My click wheel won't work, and I don't know what to do..

Could someone please help me out here? I have an Ipod Video, and the click wheel won't work at all. The only times the ipod will respond are if I toggle the hold button, or reset the ipod. Does anyone know what's wrong with my ipod?

What happens when you press play? Does it play anything? Do the buttons work?

Click wheel won't work and battery discharges

My iPod is about two years old, so way past the warranty. Neither the click wheel nor the button will respond anymore.
It does still respond to the hold switch, as toggling it will cause the icon on the display to change and turn on the backlighting. I can also connect it to my computer, charge it, and sync it. I've tried all the suggestions the manual, support, and various web searches have suggested.
I can't actually reset it because that requires use of the menu and center buttons, which are nonresponsive, like the other buttons and click wheel.
I have restored it but it is stuck now on the language selection screen which requires use of the buttons to proceed.
Another issue that I have had recently and doesn't seem related, but perhaps it is, is that the battery will discharge when not used in a day or two from a full charge. The battery life when playing is still normal around 13-14 hours, which suggest the battery is still good.
Has anyone else had this or these problems and had a resolution or have a suggestion? I fear my iPod may be no more for this world. If this is so, its replacement won't be another iPod.

Since you have posted in the Classic forum, you are unlikely to find anyone else with the same problem.
First, identify the actual model that you have, here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353 and then start a new thread in that appropriate forum.

What do you mean by, "actualize"?

Purchases are considered final, but if they were accidental purchases then you could try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If they've downloaded onto your iPod then you should be able to delete them from it by swiping/dragging across them from right-to-left on the Songs selection screen in the Music app

There is no password to Thunderbird. The password you need is to the email account. Contact the email provider for password reset.

This may occur if you are connected to the Internet and iTunes is trying to connect to the iTunes Store and fails for some unknown reason.
Try this:
Quit iTunes and disconnect completely from the Internet.
IF you have an iPhone (iPod etc), open iTunes. Sync the device.
Re-enable your Internet connection.
Quit iTunes.
Open iTunes again.
If this does not work, try completely uninstalling iTunes, then reinstall it according to these instructions:
