My Code Samples Don't Always Display

I have table that contain code samples. The help system
renders everything except the code. If I reload, the code appears:
http://help.marketbright.com/index.html#adding_tracking_codes.htm
What's the proper way of "wrapping" code samples so that it's
not considered part of the help topic's html? I don't know if
that's the cause, but I thought I'd ask.
Thank you,
Angela

I'm not clear on the problem here. I followed your link and
the code displays OK. Please explain where things are not working.
Putting code in a table as you have done and letting the
table force the wrapping is an accepted way of displaying code.

  • Nano cover art issues (covers loaded, but don't always display)

    Just picked up an 8GB Nano yesterday, and while the whole idea of having cover art displayed is nice and all, it doesn't seem to be working correctly. I can load the art just fine, and it displays in the Cover Flow view (after a small delay when loading each one), but when just playing the songs and moving back and forth between them with the next/previous buttons (even within the same album), the album art seems to always disappear after one or two songs, only to be replaced by the increasingly-irritating "music note on a gray square".
    Is this a known issue with the 3G Nanos (or iPods in general), or am I looking at a defective unit?

    I actually thought of that last night after I posted that, so I did a test:
    I played the first song in an album that had cover art present. When I hit the "next track" button, the album art promptly disappeared. I then went back to the previous menu and went straight to the song where the cover art disappeared and selected that one. Once again, hitting the "next track" button made the album artwork disappear.
    I'm not a huge fan of iTunes, though, so I've been using Winamp to manage the Nano, especially since I can have Winamp automatically get cover art for songs without having to give it a credit card number.

  • Images don't always display

    At
    http://debseitz.com/press.htm,
    the Cosmik Interview doesn't display the images all the time, yet
    sometimes it does. All help fixing that is welcome!
    Thanks

    You have a couple minor validation errors but nothing that
    would cause the issue you are describing. When I loaded the page
    there did not appear to be anything missing. Is there a specific
    image on that page which has been giving you problems?

  • Bookmarks are always displayed and we don't want them.

    When I open any pdf file, bookmarks are always displayed. I do not use bookmarks, and would like to turn that feature off.  How do I disable them from opening automatically when I open a document?

    (This may or may not work) I found it in anothert thread.
    SOLUTION for hiding navigation panel in Adobe:
    1. When the navigation panel is opened, left-click and drag each individual icon to the right so that you pull it off the navigation panel and they each become bigger floating pop-up windows.
    2. Now continue doing this for all icons until the navigation panel is entirely gray.
    3. Click on the "X" in the upper right hand side until you close all those pop-up windows.
    4. Right click on the navigation panel gray area and click "hide".
    5. Now that navigation panel will be gone whenever you open up Adobe.
    I've found in both Windows and Mac  that if I close the panel and then close Reader, it doesn't open again.

  • Is there a RH standard for formatting code samples?

    In the RH default style sheet, I do not see a pre HTML tag or other tag that will display code samples in a monospaced font.
    I created custom styles for a single line code sample and another style for multiline samples.
    We want our code samples to be shaded. If I shade multiple lines, each line being separated with a paragraph, there is a small amount of
    white space between each line. We do not like this either.
    I then created a custom table style with a single shaded cell. I add my multiline sample code, then I apply the custom paragraph style to get
    the font and spacing between lines that I want.
    Is there a different best practice for this, so that the code sample would be rendered correctly if viewed from other devices that read the HTML and
    may look for the pre HTML tag?
    I am using RoboHelp 9 and I provide the output as Eclipse help. Our help files are integrated into Eclipse help in the Eclipse IDE.
    Thank you.

    Hi Cynthia
    As much as it pains me to say it, this is one case where using a Form element might be your best bet. I say this because often code samples are used or presented with the intent of copying and pasting into something like Windows Notepad. And if you used the TextArea form element, you can place the code there and make it pretty easy for folks to copy it for use elsewhere.
    I stand to be corrected on this because I am not a "power CSS" person. (meaning I am aware there are complete two and three day classes one might attend on all the nuances of CSS) But RoboHelp won't really do anything to help you a great deal in formatting things. But it might be possible, somehow, to configure CSS to accomplish your goal of making the code look as you want.
    Cheers... Rick

  • The PDF output is not always displayed!

