As for iMessage, you do Settings -> Messages (scroll down) -> where it says iMessage, turn the switch to off.
As for pictures, you do Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream -> My Photo Stream -> turn switch off.
As for apps, you do Settings -> iTunes & App Stores (scroll down alot) -> Music, Apps, Books are all swtiched off.
If you want to the delete the music, you go onto the music app and slide your finger from right to left on the song.

Just got the iPhone6 and did the iCloud setup from a previous backup of my old iPhone5. iPhone6 is now continuously trying to download the renweb app. When I try to delete the renweb app, it will not delete. How can I get rid of the app??

How can I delete the app off my phone without going through the entire setup of the new phone again? App will not delete the normal way. I hit delete and it just stays on the phone and tries to download over and over.

If it has a cloud icon it means its no longer on your device. Tapping on the cloud will effectively reinstall the App from scratch to your device.
There is no way to remove it from the cloud because its not yours to remove from there. Its the general App repository, you are just given access to it to download content you've already purchased.

I checked my plugins for firefox and it recomends I download version 14.0.0.149 shockwav which includes macafee security that I don't want, how do I avoid this?

I checked my plug ins to find that shockwave flash version 14.0.0.145 should be updated by version 14.0.0.149. That download comes with some macafee download (antiviral I think). I have had trouble with macafee in the past and do no0t want it. Is there a way around this hitchhiker? Thanks for your help. I have learned to go to the Adobe site and pick out only what I need, instead of following the suggested path in "plugin checker". It led me to a download which was hiding the Macafee download, which only becomes apparent when you click "download". You can then only stop it by clicking the "stop download" button, if you are quick enough. I'm just an average Joe user and I don't think I could manage this computer without the help of people like your selves. If there was some way for me to help you fix something I would, but alas, you have given your time without the expectation of reciprocation. True kindness!

This happened to me with the same device. I wouldn't worry about having it just say other as that is just information, if you really need to know what is using the most of your device's storage to to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage and that will tell you what apps are using in terms of your storage. Besides that, "other" is just iTunes knowing that there is information, how much there is, just not what it is. So syncing your device a few times and letting it stay plugged in should allow iTunes to recognize what information is on your iPod. Hope I could help!

1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4 Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

Sorry this solution is late but I just got off of the phone with Apple support and this worked.
Open iTunes
Connect your iPhone and keep it connected during this entire process.
In the iTunes menu at the very top (File, Edit, View) choose STORE> Sign in and sign into your iTunes account.
Once this is complete look at the upper right corner of iTunes and you will see an iPhone and Store button, cick STORE. Now you will be in the iTunes store where you see the advertisements of the various albums, songs etc. Look on your upper left of the window for your itunes account name and in the black band next to your iTunes account name, you will see a House icon, then Music, Movies, TV Shows etc.
Make sure the HOUSE icon is selected.
Stay on this screen in iTunes and on the lower RIGHT, you will see an area that says- QUICK LINKS. In that area click - Purchased
After you do this you will be transported to another area of iTunes. Here there will be a menu across the top- Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, Books are the choices.
Choose APPS and you will see the apps that you have purchased. You will also see the apps that didn't download to your phone.
Find the apps that didn't download and click the cloud next to their name. Doing this will download the chosen apps to the computer you are on.
Once you have downloaded the apps in question, in the upper right corner click LIBRARY.
Now you should see the button that says iPhone because your phone is still plugged in. Click the iPhone button and then click SYNC on the lower right to sync your iPhone.
The apps you downloaded will now be on your phone.
Sorry for the long instructions but this is what works.

Are you sure that you have the Mac version, as there is a Windows version, as well as a few game console versions.
Sounds as though that may be a Windows or other version.

It is also possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

You may have an unwanted extension that is modifying sites (or the toolbar area). Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that flush the tab?

That's a problem that all users of a second-hand Mac released after the OS X Lion launch have. OS X, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand are registered to the Apple ID the first owner used to register the computer, so you can't use them legally without repurchasing them. Furthermore, there's a bigger problem: you have to get iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand on a DVD, because the App Store makes impossible to purchase these applications on a second-hand Mac.
Nothing will happen if they are already installed, but you won't be able to reinstall and update them, so I recommend you to delete them and buy iLife '11 on a DVD to install the applications from there. Also, take note that you can't also reinstall OS X, so if OS X gets damaged, you will have to take your computer to an Apple Store.
Open  > About this Mac, and tell us the OS X version you have. If you are using OS X Lion, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion with your Apple ID, so then you will be able to reinstall OS X

Tap the Apple ID then tap Sign Out then sign in with your Apple ID.
Perhaps you have more than one user account on your laptop and iTunes content was synced using another Apple ID from that account.

My ipod classic has started making a mewing sound and all it does is scroll through the songs. It will not play except when connected to my computer. I tried resyncing and that did not work. How do I fix this problem?

It will play when connected to the computer...but that makes it hard to take it on a walk with me I thought it might be a synching problem so tried that--still doesn't work. Have you recharge your iPod for at least 2 hours, preferably till the Full charge Battery symbol comes ON.?
