My CF card won't dock on my macbook

i curently have a late 2008 macbook running 10.9.4 os x mavericks.
my issue is that i cannot seem to dock my 8 GB monster digital compact flash card using a generic brand adapter via usb. my computer will not recognize the 8GB CF card, but it will recognize my 2GB mini SD card. ive also tried connecting my galaxy s4 without success. although it will charge it. is this a problem with conflicting software or a hardware issue? if i left anything out, let me know.
Thank You,
Nick

  • My Sandisk 8gb card won't download into my MacBook pro. It was working perfectly 24hrs ago. Any ideas out there?

How can this be? As I have changed nothing in my mac. It's so frustrating, can anyone suggest what to do?

I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

My iTunes card won't redeem and when I try to it comes up with this "The gift certificate or prepaid card code you entered has not been properly activated. Please contact iTunes Store costumer support for assistance" can anyone help me?

Is the store that you bought the card from nearby so that you can try going back and asking if they can activate the card properly ? If it's not, or if they can't/won't activate, then you will need to do as the message says and contact iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt)

  • Lexar 1 GB CF Card won't work in SanDisk SDDR-80

Anyone have any thoughts on why my Lexar 1 GB CF card won’t mount when used in my SanDisk Firewire Imagemate CompactFlash Card Reader (model SDDR-80)?
The card works fine in my USB1 SanDisk CF reader. The card also works fine using a PC card adapter on my PowerBook. It will not mount on either my PowerBook or G5 using the firewire reader, but the firewire reader does work with SanDisk 512 MB cards. I am running Mac OS 10.4.3 on both the PowerMac G5 and PowerBook G4.
I’ve searched google, Apple Discussions and SanDisk’s support site and can’t seem to find anything relevant, but it is hard to get past all the stores on google.
It appears that the OS doesn’t recognize the card in any way. Even when I pull the card out of the reader, I don’t get an error message that the disc wasn’t ejected properly. I’ve tried plugging in the reader with the card already in it, and I’ve tried plugging in the reader and then inserting the card. I do believe that I have seen the Lexar card/SanDisk reader work before, but only 15-20% of the time, and never under conditions that I have been able to repeat.
Just as a test, I plugged in the reader/card to my iBook, running 10.3.9. System profiler shows the card reader, but the card doesn’t mount.

  • Pc card won't fit

I backed up all my stuff from my old hp computer to a Toshiba 5-GB PC Card drive. I transferred most of it to my new Satellite L305 through a USB cable (I think; Properties doesn't work) but one thing doesn't work and now I find the card won't fit. It goes part way into the PC Card slot but it won't go all the way in. I tried both ways, a reasonable amount of force, ejector button in or out; it simply will not go in. Computer (from Start) won't recognize it. I'm afraid to really jam the thing in. Why won't it fit???
    Roger AC Williams

That system has an ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54 slot.  I may be wrong, but I don't believe it will accomodate a PC Card.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • 6680 Themes from memory card won't show

I've been having this problem lately wherein themes that i saved and apply from my memory card won't appear when the phone gets turned on again. It gets back to its "Nokia" theme. It works if I save it on my phone memory but it's quite an inconvenience since my phone memory is already low. everything was working fine before until just recently. Is there any way I could fix this? I'm starting to get annoyed seeing the default theme everytime I start my phone. Hope someone could help me with this. Thanks.

So the phone won't work with two different memory cards?
This points to it being a problem with the phone, not the cards.
You should contact the retailer or network about the fault or take your phone to a nokia care point.
Care points/service centres and repair info:
    UK • Europe • Asia-Pacific • USA •
Canada • Middle East and Africa
Elsewhere: Click here, select your country, go to the support section, then select repair.
To use a memory card in a PC to recover your files you need to use a card reader. They are quite cheap and can be found at most computer stores.

  • T420 - fan repaired, but now the SD card won't fit into slot

I'm going to post a couple of the current issues my daughter, freshman ID student is having with her brand new t420 laptop.  Here's this one...
My daughter had issues with a very noisy fan.  She had it fixed, and I'm not sure what they did.  However, now her SD card won't fit into the SD slot (which it used to do).  Any ideas on what might be wrong?
    Thanks!!

    @Linda,
Did it get stuck when putting the SD card in? If the SD card is inserted correctly but can't fit in properly then I would suggest to send it support for them to check.

  • Ipod won't dock

My iPod won't dock to my computer. I own a nano, and it has worked fine in the past. I don't see it in My Computer. Or in Hardware Manager. The iPod firmware updater will not recognize my Pod either. My ports and cords are in working condition. Somehow, on the fifty-seventh try, the firmware updater saw my iPod, so I did a restore. After configuring my pod, I updated it, and recieved an artwork error of some kind. I don't have a warranty on this iPod, can anyone help?

Does the iPod show up in "my computer"?
You could try a format of the iPod in Windows. A full format does a check and remap of bad sectors on the iPod hard drive, and you would need to restore the iPod as normal (using the iPod updater) afterward. This can also work when the iPod is recognized by the computer, but not by the updater.
First, put the iPod into forced disk mode.
See: How to put the iPod into disk mode.
On your PC, go "my computer" and right click on the iPod, then choose "format". Ensure the settings are at "default" and that "quick format" is not checked. Now select "format". It will take a while, but when that's finished, restore the iPod using the updater.
If you need to, reset the iPod to exit disk mode.

  • IPod Won't Dock- BRAND NEW!

So my black 5G 30gb iPod wouldn't dock to my Mac, and I took it into the Apple Store, got a replacement on warranty after meeting with a Genius. So I take my iPod home, dock it, and it loads 880 or so songs of my 3400, I stop it so I can listen to a podcast while in another room, it is fine with it, It disconnects gracefully and all that jazz. So I come back, plug it in...nothing. It charges just fine, it won't dock though (show up on comp/iTunes).
I'm furious and sad. What's the haps?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Try restoring your iPod and start reloading all the songs on. They should transfer.
