What I had to was backup my device's data to either iCloud or iTunes. Once it was backed up I erased all of my settings as if my iPad just came out of the box. You set it up again and it will asked you to either start as new, back up from iTunes, or back up from ICloud. If you want to see if everything works you can set up as new, otherwise just pick the choice depending on where you backed up your information. Eventually it will restore all of your information and your iMessage and FaceTime should be working. It worked for me, if you'd like more/better instructions let me know!!

1. Open a stock application like Calendar, Weather or Youtube
2. Hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" control appears
3. As soon as you see it, press the Home button and keep it pressed until the red slider disappears and the app is forced quit to the Home menu

You might also have to enter recovery mode. You do this by plugging the iPod touch into a computer then hold down the power button for about 5 seconds until you see the red slider button to power it off, slide to power off the iPod touch. Then press and hold both the power button and the home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release the power button but keep holding in the home button. Hold the home button in until you see the iTunes logo on the iPod touch, then let go of it. You can then restore your iPod using any computer but keep in mind that you will lose everything.
To my knowledge, this should work for password protected iPod touch's and it is the only way to unlock your iPod touch without plugging it into the first computer.

it might be a malfunction in your device. you might ave to send it to repairation
1.ave you try resetting it or restoring it?

If the iTunes purchases are not in your iTunes library you can redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you restore from backup, not that synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup and thus if those items are not in the iTunes library they can't be restored to the iPod during the latter part of the restore process.

Next would be to restore to factory settings/new iPod since maybe you have some corruption in the backup

My Ipod 4th generation is not working. I do not know what happened. I was on it and then the screen turned like a black that was glowing. I pressed the home button and then it still wasnt working so I let it sit. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Lost iPod 3rd generations lock screen password, What do I do?

My cousin let his friend use his ipod (3rd Gen) and he locked the screen and everything and he wont give me the password. What do i do to fix this. And i dont want to erase any of his music,movies, and stuff.

Connect the iPod to the computer you normally use it with (the first one that the iPod synced with) and open iTunes. Then disconnect the iPod from the computer and it should no longer be locked.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to restore it.

I was listening to my iPod in the car, and right after i watched a music video, it stopped working!! First, i couldn't see the album artwork on the coverflow, and then, when a watched a video, nothing happened. I listened to a song, but it didn't work! I turned it off for a while and still it didn't work. My guess is that my earphones had something to do with it, because when i got home, only one side was working!! I need help ASAP!!!!!! I have an iPod 3rd generation 64gb that I was listening to this afternoon walking my dogs and it suddenly stopped playing. I pulled it out of my pocket and it was responding to anything I did to it. The screen is black with nothing displaying on it.

I tried restarting my iPod by holding the on/off button and the home button for 30 or more seconds and nothing happened. I tried shaking it, connested it to my laptop and it doesn't even show up in iTunes. How long does the battery last in an iPod? Is there anything else I should try to do to get my iPod back being functional?

IPod 3rd Generation Nano not being read on iTunes

Hey can someone help me out with what I should do? My ipod is being read by windows but not by itunes, it worked on my girlfriends computer when i took it to her house on christmas after noon, but wouldn't work at my house in the morning or the late evening. if anyone knows what the problem might be please help. it will br greatly appreciated.