    Hello
    I'm tryin' to build some PDF outputs and I have the next problem: I have 20 reports to make it on PDF form (viewed with the Acrobat plugin from IE 5.5 or higher) and when I try to see what was builded the PDF it's not always displayed ( mean it's not readed by the plugin). I generate the PDF output from a servlet (which also set the servlet output context as 'application/pdf') and, if the output it's generated too fast (meanning the report information was too small), the Acrobat plugin doesn't catch him ! I think that I have to slow down the servlet response to allow the plugin complete loading, but I don't khow how to do this (and, ofcourse, if it's possible).
    Please, I need a solution. !

  • N95 screen lights don't always work

    Hi guys just got my nokia replacement but the screen lights don't always work. They work sometimes then go off. Any ideas?
    Its not who i am underneath. But what i do that defines me.
    You are here for a reason Superman.
    "Come to me son of Jor-EL. KNEEL BEFORE ZOD"

    When you say it doesn't always work, are there certain steps you can reproduce to make it work (or not as the case may be ?)
    The only thing I can suggest is formatting your N95 by using the *#7370# code and NOT restoring any backup and seeing if the problem still happens - if it does you have a hardware fault and you should approach your local Nokia Service Centre.
    So far from the v12 firmware thread I don't think anyone has reported the backlight not working as a known problem.

  • Pages not always displaying properly

    Hi. For some reason certain websites I use often as well as various others aren't always displayed properly (e.g. they often have the menu at the top/side and no main content). Sometimes refreshing the page a number of times or hitting back helps and other times I end up going off the site and going back to it later where there's about a 50/50 chance it will load fully.
    I thought maybe it's because my Firefox browser needed updating, but after updating it I still have the same problem.
    I cleared my browsing history/cookies/cache and it did nothing. Then I noticed under Options-Advanced-Network it mentioned the cache for offline storage, which I noticed was at 1GB (it seems to go up very quickly). I cleared it and the sites all loaded first time until I closed the browser window and re-opened it. Now no matter how many times I clear the cache, cookies or anything else it still refuses to display the pages properly.
    On top of that I'm suddenly getting pop-ups for various sites (usually with a table of ebay or amazon items). They often appear when I click to type in a box on a site (e.g. in a search engine), but it happens randomly on any site and the window it opens always has a different address even if it is displaying a similar page. This too started when I still had the older version and is still continuing with the latest version. I have block-ups blocked.
    A few weeks ago everything was fine and I haven't added any extra add-ons or done anything different in that time (as in surfing the web, editing browser settings or downloading new programs, or even editing existing ones). However, today I did update existing add-ons just to see if this was the problem. This has all started in the last week or so.
    Any ideas as to what is causing these problems and how I can solve them?
    Thanks

    Thanks. Them links just suggest to do what I've already done though. I've cleared the cookies and cache and history. I've disabled extensions, themes and plugins to see if that affects it. I completely uninstalled FireFox and everything to do with it. I've done full system scans for viruses, malware and spyware and found nothing and I've even used CCleaner to make sure it wasn't a file affecting it that shouldn't be there. I've then re-installed firefox and I still have the same problem.
    I also noticed that when trying to load a page I get a small message in a box on the left hand side at the bottom of the browser that says "Read static.ak.fbcdn.net", but I've only noticed it on one site, not others that don't load properly.

  • Why do so many code samples here use Arrays?

    I've seen many code samples here use Arrays. Why? I much prefer to use ArrayLists, and Vectors if I need synchronization or HashSets if I require uniqueness. I don't understand why people are using Arrays when the Collection classes are so useful. You can change the underlying datastructure without changing any of the access code.

    I guess they are faster...
    public class Test1 {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
                Integer zero = new Integer(0);
                   long start = System.currentTimeMillis();
                   for (int j = 0; j < 1000; j++) {
                        Integer[] array = new Integer[10000];
                        for (int i = 0; i < 10000; i++) {
                             array[i] = zero;
                   long finish = System.currentTimeMillis();
                   System.out.println(finish - start);
                   start = System.currentTimeMillis();
                   for (int j = 0; j < 1000; j++) {
                        ArrayList arrayList = new ArrayList();
                        for (int i = 0; i < 10000; i++) {
                             arrayList.add(zero);
                   finish = System.currentTimeMillis();
                   System.out.println(finish - start);
    }~460 ms for array
    ~1600 for ArrayList
    Still, the benefit of the Collections interface and the better OO design of code that uses these classes is probably worth it in most cases, IMO.

    Second I changed the class name from "cardinfo" to "CardInfo", because of java code style.

    Would anyone like to share iphone touchscreen code samples with the community? I would share mine, but I don't have a clue.

    Any code for  touch,mouse or input events that  is coded for normally for flash will also work in iphone too.
    Not sure of gesture and multi touch events.Some examples below

  • Code Samples??

