My charger has stopped working

I purchased a iPad charger for my iPad and it broke, so I found another iPad charger lying around my house and I pluged it in and it worked. A week later my friends iPhone5s needed charging and I lent her my charger and now it won't work for my iPad. What can I do?

1. Reset iPad
2. Try another wall socket
3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
5. Clean Lightning port with compress air

  • TS2634 My iPad Charger has stopped working after plugging into MacBook Air?

    Hello there,
I have owned my iPad Mini for about 2 months now, and the charger has stopped working. It sometimes works on my MacBook Air, but often I get a popup on my computer saying, "To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled. When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB devices will be enabled again." I have tried plugging my iPad into a wall charger, but it still does not charge. There is a small hole and the first part of the cable from the iPad is a bit twisted. Is there any way of fixing this, or do I have to buy another?

Computer USB ports often do not provide enough power to charge an iPad efficiently. The best way to charge an iPad is with the charger that came with the iPad.
Sounds like your cable is damaged too and needs to be replaced. My suggestion would be to buy two so that you have a backup. If your iPad has a lightning connector be sure to buy a name brand cable, either Apple or another well known brand. Do not buy cheap knockoff cables on eBay and they may not be certified to work with an iPad and you'll get an error message about that when you try to use them.

  • If my iPhone 5 is only 10 months old and my charger has stopped working, am I covered under my 12 months warranty, to receive a replacement?

I have an iPhone 5, I got it on the 10th May last year and the charger has stopped working, am I entitled to a replacement charger under my 12 month warranty?

All package contents are included with the iPhone's warranty including the cable and power adapter/charger.

  • I have a MacBook Pro 13inch 2.4GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, 250Gb HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, SD card slot, up to 10 hour battery life)bought in October 2010 in the UK. The charger has stopped working. Which model and voltage do I need please?

I have a MacBook Pro 13inch 2.4GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, 250Gb HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, SD card slot, up to 10 hour battery life) bought in October 2010. The charger has been playing up for a while now - the light going out but coming back on when I move the cable a bit - faulty connection it seems. It has now stopped working at all.
Apple UK charge a whopping £65 for a replacement - and the reviews are AWFUL for it!
I need to know which one I need - 45w, 60w and 80w are listed - can someone tell me please? If I'm going to pay this price I want to make sure I get the right one!
Also, is a genuine Apple one available on Amazon UK, does anyone know please?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Meanwhile my battery is going down.....

Thanks for that wjosten. Much appreciated.
I've read here on Apple's site that the 85W version will work, as you say, and that it would run cooler with a 13" Macbook - I have a 13" MBP of course but assume this would be the same with mine. I wonder if running cooler is a good thing (it sounds as if it is) and it would be better for me to get the 85W version than the 60W one?
Then I have to decide whether to pay the (extortionate as it seems to me, though I may be wrong) £65 from Apple (bearing in mind the rotten reviews here of the Apple product), or risk a cheaper alternative from Amazon UK, at around £20 (also with various rotten reviews)... Any suggestions? Please? :-)

  • My charger has stopped working, it is only a year old and has no frayed or exposed wires.

My charger is about a year old and has been working perfectly until today. It has no frayed parts or any wires exposed on it. i plugged it in and it wasn't charging and my battery icon on my monitor had an x on the inside of it and wouldn't charge. I tried again to charge it after it finally died and it didn't work, I used my mom's charger and it worked perfectly fine, so it isn't the batter that is having a problem. Has my charger just spontaneously stopped working or it is a common flaw that occours often with other users, and if so is there a soloution to fix it or get a discount on a new charger for what I am going to assume is a design flaw in the box on the charger because that is the only other thing I can think of that would be causing my charger any problems?

I had a lightbulb once. Brand new. Screwed it in its socket, lit it up. 20 minutes later it was dead. It's "brother" from the same twinpak is still shining bright almost 2 years later. Same thing here. The manufacturing process only guarantees that the mean time between failures is adequately long. But the individual units follow a probabilistic bell curve: sometimes you get one from one end and dies right off, most times you get one from the middle and lasts awhile, occasionally you get one from the other end and seems to last forever.
If you have AppleCare, it will be replaced for free. Else you will have to pay the $79 we all have. Of the 8 Mac portables I've owned, in only one did the power brick die on me. Replaced it at my cost, watched the Mac die a month later.

  • My original ipod touch charger has stopped working?

I have a 32gb ipod touch 5th generation with an original ipod touch charger. It just stopped working one day and I couldn't charge my ipod anymore, I thought my charger was dead and broken so I decided to buy a new. It worked fine the first week, but then stopped working, is my ipod the problem? please help...

Was it a genuine Apple cable? If so then if it is defective Apple will exchange it at now cost. Same for the original cable if it was not abused and you purchased the iPod less than a year ago.

  • Help! Charger has stopped working

I might have dropped my charger a couple of times, now its completely stopped working. What do i do? My macbook pro is only four months old.

Go to your Apple store and buy a new charger.  Accidental damage, I.e., dropping, is not covered by the warranty.

  • My charger has stopped working. What can I do besides buy a new one?

I have had my MacBook Pro since June of 2011. A week ago, my charger stopped working. I don't want to have to buy a new one if I can do something to fix it.

They are not repairable so you need to buy a new one. Between 4 and 5 years is a pretty good usage from a charger. Try to buy an Apple certified one as many here have had issues with cheap third party chargers.

  • My macbook charger has stopped working

Earlier at school my charger ceased to work. It also decided to turn off my Macbook as it quit working. Im not sure if this happened because 2 other chargers were plugged into the same power strip. But all in all it seemed to have shorted out perhaps. Will i have to buy a new one?

You can get a new third party 60W power adapter on eBay for under $20.

Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

  • My charger just stopped working. The cord has no visible damage and the plug box works fine with other phone cords. I've had my phone

My charger just stopped working. The cord has no visible damage and the plug box works fine with other phone cords. I've had my phone for less than four months now. Will Apple provide a new charger if theirs is faulty? I have not dropped it in water or anything. It was a normal day and I had 20% battery and I tried to charge my phone and it wouldn't charge. The charging pug box works fine with other phone USB cords so I know its something to do with the charging cord.

    Yes.

    Hi
My iphone 4 has stopped working...the lock button IS working...when it stopped working it had a 50% battery remaining...it was working when I last used it and when I returned it had a blank screen....it will now not charge or connect to itunes when plugged into the computer and it will not charge on the plug socket....I think the last iOS op system updated was 5.1.1....please help

Try holding both home and power buttons until apple logo appears (ignore on/ off slider) and then let go. No data will be lost.  Wait for phone to restart
