My charger is blinking faintly

My Macbook pro turned on, shut off.  so i turned it back on, it again shut off once i logged in.  the charger is Faintly blinking, and now my computer wont turn on.

You need to take your computer into your local Apple Store and have them run diagnostics. Could be anything but sounds more as if it's a hardware failure.

    Hi aaliyafrommarkham,
In order to troubleshoot this, I would recommend that you start with an SMC reset. Information on this procedure can be found here:

  • Iphone 5 won't charge, just blinks charge screen

iphone 5 won't charge, just blinks charge screen?

    Hey there 100ire,
It sounds like your iPhone is not turning on at all and just blinks an orange screen at you rather than booting. I would use these steps from the following article specifically, named:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),  reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Laptop charger indicator blinking in orange color after charger plugged into laptop

    Hi,
I am using HP Pavilion G6-2313AX model laptop with Windows 7 OS,  i've problem in my laptop after charger plugged in my laptop the battery indicator in OS displaying a message like "Plugged in, not charging "  and " Indicator near charger pin blinking in orange color", i tried with another hp charger i am getting same message.   Its a new laptop i bought 3months before. please help to resolve this issue.

With the battery removed can you start the notebook and boot into Windows?
That is a critical item to know. That lets you know that your power adapter is OK. A flashing charge led can indicate a faulty battery or voltage below that required to power the notebook.
Run the battery test from the UEFI diagnostics.
Press the power button and then immediately tap the Esc key. Choose F2 for Diagnostics. Choose component tests and then battery. Run the short or long test.
The battery is a warranty replaceable item. If it fails the test, Contact Hp to arrange for a warranty replacement.

  • MacBook not charging. Charging light blinks red and green (very low) than green in normal charge.

My MacBook's battery is dead. When I plug the charge the charging indicator blinks with dim red and green light instead of bright green light. Please help anyone has a solution to it. Last time I remember tye battery was 46%. I plugged in charger and put my iPhone and power bank in charge in Mac USBs. After hours I found that neither phone and power bank was charged nor Mac. Instead Mac's battery was also empty.

    Hi harry.ptk,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that you are experiencing issues charging your MacBook Pro. The following resource may provides steps for these sort of issues:
OS X Yosemite: If your battery won’t charge
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18601
    - Reset the battery:
If you have a Mac with a removable battery, remove it and install it again, to make sure it’s properly installed. Refer to the manual that came with your Mac for more information about properly installing the battery.
    - Reset the SMC:
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC), which controls how your Mac manages power. For more information, see the Apple Support article Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC).
    - Get your Mac serviced:
If the battery still won’t charge, your Mac may need to be serviced. Take your Mac to your local Apple Store or contact AppleCare.

  • MacBook Pro won't turn on after crash. Charging LED blinking rapidly

Hi. I hope you can help me.
I have a macbook Pro 13", from september 2012, which crashed earlier today:
I was charging my iphone through USBport on my macbook (not an Apple USB-iPhone power-cable) .
My MacBook was charging through the magsafe charger (about 30% power i think).
I took the phone out to make a call, when that was done, I reconnected the phone to my mac for further charging.
My MacBook crashed instantly. I took out the USB cable, tried to turn on my mac, but nothing happened. There was no light in the magsafe LED.
The crashing has happened before, when I've been charging my phone through USB connections, but I've always been able to turn my mac back on.
This time nothing happened when I pushed the power button. It had comepletely shorted out.
BTW. Earlier today I received a "storage almost full" warning on my mac, and I was actually in the middle of cleaning that up (deleting downloads and trash files).
    Typical and just my luck!
Now, a few hours later, I tried restoring SMC (shift+ctrl+alt+power), and now the charger LED is blinking rapidly (but faintly) orange.
Do you have any ideas on how to fix this? All applestores nearby are closed today, I live in Denmark.
Thank you so much in advance!
    Kind regards Emilie

    Try the SMC reset again:
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
    Then try a NVRAM reset:
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063
    Then try a safe boot:
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
If no success, then you will have to take it in for service.
    Ciao.

  • IPod Shuffle (2nd Gen) not charging, just blinks orange once.

    Hi,
I was using this iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen for almost 4 years without any problem, After I got iPod Touch 4G a year back, I stopped using shuffle for almost a year. When I looked at it recently, of course, to give it to my niece - it's not responding. Thinking that battery drained, I tried to charge the shuffle using the then supplied USB doc.
When connected it just blinked orange once - only once that's it. Nothing happend. Even after keeping it for a whole night, nothing happend. It doesn't play, iTunes won't recognize, but windows 7 says "USB Device not recognized", and it was showed under Generic USB Hub as "Unknown Device"
I used USB 2.0 port back of my computer.
Tried using 3rd gen shuffle charging cable, but this time not even the orange blink.
Tried suggested resetting option (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655), but invain.
    Any suggestions?

