My completely awesome feature request list

I love my iPhone, and here are thirteen ways I could love it more. (And maybe convince the skeptics to pick one up!)
(1) Audio streams in the iPod app. The ability to listen to internet radio while on the go would throw a pie in the face of XM and Sirius.
(2) MMS! Send picture as email isn't a good replacement. People like to send pictures to each others' phones, and not everyone has mobile email.
(3) The ability to save pics from an email (or an MMS) to my phone, which I could then use as wallpapers or in my contacts or just keep around in an album.
(4) Building on #3, more ways to share information between iPhones. For example, I would like to be able to send a contact to someone else's iPhone.
(5) Sync my to do list from iCal.
(6) I'd like to be able to add attendees when I create new events in the calendar.
(7) Keychain support. I can't remember any of my web passwords, and I'd like to either sync my keychain from my Mac, or at the very least, to have a keychain on my iPhone.
(8) iChat / AIM client. I'm sure there was probably some business reason why we didn't get it right away, but everyone wants it. Especially the Sidekick users who are holding out for AIM.
(9) In Mail, push email for IMAP mailboxes. There's already a standard way to do this: IMAP IDLE. Support IDLE, and we get push. It would be okay if I could set the check to 1 minute, but I'm assuming that would run down the battery.
(10) Mail should have junk mail filtering, and it should sync the same digests that desktop OS X Mail uses so we don't have to retrain our filters from scratch.
(11) And as long as I'm picking at Mail, we should be able to collapse nested folders. (And for nested folders to be collapsed by default.)
(12) Stereo Bluetooth headset support. Hopefully this can be upgraded in firmware.
(13) More widgets, especially the Fandango widget. The ability to run any Dashboard widget would be ideal!

Feature Request: List of linked contacts

hi there,
as there is bug with disapearing gmail contacts (those which are linked with SIM contacts if SIM card contacts display is switched off) i've tried to view all linked contacts and unlink them. i found the only way to do this is to go trough all contacts in list, check everyone is it linked or not separatelly. as usual contact list may exceed even 100 positions it is really hard task, or time consuming.
it wouldbe very nice to have:
1. a quick access to list of all linked contacts, so i may decide manually which one should be unliked, or:
2. maybe a little icon next to a contact name to indicate that contact is linked, or:
3. little icon at right side of the name which would indicate a type of storage: gmail, local phone, sim... contacts linked from few sources could have more than one icon.

Try this:
Once logged in, click 'All Files' from the top-left corner. Then click the 'Clock' symbol to 'List by when I viewed'
I realize it's not exactly what you've asked for, but it may be helpful!

Feature Request: Option to Not Autohide Video Controller

Curently, when you enable the built in video controller it will auto-hide when the cursor is not over the movie. I'd like to request you make the autohide feature a checkbox option in the Video properties area and have the video controller stay on the screen as the default behavior. Here's why.
When students come to a sheet with an enbedded video, they have no idea it's a video unless they accidentially move the cursor over the video area. It would be great to have the video controller always visible to let users know there is a video on the sheet, and would save developers some time from having to add instructions on the sheet to play the video. I'd like to remove any/all confusion the students might have in using content built by ROME.

DVDSP Features Request??

Not that apple will listen but list any features you'd like to see in upcoming versions:
- I like to see some basic editing features - cutting and pasting MPEGs, basic audio controls and an audio scope please.
- Real Video output control
- Fully integrate Compressor with DVDSP - bring your assets in and be able to adjust your settings in DVDSP. If somethings not right - go back to the assets window and makes encoding adjustments and hit "submit"
- A frame-level bitrate viewer - this would be a biggie!
- Most of all - I wish Apple would design a spec level application. I spit on Sonic and thier crappy support team. Scenarist is a pain to use well. I sit thier all day and can think of endless ways to improve it. I wonder to myself why this poor excuse for a company doesn't have any real competition.

Oh boy. I've got a whole bunch of FR's. I'm actually putting them on my blog when I get a chance. Anyway...

