My comp see my HS-950 Headset as 2.1 speakers!!!

I have Vista 32-bit with Service Pack and HS-950 Gaming Headset. I've installed latest drivers and Audio Console but it see my headset as 2. speakers! Plaease for help and quick answer.

Now I realized what "headset" you have. That "headset" in is a soundcard by itself, it doesn't have any connection with the another soundcard from your computer.
The 5.1 will be emulated in software since it has only 2 speakers. So, Windows will see it as "headphones" and you should check a virtual 3d setting (CMSS-3D ) in the console.

Problem with HS-950 headset

Hy, for starts I will say I run Windows 7 and my problem with headset is that when i use application that uses microphone (Skype, Ventrilo) I have some background sound distortion. I can't explain it best, for example: when my hard is processing data i hear that distortion in my headset and its only when i use programs i said above. I've did all the things you advised in previous posts with changing sample rate, updated firmware, downloaded newest drivers, first the ones for Vista 32 bit, then for Windows 7, neither fixed the problem. I also downloaded Creative Console Launcher and turned off 3D sound like someone said in previous posts but that didn't work either. After all of these things I finally went to shop where i bought headset and i got new ones and they have the same problem. So please can u give some solution?

It looks like the msi gaming control center should be bundled with WMIHookBtnFn, but it's not. This "utility" by now it's almost useless, only the Wifi and camera switch worked.
A detailed explanation of what I did here if someone has the same issue:
-> I looked in msi support-downloads http://www.msi.com/support, selected my and went to "Exclusive downloads"
-> http://event.msi.com/aio/sw/ In there I just downloaded the msi gaming control center
-> But! when I wanted to install it, he told me that it would update WMIHookBtnFn and when he tried he'd say it's already updated.
-> Solution: Uninstall WMIHookBtnFn and re-run the installation program. Then it says to install the gaming control center.
-> Reboot the computer
-> And that's it, it should work. You can change the display's configuration, "share internet connection", change microphone/speakers volume and switch wifi, camera and supercharger on off and.. switch between speakers and headphones! *yay!*
-> I tried installing the last version of WMIHookBtnFn again, and it says that it will upgrade the Gaming Control Center. And then tries to execute a "Gaming Control Center.msi" that should be found in the extraction folder of WMIHookBtnFn but it's not.

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

I have an HP Paviliion g4 1212tx. and i have problem with sound. when headphones plugged in, both speakers and headphones are still playing sound. i twise uninstalled sound drivers and replaced the drivers.

I believe that your problem may be caused by a Windows update. At this time there is a Windows update the may be causing the sound to stop working on some computers. The update is KB2962407, and it is now an “Important” update. That means that it will be installed by Windows Update unless you hide it.
1. Follow the steps in this document are attempted: No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8)
2. Try creating a new user account. The changes forced by the update may only affect one user. This HP document shows you how to create a new user under the “Creating a new account in Windows 8” section: Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8)
If this did not resolve the issue, then follow this information from SuperMario1 for troubleshooting the update.
First, you can try the Hotfix in this Microsoft document, specifically to address KB2962407: Windows RT, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012 update rollup: June 2014
If that doesn't help, then uninstalling the Windows Update, and then hiding it, is the only method of eliminating the issue if it caused by this update. Here is the procedure for uninstalling the update:
1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Programs and Features”.
2. Click on “View Installed Updates”. Look for the update with the ID number KB2962407.
3. Right-click on the update and select “Uninstall”. Restart the computer.
Next, here is the procedure for hiding the update:
1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Windows Updates”.
2. Click on “Check for Updates”. When the process is completed, is should find important update(s) available. Clicking on the message will open a window where the important update(s) is.
3. Right-click on the KB2962407 update and select “Hide Update”. This will prevent the update from being installed next time Windows Updates are being installed.