    Ross - it's been over a monthsince any sample code has been posted. I know you guys are all about pushing professional services, but many times that is not an option, nor should it be, and we are sitting here stuck because the documentation is so poor and we are forced to depend on a Plumtree resource responding to a post to get our jobs done. We understand that sometimes code samples are incomplete and that would be a caveat, but even if you just throw us a bone by providing sample code of some of the advanced UI customizations you guys have done internally. Something, anything. The QuickStarts aren't sufficient and you only have 10 pieces total of sample code outside of the documentation, the latest sample posted over a month ago. Any news on when more is coming or what Plumtree's strategy is in that arena?
    Regards,
    Sarah Wheeler

    I have to completely agree with Sarah's post. I have read the EDK guide, the UI Customization guide (which drove me to read a Java manual, I'm a C# developer), Setting Up the Development Portal, every bit of the online documentation (quickstarts, sample code), and most of the posts on this discussion board. To recap, I have read, sometimes multiple times, every bit of available documentation around, specifically, UI Customizations and extending the Plumtree Application.
    This has done me no good, and has only proven to confuse me.
    I understand the Model-View-Controller design pattern; we use it for our ASP.NET development. Plumtree's implementation of MVC is tied so closely to the PT Server API that it is impossible to decouple the two. The UI documentation goes into some detail about activity spaces, views, models, and controllers, but never explains "why" they work in relation to the Plumtree Application. There are only loose references to Plumtree's implementation of MVC, and this is Plumtree documentation! To further the confusion (and the confusion runs deep), each piece of documentation I read seems to contradict all the other documentation I've read. The setup for Visual Studio development is almost laughable there are so many steps to follow, and once again, there is never any "why" to the "how".
    I really hope that PT comes up with some decent documentation and sample code to compliment what I'm sure is a very scalable architecture. Right now it seems like the blind leading the blind, not just here, but all over these discussion boards.

  • Code samples for SSLEngine?

    I am attempting to re-implement the SSL support in our product under the new non-blocking I/O model. SSLEngine seems to be the starting point...but I can't find any code samples anywhere showing it working.
    Anybody have any ideas where to look?
    There used to be a whole suite of samples in the JSSE...but don't know where they are, now that the JSSE is part of J2SE :(

    SSLEngine is new in tiger (JDK 1.5), and as such, hasn't been released
    publically yet. I believe they are looking at sometime in Q1 2004 for the first
    public beta, and ships later in 2004. If you're a licensee, you can get early drops.Yup...I'm currently working with JDK1.5 b30.
    Anyway, SSLEngine will eventually have sample code, but nothing has been produced yet.
    On the whole, the non-blocking model takes some care to use correctly. The SSLEngine
    is pretty straightforward, but it's not as simple as SSLSocket.I'm aware of that - we've already rewritten our product to utilize java.nio. That's why I was
    hoping to find some code samples for the new SSLEngine class.
    To answer your other (implied) question, the sample
    code for JDK 1.4 can be found in the JSSE Reference Guide. See:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/security/jsse/JSSERefGuide.html#CodeExamples
    Thanks for the link...I guess I should have looked in the OLD jdk docs. The 1.5 docs
    don't include most of the 'guide' folder from previous releases.

  • Flash 8 .as don't always compile

    I've just started using classes with as2 and flash 8.
    I have found that the class files don't always compile when I
    change one and run my project again, is there something I need to
    do, driving me crazy. Very hit and miss.
    A good example, is I add a trace to a .as file, it works,
    then I change the trace line to display a different variable, save,
    run again and it's still displaying the old variable.

    You can delete the ASO files to avoid this "cache".
    In the Flash 8 menu go to
    Control > Delete ASO Files

  • Bug in Sun code sample... throwing an exception from a static variable decl

    I got this line from a Sun tutorial (on logging):
    private static FileHandler fh = new FileHandler("mylog.txt");
    Declared in a class as a variable. The compiler (1.4) warns that an IOException must be thrown or caught, and refuses to compile this line. I thought I could program Java (been at it for 4 years) until now, and I realize that I don't know what to do. How do you catch an exception thrown outside of a method? Is this really such a hard case, or am I stupidly missing something obvious?
    Everlasting gratitude to the kind person who can solve my quandry.
    (Code sample taken from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/guide/util/logging/overview.html#2.3)

    You can do this:
    private static FileHandler fh;
    static
       try
          fh = new FileHandler("mylog.txt");
       } catch (IOException e)
          //Handle the exception
    }I don't think there's anyway of handling exceptions outside the scope of a function.