Sure. I think quite a few people would like that. There are OSX apps out there if you need the control right away.

It seems like a lot people would like this too. I don't really use Compressor but I'm sure those that do would welcome it. It seems to me a happy middle ground may be better cause Compressor is more than just an mpeg-2 encoder. If all the options where visible in dvdsp that would cause confusion... I'd like a hardware option from Apple...

Yeah that would be cool. I should do a feature request list for MPressionist Pro too. I use Digigami's analyzer all the time but it would be interesting to see an apple version. One of the things I want back (but an improved version) is the dvdsp 1.x.x mux window. I think apple could make a very cool and informative version of this.

Oh don't get me started on this one! I soooo wish that too. I do not want it to be part of the current dvdsp. I'd rather it be a very different app with no 'basic' mode, dropzones etc.

Yeah I have a big list of things I'd like changed/added to Scenarist but I actually don't mind it. Why no real competition? Well my thinking is cause spec authoring is a niche of a niche market. Then you throw a mac only version into that equation and the numbers don't look great! Who are you targeting? Many editors don't want to learn about PGCs, VTSs and all the good ol' spec stuff. Many Scenarist users wouldn't switch to mac. Many mac users are happy getting apps for a few hundred bucks so may not want to shell out for a spec app and support! This is one we could talk about for ages and maybe others will step up for the HD stuff... we'll see...

I'm more a business type of user - and I want to share my main problems/bug with this community in the hope that the WebOS developers read this...These bugs are so obvious and I am really wondering why these haven't been fixed immediately... BUGS: 1. Email: Delete of IMAP emails doesn't work: Each time I wipe out an email in an IMAP folder, it immediately comes back with the next email sync (which is pre-set "when new email arrives" - which happens in the day time every couple of minutes. PLEASE handle this like all the general behaviour: when wiping out then ask delete or cancel. And after deleting, move to the deleted folder. I am using the German no. 1 IMAP email service GMX (it's free), but I'm sure this happens with other email services as well. 2. PDF reader: delete of PDF files doesn't work: It was working in Version 1.3.1 - but since then it's not working anymore. I use the PDF reader, so I want to delete files from the file list by wiping out! FEATURE REQUESTS: 1. Sync of Memo with Exchange: we are waiting! Calendar, addresses and tasks are working - only missing part is memos! Do it! 2. handling address categories: I work for years with categories (no other way with over 1000 addresses) - so I need to handle categories. Just put this (Exchange-synced) field into the address and introduce a view filter in the menu. Then I can easily find addresses, like 'NYC restaurants' 3. Full text search in addresses and calendar entries: I have to search in the memo/notice field of calendar entries and addresses. This search may take longer of course, but no problem. I created a GMX account myself, to see if the issue could be with your provider specifically. Used automatic setup for the email address, and the Pre automatically recognized as IMAP. I then sent several test messages to the new gmx account from my gmail account, and after each one arrived I deleted it by swiping off from the inbox. When the new email arrived, the old previously deleted email was not in the inbox, but still in the deleted items folder where it should be.
However on the web portal for the GMX account, I saw the "original" unread email in the trash, along with a "copy" in the inbox. This seems to be a design setting for the provider, but it did not mean I kept getting deleted emails back in my inbox. Have you checked the account settings on your Pre to make sure the account is set as IMAP and not POP? If the email was set as POP by accident, that could explain why your email folders are not synchronizing.
For the PDF viewer, you are correct that you cannot delete PDF files from the view list, and unfortunately I don't have access to a 1.3.1 device to see if it was possible then. At this time, managing PDF files is best done by connecting your Pre via USB to a computer and manually deleting files there.

Add more colors to LED notification (I think they are there now, orange, green, red so far, did not see blue, I don't think blue is needed in my opinion)
Change the way to add date and time for appointment, rollbar is too slow and too sensitive.
Dismiss and Snooze buttons for Alarm to be different colors, larger, easier to notice.
Make it easier to order world clocks, instead of the order they are added.
Alarms based on days/schedule.
Easier way to get to the bottom of e-mails (I think it scrolls pretty fast, I think poster wants "B" shortcut)

Add option to ask if you really want to dial, instead of just dialing right away every time a phone number is clicked/tapped on.