Audio Line-in input and BT Headset output not working

I'm trying to run the Line-in into my MBPro and route the output to my Logitech H800 BT Headphones at the same time (a pass through), but can't get it to work.
I have tried to run the line-in to the Internal Speakers and can not get this to work either.
Steps to taken:
1. Go to the Sound window by selecting the Sound icon from System Preferences.
Next, I route the Line-in by:
2. Selecting the Input button from Sound Effects, Output, Input buttons.
3. Select "Line In" from the Select a device for sound input list.
4. Select "Sound Input" from the Use audio port for drop down list
5. you should see activity on the Input Level.
6. Next, select the Ouput button from Sound Effects, Output, Input buttons.
7. Select "H800 Logitech Headset Stereo (or Internal Speakers) from the Select a device for sound output list.
8. Verify that "Sound Input" from the Use audio port for drop down list is still selected.
9. Also, verify that the Mute checkbox is not selected in either the Input or Output window.
10. NO SOUND :-(
11. If I pull up a radio station in a webbrowser, I can listen to it without issue. So, I think audio out is set correctly.
12. If I install Audacity: 1) It shows the audio input and output to be set as above (Built-in Input/H800 Headset). 2) If I record and then playback, it records the audio going in the Line-In and plays back accross the H800. 3) Also looked for a Monitor function in Audacity but could find one to test simulataneous I/O.
Any idaes welcome ?

ahh sry, thats how the line in works on my Mac Pro, I guess the Macbook is different. This is a program I use in conjunction with another called 'soundflower' to route my audio to all the places it needs to go:

If you need to run multiple instances, you can open up terminal and type
open -n /Applications/[PUT PROGRAM NAME HERE].app/
It will open up another instance every time you run that script.

No sound on Youtube with my bluetooth headset

I've have a curious problem with Youtube.
When i go on youtube with my bluetooth headset on my head, the sound of the videos is not in my headset but in the speakers of my PC
But i have no problem with other sites like Jamendo for example. Have you got an idea ? xD (Oh and my web Browser is Firefox )

I'm just curious: Have you tried the minitube client (you can install it through the official repos). See if you get output there when trying to see a video.
That is the best bet I think you have in terms of the software you use to see flash content. You could also try the google-chrome package of the AUR and check how does that browser react to the BT headset (there are differences between the flash plugin of Firefox and Google's).
I hope this helps you in some way while someone smarter than me sorts out your issue.

950 GMA Graphics

I've got a Macbook with a Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM(memory) and Intel 950 GMA graphics.
Visit http://intel.com/products/chipsets/gma950/index.htm and you'll see that the 950 GMA supports up to 224MB of video memory.
Apple uses the same hardware, but over here the 950 GMA displays only 64MB(+16MB) of video memory. On Windows XP this somehow goes upto 128MB but still not 224MB. My question is simple, how do I get the max out of the 950GMA?
Before posting this question, I did some research and confirmed that the 950 GMA supports 224MB of video memory by using a Dell XPS M1210 with the same config as my Macbook. Games run very well(much better than on the Macbook even though the hardware is all the same).
I raised this question because the only reason I want a Macbook Pro is because of the 950 GMA on the Macbook not performing as well as on the Dell Notebook. If I am assured that Apple is going to release a patch in the future to fix this issue, I wont make any decisions in haste.

SB Arena Headset

Hallo,
i has Creative USB Sound Blaster Arena Headset and I'm on windows 8.1. I trying install drivers from original CD, later from support page but always in Playback Devices or Computer Manager - Audio, I see that SB Arena Headset is as "Speakers" not "Headphones". What is wrong?
- i has motherboard Asus M2N-E Ultra and I installed newest drivers from nVidia nForce 570 Ultra.

Yes, I have connected it to Windows 7 64- and 32-bit machines, Windows Vista 32-bit, and Windows XP 32-bit. They all report the device as the Creative Headset Firmware Updater. When I manually install the drivers from the driver package as the SB Arena Headset, that's when it reports the device cannot power on. Thanks for your time, hopefully we can get this thing to work!

Pulseaudio and USB Headset

I have a Creative HS-950 headset and I can get sound using Pulseaudio, however, it makes Pulseaudio crash quite often. It usually happens when I start watching a video, be it on Youtube or from my disk. Normally all I have to do is choosing the headset again in the sound preferences, but it is still very annoying.
Another issue I have is that whenever I open Skype, it takes a while before my microphone works (there's not input signal for a minute or so).
Also, this doesn't happen if I use Ubuntu so I guess the headset is not the problem.
I'm using Gnome 3 (fallback mode). 64-bit system.