    If you do
Apple Menu -> About This Mac -> More Info -> System Report
to run System Information (or System Profiler), does the "iPod" appear as a connected device under
    Hardware -> USB
Try doing the above with the shuffle connected directly AND using the power USB hub you mentioned.
Have you tried connecting something else to that USB port, to confirm it is working properly?  Preferably, it should be something similar, like a USB flash drive or port-powered external drive (data storage devices that get power from the USB port).
Two other related tests...  Create a new user account in System Preferences Users & Groups pane.  The new user account can be Standard or Admin.  Log out and log in to the new user account (do not use Fast User Switching).  In the new user account, run iTunes and connect the shuffle.
And the other test.  Start up in Safe Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
Connect the shuffle while started up in safe mode, to see if it appears anywhere.  These two test are to see if you have a process running when you start up normally, that interferes with the iPod being recognized.

  • My Mac randomly just turned off and now it wont turn back on, the charger light is faintly flashing green and amber?!?!

My mac randomly turned off last night had some trouble with an uncertified usb cable that I was trying to charge my iphone 5S with but it came up with that message of not being able to charge with this accessory or something so i plugged it into my mac thinking it was my plug to charge my phone then like 5 mins later my mac just randomly turns off and it did have like 90% batt but i still plugged it back in thinking it was just being wierd but then i pressed the power button after it being plugged into my mac and it wouldnt even turn on no fan starts or anything and now the colour of the charger light is very faint and is almost flickering between green and amber, please help me out I dont want to pay loads of money for something that I might be able to fix?!?!?!

    I actually just fixed it.  Here is what to do;
    1. Unplug everything from your computer.
    2. Take off the bottom of your MacBook / Pro / Air.  (There are usually 3 screws that are longer than the rest near the vent, remember where they go.)
    3. Carefully unplug the battery from the logic board.
    4. Wait 10 seconds.
    5. Plug the battery back into the logic board.
    6. Put the bottom cover back on.
    7. Reboot the computer holding the "Option" key.
It's not exactly what I did but it should work.  If it doesn't work, what I really did was unplug the battery and then plugged my charger into the computer, the fans started spinning and then it shut off again.  Then I plugged the battery back in, put the bottom on (with no screws), and tried booting up again.  The Apple chime played and then the computer shut off.  So I tried booting again holding the "Option" key and it booted up like normal.  I then restarted my computer to make sure it is back to normal and it is.
Wow what a relief.  I was really scared there for a minute.
*And for everyones information I was using a Belkin USB cable but it had never done that before.

  • Charge led blinks every second when Laptop NX9420 is turned off.

I have a new battery, in a HP Compaq NX9420 and it can run the laptop for 2 hours isch,
it can also run it on power adaptor only, battery removed, so both battery and charger is ok.
    But,
When turning off the laptop from within windows it goes off and all is normal, after some 3-12 hours the charge led starts to blink amber/orange every second, if I press on/off button nothing happens, I have to remove the battery and slap it in again then it starts,
(after pressing on/off ofc.) the battery is slightly drained what I can see?
checked everything in bios but nothing
tested also HP Battery check and it says all ok.
    Motherboard busted?
RTC battery weak? I still keeps track of time and settings bioswise.

  • DV6-7010us won't turn on. Light by charger port blinks orange 3 times when power button is pressed.

I took this laptop to a local computer store to try a new charger, but it still didnt turn on. I did the "hard reset" and tried to start with AC power and no battery but that also did not work. Is it possible that the battery is bad? I have searched and can not find another instance that describes exactly  what I'm experiencing.  The caps lock and other LED do not blink, only the light by the charger and it blinks orange 3 times.

It looks like the Notebook doesn't Power ON even with a known good Power Adapter this confirms the Hardware
fault with System Board or the DC Power Circuit of the Notebook

  • Charging light blinks 3 times (NOT MEMORY)

Ok.  I have 2 virtually identical machines.  One is a Compaq CQ57-229WM and an HP 2000-2B19WM.  They share a lot of components like batteries, chargers, memory, etc... Problem is the 2000 is was Windows 8.0  It was hard enough for my 69 year old mother to grasp Win7 and IMPOSSIBLE for her to understand Win8 without touch screen interface, so I downgraded it to Win7 and it worked fine...for a while.  It kept getting slower and slower and finally got to the point of being useless.  I ordered a set of restore DVD's and was going to restore it to Win8, give mom mine and use the 2000 myself.  I read the instructions, booted the way the flyer said to and it began to repair the system.  About 20 seconds into it, it froze and would not respond and finally shut off.  It was plugged in but I thought the battery may have died and grabbed my Compaq battery (same part # by the way), put it in and nothing.  I didn't think anything of it since I had been using my Compaq and it had been left unplugged for a few days and thought the battery on it was dead also.  I swapped batteries back, plugged in the Compaq and the A/C charge light didn't come on.  I pressed the power button and the A/C light flashed 3 times and went off.  I put the battery back into the HP and pressed the power button and the button itself barely blinks (more of a quick 'glow' than a flicker) and the A/C light blinked 3 times.  I swapped memory out on the Compaq with some new memory (since the 3 flash code if for bad memory module) and nothing... still 3 flashes.
Anyone want to try a stab at this one?  I am thinking the battery lost its 'condition memory', but which do I put a new battery in since they are both doing the same thing now?  AND if that is the case, how do I recover the HP and restore Win8 on it if all it is going to do is short out batteries?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Basically what I am saying is that I now have 2 machines doing the exact same thing at the exact same time.  One was being restored to Windows 8 and died and the other just donated a battery for about 1 minute and now it will not work either.  There was nothing wrong with the Compaq (battery donor) before the battery swap.
