My child made an in-app purchase for £21 accidently, how can I get a refund?

I have previously allowed him to purchase things for £0.69 but on my receipt there is a purchase for £21! He is a minor and I have contacted the support what are the chances of a refund?
-Claire

In-app purchases cannot be made "accidentally". Numerous warnings are shown and the account password required.
If you've allowed your child to use your account, then you are responsible for what he/she purchases.
Read: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6088 for restricting in-app purchases, but if you've given your child your password, then obviously they can still make purchases.

You can contact iTunes and ASK for a refund. Then make make an exception to their all sale are final policy.

In the future set the restrictions so that in-app purchases are prohibited and that a password is always required.

  • HT4009 I made an in-app purchase for unlimited turns but it doesn't work

I made an in-app purchase for unlimited turns for the game triple town. However it never worked. I just got billed for the unlimited turns but I can't seem to get them in the app. How can I fix this?

First try going to the developer's support site/contact the developer.
    Otherwise contact iTunes.

You should first try resolving it with the developer before contacting iTunes.

Contact iTunes store support and request for a refund:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
They may also need your order numbers so it's best you get them ready.
You can find your order numbers on your email receipts and in your Purchase History. If you need to review your Purchase History, follow the steps in this article:

Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for a refund. Consider whether or not you want to do this now carefully first; if they grant one, you'll need a very good reason to get another from them.

You contact iTunes store support and plead your case. YOU are responsible for the security of your Apple ID and password. There are numerous mechanisms in place to make it easy to prevent unauthorized purchases. IF they agree to give you a refund, they will not do so a second time.

How can I get a refund for an in app purchase I did not want?
The app took over $35 from my account and there is no way this was authorized.  Please advise on how I can recover these funds.

They did the same thing to me on 12/24/11. Apple overcharged me 3 times my purchase amount and have caused my bank account to be overdrawn!
I called my bank to make a statement of unauthorized charges AND filed a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). Apple provided no way to contact a live rep and the email reps have been useless...so they left me no other option.
I think they do this to their customers very often. It is extremely dishonest.
I actually posted the above info on this discussion community earlier today...and Apple deleted it! If that isn't an admission of guilt, I don't know what is.
    But seriously...best of luck.

  • How can I get a refund for unwanted app?

My kids downloaded an extension of an app, made for kids, that cost $100. They thought it was free, until I got the bill. How can I get a refund for this and remove the app? This is wrong on so many levels, beginning with having a free app for kids luring them to a ridiculously priced one. Any help is appreciated.

You posted in the Mac computer OS X Tiger 10.4 forum. You don't provide enough info. Was this an iPad app, iPhone app, an iPod app purchased from the iTunes store? Or an app purchased from another source?
The remedy - don't give your kids the password and answer to security questions.
If purchased from the iTunes store, there's a link on the invoice.

How are you trying to listen to it ? You shouldn't need to be online to listen to it, I don't for any of mine. If you've downloaded it directly on your iPad (or synced it from your computer) then it should be in the Music app (you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button in the Music app when you have audiobooks on it) - is that where you are trying to listen to it ?