I've recently had to add
Enable=Source,Sink,Headset,Gateway,Control,Socket,Media
to /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf. And then restart the bluetooth service / daemon.
# systemctl restart bluetooth.service
# or, whatever ...
# rc.d restart bluetooth
Then it works again. This may just be a systemd artefact, however.

Nokia headset BH 905i - Bluetooth connection

I can not connect my headset Nokia BH 905i to my computer HP Pavilion dm3-1121ez Entertainment Notebook PC. I did download and install all the software at ; http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=4146810&
but it still does not connect.
My laptop will simply not see my Nokia BH 950i. My Nokia BH 905i works fine because I use it all the time with my Packard Bell laptop. It just will not connect to my HP Pavilion dm3-1121ez laptop ( when i press "add a Device" it will not show up).
And I have the SAME PROBLEM WITH MY Nokia 3720 classic.
I did just bye a Nokia 3720 classic mobile phone to connect to my headset BH 905i.
They say that it is compatible on the Nokia internet page :

It looks like if I was lucky one time out of three. ( Is this a joke ? )
What can it be ? My Bluetooth seams to work just fine, on my laptop it sees all the mobile phones of my neighbors but will not see my Nokia bluetooth headset. All my driver are well installed, at least it looks like it.
And my Nokia OS version is up to date, that is at least what it says on the nokia internet page when i checked and Nokia Ovi Suite give the same result.

Sorry my mistake. It works fine !
Just the way of connection to a new device is not the same, the second time, then the first time. (I don't know why ?)
1) You have to stop connection (witch is normal)
2) Then you have to press for 5 sec the button (when it is green, what means already that it is searching, at least in my mind; since green = searching and blue = connection). But no, the second time fast blue = searching.
That is what I did not get. But it is in the manual, so it is my mistake.
Still Nokia should not change colors. Give one color for connection-search and one when it is connected. And for sure don't change them.
I still really like this headset, and think that Nokia did a great job by making it. I use it a lot. So I am really happy with it.
For now nothing comes close to it. Since it has bluetooth, noise canceling, and a microphone(s).
The sound quality is good too.
Keep producing that kind of headsets. We love it !

Headset iPad 3 Skype

Hello I have a DR-BT21G Sony headset when Inplay music on skype works perfect but when I use skype sometimes the audio go to iPad speakrs instead the headset and about the voice msgs in Skype simply all play on iPad speakers instead the headset no other option. How can I make to play all audio on the headset instead the iPad speakers? Or maybe is my headset old? In case of that someone can suggest me what wireless headset I can buy tested to use skype on iPad but when in use the sound must be ob the headset not on iPad speakers. I use skype so much and I need something wireless.

USB Wireless Headset Not Working

I am a medical transcriptionist and I use a Plantronics CS50 USB wireless head set to listen to my dictations. Ever since I installed the latest upgrade for Bootcamp a few days ago, I cannot plug in my USB plug and have the sound coming through the head set and not through the Mac built in speakers. I have Win XP SP3 installed on my Windows side. Before the upgrade, my set up was working fine. Now, I have to plug in some clunky, heavy earmuff head phones into the back port of the Mac in order to hear my doctor clearly. The culprit seems to be the Realtek Audio program. I uninstalled it, and it really messed up the computer! I ended up re-installing it. I went into the Program Preferences on the Mac side and selected USB Headset as my default for ITunes, etc. It worked fine. But I still am having the same problem on the Windows side. Can someone please help me to be able to set up the computer so that my USB headset bypasses the internal speakers and allows me to hear my dictations through my wireless headset? I would really appreciate the excellent help that I know comes from Mac users. By the way, I'm a Mac newbie. Our last Apple computer was an Apple IIC from WAY back when.... thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

I am not sure, but I've tried it again.
It seems I am stupid, I should wait for a few seconds, or try more times, because it works this time when I plug in my usb kb. I can even wake up mac while it is in sleep mode.
Just one thing is different this time. the USB KB NumLock is off when I plug it in. Previously I remember the NumLock is on.
Thank you for telling me that USB KB is still working I regret to shutdown my mac previously.
