & Repair Permissions
Also put in your extra Applications Install DVD

Macbook screen not working, now it is, even after the service centre told me it needed replaceing, what gives?

My son's Macbook was taken to the local Mac service centre as the screen had suddenly gone blank.
I was told that the screen needed to be replaced.
This evenimng my son opend it up and hay it's working again.
Could anyone tell me if the Service centre has been pulling my chain or was it just a loose conection after all?

I think you're being somewhat unfair. The repair guy can only give a diagnosis from the information he has available at the time, which was a completely dead screen. The screen springing back to life is new information he didn't have.
I can't comment on the $115 charge. As with car repairs, it's always cheaper to do your own, but laptops are at least 10 times more difficult to repair than desktops. I'm happy to dive inside a desktop computer but I've always left laptops to the professionals. I'll also add that I always buy the extended warranty for a laptop.

About:config does show some default values but I need the source from which about:config picks up the default value.
Any help in this direction is greatly appreciated.