Ability to load certificates (X 509 S/MIME and/or PGP/MIME) from a computer
Ability to sign and or encrypt emails (POP3) before sending (As in MS Office Outlook)

Presets for browser bookmarks, faster access to bookmarks. (My suggestion was to create a home screen, select 12 icons 3x4 or 16 icons 4x4 as home screen/start page)

Ability to adjust different sounds/volumes for different BBM users/groups
Better Voice Dial and Voice Commands (shorter and easier operation)
Ability close one or all web pages/tabs, add "Close All" button.

Faster way to delete e-mails, such as file icons next to e-mails, or Swipe to Delete! Swipe to File!?

In Playbook we can have a single character password, why not on BB10? "too short" well it is my decision, isn't it?
There is no way to go next/previous while reading an e-mail. Please add these functions.
Add to the e-mail client, Next Unread / Previous Unread.
E-mail or Hub should have more buttons at the bottom in landscape mode. Why keep only three (or four in e-mail view) buttons when you have the real estate. It would be extremely handy if you allowed users to edit which buttons should go at the bottom. Next Previous is really needed while reading an e-mail. For example I would love to add "File" button at the bottom as a shortcut instead of forward, I rarely forward, but I file all the time. Maybe allow users to have two row of keys, add next/previous/unread. Or it could be done with a gesture. How about swiping the account name (top blue bar while reading e-mail) left and right?
When you create a new contact in BlackBerry, it gets synced to all accounts on the Hub. There is no way to limit the new contact to a specific account.
Sometimes when you file an e-mail to a folder, it stops and waits few seconds with no message. Even when it files immediately, there is a confirmation message that takes time to appear and disappear, and the folder list does not disappear automatically.
Messages filed automatically by server using server side filter rules are still showing up on Blackberry hub/inbox. In older BB versions the filtered messages did not show up in the list, filed messages still did.
When you filter your e-mails using Filter / Unread function, new unread e-mails do not show up until you close the filter and re-open. It won't just keep refreshing your screen with unread e-mails. Can BB add a button to the hub "Unread Hub" so when hub shows 8 or 2, you can actually see unread items easily without having to through so many taps.
Native BB QR scanner (Smart Tags) does not work with barcodes (it only scans with no way to use the information). There is Open In function but it doesn't work properly.
We need to add more customs search providers, and be able to add custom search strings/wildcards. For example currently there is Google, Bing, Yahoo, Foursquare, etc..
I hope BB introduces the ability include more standard & custom searches, IMDB, PriceGrabber, Ebay, Youtube, XYZ Forums, ABC Newspaper, 123 Database, Etc.. Most sites nowadays provide search string in their URL Search=?* etc...
None of the Battery apps can access system settings to add a battery icon to the top. I wish battery percentage was there.
There is no way to check carrier/mobile signal strength.
Blackberry, please add the date and carrier / SSID info to the top. Sometimes we just want to glance at the top to see the date without having to swipe.
Please bring back keyboard shortcuts. Since we can easily swipe up to bring the keyboard, just add keyboard shortcuts in e-mail, phone (true speed dialing, dialing by word?), and browser, etc.. if possible. I could always call 1800SOMETHING# now I have to look up the number or use dial pad.. Please bring it back.
Camera zoom function needs to be fixed, also please include option of fixed focus by tapping on the screen to focus. The auto focus in video is focusing in and out to various objects all the time. Stabilization feature also causes tearing/ripples, I guess it is good if you are stationary. Or use Volume Keys to Zoom.
Please allow more than 12 icons in an icon group/folder, I hated Apple for limiting apps per folder, please fix it.
Auto ON/OFF feature is not there anymore. BB should consider Auto DND (DoNotDisturb) or Auto Silent/Airplane modes instead.
Please find a way to stop the music app from automatically starting up every time it connects to bluetooth like car audio. This is very annoying.
No Panaroma mode in Camera app, why not? It is very easy to incorporate. This could be a nice addition to next release, and easy.
The text selection grips needs to be a little bigger, sometimes I cannot see where I am moving them, they work better in Playbook, nice big tabs.
Call Functions, before answering a phone add sideways gesture functions, like swiping right will forward the call, swiping left will answer with a test message, etc..
Or there should be a way to reject the call without sending it to voice mail, phones had this function a decade ago, I don't know what happened to it.
We used to be able to see the "History" without having to save the contact. Now I don't see any way to "View History" of a certain phone number, it just keeps adding
them as individual entries to the log. Now I can't see when was the last time they called me, how many times we spoke which day, etc... I loved this feature in BB5.
Where is BB Traffic? Where is BB Weather, without having to run an active frame? It will eventually disappear if you run too many apps. I liked a little Icon that shows me what the temp is, instead of running a whole app.
There is no Skype. This day and age with all other platforms having it, please either get skype (Microsoft) to cooperate, or open up BBM to other platforms. If necessary, pay Skype to develop the app, then charge BB users for the app. Most will gladly pay.
Can we tap and hold on an active frame to pin it, or can we pin two favorite apps between Call and Search & Search and Camera buttons in the bottom bar? How about Close All running Active Frames app to quickly free up ram?
I hope next generation devices have two speakers or speaker that is facing forward. When playing games or watching videos in landscape mode, I find my palm muting the speaker. I have to hold it gently with fingers to have a gap in between, something I don't want to do when I am on the subway or bus.
Blackberry Maps should have a Zoom In/Zoom Out buttons, sometimes using it with one hand, it is impossible to zoom in and out. (Zoom in is OK but we can't zoom back out)

