My CD will not eject, tried holding down the trackpad and restarting still won't eject.
My cd will not eject. I tried restarting my Mac while holding down the trackpad, still it will not eject. I hear it try to open but nothing happens.
If you have a Retina model then you don't have a built in Superdrive, it would be external. As far as I know the holding down of the trackpad to Force Eject a CD/DVD disc from the drive only works on models that have built in CD/DVD drives. So you'll need to take ther drive apart to get the disc out.
More than likely your external Superdrive has failed in some way, like the moter that is used to take in and eject the disc has failed.
In the future buy a new DVD drive that is a tray load design. Any brand will work with your Mac. It does not have to have the Apple name on it to work properly on any Mac computer.

My iphone died & I plugged it back in to charge when it powered on the screen remained black. I can hear when I receive a text and siri. I have tried holding down the sleep and home button and restoring in itunes neither worked. The screen on the phone is cracked but has been working fine until now. Please help!!!
Here's how to perform the restore:
HT1414
If you can actually get to restore, maybe (I estimate a 0.01% chance) you'll be able to do a backup before the restore. Actually, from the symptoms you describe, I suspect a restore won't work either and you'll need to do a recovery.
Just in case, if you need to recover (restore fails), here's how. Note you may have to try to get into recovery mode more than once.

We were going by your post. 'What can i do to use this phone"...
No offense intended, it's just that we see thousands of posts where people have different reasons for trying to use a stolen or lost device. -
My iPad2 3G won't connect to 3G. It used to (bought Nov 2011) but hasn't for a couple weeks. The AT&T account is current. I've tried turning off the wifi but it still won't connect to 3G. Any ideas?
Have you tried using it in a different location; say in the town center.
Also try a Reset. -
i dont know how to fix this help
Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
- Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear. (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
- Relaunch the App and try again.
- Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
- Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
- Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
- Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
- Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
- Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem. -

How do I reset my iPad when it does not respond to holding down on the on/off button. It went to the Apple icon and is frozen there.

Please help.
You need to hold down the two buttons for at least 30 secs. This should shut the device down, ready for a reboot start.

Will not start wile holding down the C key
I wanted to run some tests on my system. So I ran the Hardware Test that came with the computer. Everything passed. When I go to do the Disk Utilities I get the dark grey screen with the message "You need to restart your computer....."
Any other ways besides the C key to try to start from the disk?
Thank youHi-
Any other ways besides the C key to try to start from the disk?
Insert the disk into the drive, and start while holding the Option key.
When the Startup Manager window loads, you should be given some icons representing the startup volumes available, including the OS install disc.
Select the appropriate icon, and then click the right arrow. The machine should boot to the selected volume.
If the desired boot volume does not show, press the "circular" arrow to refresh.
If you are having trouble booting, make sure you are using an Apple wired keyboard, plugged directly to the towers USB port, not through a hub or PCI card. Also, inspect the cable for kinks.
When I go to do the Disk Utilities I get the dark grey screen with the message "You need to restart your computer....."
This is a kernel panic.
Is this from the Disk Utility in the Applications folder of the System Drive, or, from the Utilities menu of the install disc?
If you are having startup disk problems, you might try a Safe Mode boot (hold Shift while starting). This forces a check of the system drive, and allows for repair, should it be necessary.
Safe mode boot takes longer than a normal boot, so be patient. -
Anyone have ideas for how to get an Ipod touch restarted if it hasn't been used for a couple of weeks. I have held down the on/off button and the home button and nothing seems to work. Also does not turn on after being plugged in.

I dropped my phone last night, already with a little glass missing at the top. The screen is black with blue vertical lines, I cant even see my home screen I've tried holding the home and power button. Someome help?
It's broken. Take it to Apple.
-
My phone literally just stopped working through the day it had about 80% charge so it wasn't dead, never dropped it or damaged it in anyway.
Things to try: Press power button for 5-10 seconds to see if it responds. If not, try connecting to your computer and see if it wakes up and itunes recognizes it. Last thing would be to try to charge it for a while to see if it wakes back up. Possibly have defective battery. Your last resort is then to take it to apple store to see if they can wake it up.

how do i fix it?
What was the exact wording of the error message? Usually a number or other information is provided in addition to just saying unknown error.

My 4s is locked on the iCloud back up screen. It will not reset by holding down the power button. Please help!
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
