MY Compaq Presario CQ50-105EE Notebook  SHOWS: !! 0XC0190002 !! 1223/49793 (nshhttp.dll) AFTER UPDATING FOR PACK 2 AND STOP DURING THE INSTALATION. I AM USING VISTA WINDOW. THIS WAS THE LAST RESULT BEFORE I RE-START TO RECOVERY

I would use the HP recovery discs to re-install Vista.
DO you have any data you need to back up first?

    Please make sure MS-UAA has been installed properly
    How?
    Go to Device Manager under System Devices to see if MS UAA installed properly.
    There should be a listing for Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio.
    If not, you should have a PCI with yellow!
    Right click it and Update Driver,
    No to Connect, No to Search and last Install Automatically.
    Use driver below and if it fail try to force install it
    Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver (C700 series, Vx5xx and dvx5xx and ABOVE models)
    Driver modded by silver here
    Unzip to a folder..use Device Manager,right click "Audio Device on HD",choose Update driver,
    No to connect, Install from a list or specific location,
    Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
    For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
    Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
    Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
    Ignore XP when it complains, Reboot.

  • Compaq Presario CQ50-110US Laptop

    I  have the same mother board problem with my Compaq Presario CQ50-110US Laptop.  HP's Customer Service is very disappointing.
    My laptop is 1.5 years old, 6 months out of warranty.  My first call to HP was unfortunately useless.  Told too bad.  Motherboard is about $400 to replace.  I emailed customer service asking for help with the situation.  I asked if they would split the cost of the repair with me, or offer me a discount to purchase a new one.  My case was supposed to be escalated to a Case Manager that would contact me with a few days.  After 5 days, I re-emailed because I had not been contacted. It took a full week before a Case Manager called me.  Again, nothing they can do.
    Despite the fact that the sticker on my laptop says, "Built to Last", I found their responses very disappointing.  I asked if there was anything they would do to "keep me as a customer?"  Again, they will do nothing.
    I explained also that I will be buying a new laptop, a new computer for my current business and another computer system with in the next 6 months for another new business. In addition, my brother-in-law had bought the same lap top as mine based on my recommendation.  Again, nothing..no response or no help.
    Since HP is not willing to make any attempt at all to keep my as a customer, I will be purchasing a new lap top very soon made by DELL.  I will also not buy any more HP Products for personal or business use.  This is not based on my defective lap top, but on HP's poor customer service and willingness to keep a customer.

    Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.

    You mention you are performing an installation of Windows.  Is this an upgrade situation?  What operating system is currently installed and what are you upgrading to?  You may want to take a look at this page, and see if it helps.
    You can replace the motherboard by looking at your Maintenance and Service Guide, but the software hanging up does not necessarily mean the motherboard is defective.  Are you experiencing other issues and error messages?  If so, what are they?

    My employer acquired a Compaq Presario C500 Notebook, PN: RQ337UA that is out of warranty.  The hard drive has been damaged beyond repair and was not returned with the laptop.  I need to purchase a hard drive & OS. How can I find out what drivers i need?  I thought I could go to HP's website and input the PN and SN to bring up the laptop configuration, no such luck.  What sort of problems will I run into?

    Once installed, do a right click on the file sp30578.exe, select 7-Zip/extract the files and then click OK.
    Force the installation of the driver manually:
    In the device manager, right click on the audio controller, and select Update driver.
    Select install from a list or specific location Do not search. I will choose the driver to install.
    Click on next, Have Disk, and browse.
    Select the cpl3085a.inf file in the uncompressed folder sp30578, and then click Open.
    Click on OK, next and finish.
    Restart the computer.

  • Compaq Presario cq50, power.

    A while ago, I had a problem with my laptop, caused by several updates. Suddenly, it stopped working, (battery was ruined), and I thought the power cord was the problem. So I bought a new one (according to the specifications of the previous one). And effectively, it worked. Nevertheless, after a few minutes, it shut down, and the light located next to the power cord entrance was blinking. I tried to turn it on again, but it was no use. The next day, I turned it on again, worked, and after a while shut down.
    I opened it, the fan was relatively clean, and everything looked normal. 
    What do I do?
    I could work without the battery before, so I do not think that's the problem.

    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario 50 and issues with your AC adapter. What are the specs of the adapter you installed?
    Yours is 65-W  AC adapter and should not be a travel adapter.
    Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

  • Compaq presario cq50-215nr Battery melted

    I have a compaq that was runnig great then the battery  section on windows vista had a red slash tru it.
    I pulled the battery out and it has a burned in hole in it.
    I think the battery shorted out 
    Any body else had this problem ?

    I don't know what your budget is so I shopped batteries for the CQ50 on amazon.
    I found a genuine HP battery for about $50 shipped  a good deal, its $130 on the HP site
    There are plenty of real cheap knock off brands for under $20, but who knows what the quality is or if they will last very long before they die or catch fire.

  • I am trying to take out my fan in my Compaq Presario CQ50 but I can't access it....?

    I am following this guide (http://www.insidemylaptop.com/remove-mot… and I skipped removing the memory, WIFI, and DVD. I don't want to do all that. Right now I am at the part where you take over the top cover but I can't get it off. Do I have to go through removing the memory, etc; ???

    If you were having your appendix removed would you want the surgeon to skip a few steps? Follow the Service Manual would be my best advice, sir. I have not personally taken apart CQ50 but there are likely screws inside the memory compartment or under the optical drive that can only be reached by removing the memory, DVD drive, wifi card, etc. If you do not remove the wifi card and antennae leads the antenna will be in your way holding the top and bottom halves together.

  • Scanning challenge from HP C4680 to older Compaq Presario A939CA Notebook

    After an extended time not using Notebook had a need to scan some tax documents and set back up the HP Photosmart C4680 All in one printer,scanner, copier.
    Attempted to scan and scanner did not communicate with Notebook.  When using HP tools I was advised that my warranty expired last year.
    Wondering what went wrong this time.  Had previously used this printer but not a lot.

  • Compaq Presario CQ61 Notebook

    PC will not start up.  I was using my PC and it started running slow and freezing up, so I decided to reboot.  I had trouble shutting down, but after a few attempts and a long wait I was successful.  Upon the attempt to restart, I got a message that Windows failed to start and I can launch startup repair.   
    Launching the startup repair will only take me to the picture of blue rays.  I have tried starting it up normally and i get the Windows emblem.  
    I ran the System Diagnostics/Start-up test, The SMART Check Passed, The Memory Test Passed, The Start-Up Test Failed, The Run-In Test Failed, the Short DST Failed. The Hard Disk Test Failed,  It said Hard Disk 1.
    I went to the BIOS Option and ran the Primary Hard Disk Self Test and on the Long Test it stopped at 49% Complete and I received a message saying Hard Disk 1 Full (305)
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    The test results you've posted would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the start-up issue.
    If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - you can check your warranty status Here.