- ability to choose deletion of an email on handset only
- desktop software working with all older BB's allowing drag and drop type of transferring data, contacts etc. (BB link doesn't recognize my old Storm)

What feature request(s) would you like to see included in future updates, say OS10.3.2 and beyond? Of course, there's nothing official to this thread, but one never knows who might view it and get an idea or two to move foward.

Let's simple short statements AND please add the value of your request (i.e., why that feature request has value to you):
Ability to lock the volume keys (since they are so easliy pressed when retrieving from holster)
Implement a shutdown confirmation screen to the top edge power key before shutting down (many pocket carrying users complain of device shutdowns in their pocket).
Allow BlackBerry Protect to automatically backup and restore personal data, such as contacts (I trust BlackBerry to protect our data and other third party apps can do this already).

Cool! I was waiting for this, there are a few things I would like to see.
OS
- No frames option (for the people that want this), this means that you swipe up it will never go to a active frame
- Keep swiping to close, when you keep swiping up it will close the app/frame (like on playbook I think it was)
- Auto reboot, choose a day, time when your phone restarts (and unlocks after reboot) this is nice for people that want their phone to reboot when they sleep so they have a fresh start and don't have to reboot during work day
- Alternative keyboard, everyone knows the BlackBerry keyboard is awesome.. but allow developers to create own keyboards (native, no android port)
- Themes, One reason why people jailbreak iPhone or use Android or loved BBOS. Themes that will totally transform your phone, keyboard, colours will be nice for people that want to customize their device
- Font type change, this was possible in BBOS. Some people like to have a different font.
- Completely light OS, this is something personal; some people like dark theme, some people like light.. but with the latest BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 it is still mixed up, some parts are light some parts are dark. When selecting light theme everything should be light, all core apps, buttons, everything, when you select dark everything will be dark, and then there will be a customize option where you can set it for each app (core apps and layout) how you want it
- Show date, time, signal always on top-option, Remember.. screenshots on internet are shown a lot, when posting a screenshot of a BlackBerry 10 app nobody knows its BlackBerry, with BBOS you always had time, signal, on top people knew it was a BlackBerry and would be nice to get this back, plus no need for swiping up to see the time
E-mail
- Able to create filters, example move e-mails from this person to this folder, and give them this colour or move everything with this word in header or subject and delete it forward it and more.
- "Out of Office", able to set out of office for work emails / accounts as automatic reply
Hub
- More colours, now there are only a few

- PIN transfer, take your BlackBerry PIN to your new device. I really liked my old BB pin but when I sold the device I lost it, it would be nice to be able to "keep" my BBM pin or get a personal pin
- Add user my phone number if linked, BBM Pin is awesome but allow users to also add people with phone number so you can give your phone number or pin If my contacts get BBM but forget to give their pin they will just show because I have their phone number

Feature Request : provide a way to create access policies or identities with matching condition based on the HTTP header's "Referer" field

I have a use-case I would like to share with you. When a customer configures its WSA with highly restrictive internet access like in the example below, it may trigger some issues :
1- allow internet access only for URLs defined in whitelist.
2- block ALL other requests.
Let's take the following example :
1- the customer only allow requests to www.siteA.com. siteA.com is the only URL included in its whitelist.
2- www.siteA.com contains many embedded objects (such as facebook like tags, youtube videos, links to partners sites, ...)
In this configuration, the end user will be allowed to reach siteA but the page will not be fully displayed. All the embedded objects not directly located on siteA will be missing.
With WSA, the easiest way I can imagine to solve the issue is to list all the embedded objects present on siteA, get back their URL and also add these URLs to the whitelist. But this solution if of course far to be really convenient since it involves to know exactly how each HTTP page you want to consult is built.
With other proxies, such as Bluecoat proxies or McAfee Web Gateway proxies for example, I used to solve this kind of issue by using the HTTP referer field (the URL you come from). For example with Bluecoat :

ALLOW request.header.Referer.url.domain=//www.siteA.com/
=> All requested objects from siteA.com will be automatically allowed by the proxy, even if they are not part of my whitelist.
- Do you have a better suggestion than the one I'm currently using with WSA (adding each sites in whitelist) ?
- Would it be possible to add the field HTTP referer as a matching condition for Identities and access policies in your next release ?

As far as I'm aware this functionality is still not available... would be an awesome feature to have, but could also be abused at the same time by a user writing their own "middleware" proxy and setting the referrer header to that allowed site.. could be done in like ~15 lines of perl / python.
Either way... would still be a cool feature to have.

Feathering and invert on Garbage Mattes
A Track Matte function that allows us to pan and scale the clip being matted without affecting the matte size or position. You could do this with a Stencil / Silhouette Alpha / Luma Blend mode as in Ae.
MISC:
When using Clip > Scale to Sequence, DO NOT have the new Scale factor in the Motion tab change the clip's scale to 100%.
Consistent Mouse Wheel behavior across all apps in CS
Scopes update while playing.
Make Export and Title windows return to the previously adjusted size and placement.
Add a command buffer, so that we can execute several commands in a row, and not wait for the app to "release", or for the first event to complete before I can proceed to the next event.

Some feature you posted are great. How about a eyedropper tool for the Color Matte?
I find the Magnet for Snap quite visible. There is also this feature in the Pref to make the playhead snap.

1DC thoughts + feature requests

Hello,
It has been just under a year now that I acquired the 1DC and have actually totally, completely fallen in love.
Although my short little fashion run-n-gun films show my poor DP abilities, this camera is an absolute dream for a imager suchas myself- functioning as a combined top of the line stills + cinema camera that never ceases to amaze me.
Whether shooting in total darkness at >10k ISO in color under a single street lamp- or in rush hour on the sidewalks of Manhattan- grabbing takes in between buses dropping off 75 people every 120 seconds walking in my FOV . . . the 1DC continues to impress . . . and I am now a firm believer.
As always- we find ourselves hoping for a few tools to improve with what we have-
and although I am certain 2.0 is in teh works, I hope the results will show Canon's continued commitment to it's professional userbase . . who have long been loyal . . . and will continue to be if Canon delivers like they have with this amazing product.
Hence:
A few Firmware 2 or 2.x feature requests:
focus peaking + zebra
120 fps at 720p or 1080p.
60 fps or higher at Super 35.
True 1080p at 60 fps.
slightly improved canon log (LOVE Canon Log) to extend dynamic range a wee bit furthe, and some sort of dithering of the 8 bit output to help prevent banding
and the holy grail: enable raw output ,or if possible 10 bit or slightly less compressed output - even if it means we need to move to newer, faster CF cards (and even if it requires a nominal fee Canon service center mod)
This camera is by far the most powerful, fastest, muscular, filmic, and surprising piece of imaging equipment I have ever owned.
It is a testament to every person on the Canon team involved in its conceptualization and production, and I thank each and every one of them for their efforts and the outcome.

And I want to add: I open this topic becuase I googled my heart out but could find no real feature list request discussions for 1DC firmware in one area or thread . . . I am sure they are around and maybe here, but thought I would open the topic as I am sure there are expert users who have more insight who might add here, and I thought it might be helpful to Canon as well.

Feature request - Disable packet data

I would like to make a feature request for the otherwise awesome phone Nokia Asha 302. You have done a great job there, the phone is very nice and popular.
Can you please make an additional setting, so that we can DISABLE packet data completely? Currently, only two options are available - 'when needed' and 'always on'.
I see a lot of people are using different bizzare techniques to overcome a basic problem - there is no setting to disable packet data. Why there isn't, is beyond me, and as far as I can tell - beyond a lot of people. It is most intuitive to make it 'yes' and 'no' in the first place, but engineers made it 'yes' and 'yes, please' instead, which does not make any sense. It is a source of MAJOR frustration and inconveniences - applications fire up the internet and keep it always on, leading to battery drain and unwanted bandwidth charges.
So, can you please implement 3 states in Settings - Connectivity - Packet data&colon;
- always on
- when needed
- disabled
I would go even further and ask to make a shortcut (like WiFi and Bluetooth) and a dedicated hardware key, since I think it is a base setting that needs to be easily accessible.
Please do it as soon as possible, since it is a major shortcomming, and make a release immediately. My phone is Asha 302, but I think all S40 users are complaining of the same.

Yes, this is a feature which is definitely required.
It will reduce power consumption by a lot, and also save us valuable bandwidth.
Please consider implementing it. If there is a new release, please let us know.

AMP Feature request thread

I've just started trying to use the AMP for some home entertainment and I must say it has been a challenge to enjoy this product in its current form. Perhaps I dont have a grasp on what the expressed functions of the player are, and what advantages can it offer me over the myriad of other players and services.
I can find nowhere else to leave feedback and suggestions or have dialog with adobe developers so I thought, like in many other Adobe product forums, to begin a feature request thread in hopes that if enough users add feedback we may eventually have an improved product. In the same regard users can enlighten others as to what functions they find useful already. Its not meant to be a gripe list but a chance to voice constructive ideas and share experience with the product.
Preamble complete, I will have first go:
1) The system options seem very limited to me, for instance I can not find an option to view or change in what directory\folder the video files are downloaded or cached to.
2) A minimized view or skin would add benefit for me. It seems now the only options are full screen and a small window housed inside the AMP program window. With any other media player I have used one can play a file in a resizable window without all the other program buttons and menus eating up your screen space.
3) Video controls options during playback, like chroma level, brightness/contrast, gamma. This is standard on other players.
4) I get annoyed when I am watching a video and I pause and go to the home or favorites tab, AMP automatically disconnects the video I was playing, and the I must search the catalogue to find it, restart it, and re-watch the commercials if any to re-cue it to the last viewing spot.
5) I dont really appreciate the default favorites or new episodes listed. That is not needed.
6) There are no right click menus? Odd. At the least I would like to be able to right click a video file to pull up information on it. In fact, I would like any method of looking at files information. This goes hand in hand with the general lack of user options throughout the program.
7) Last one for now, but a big one. Why in the world would AMP not support more video formats? I, like most computing people, horde all kinds of different media files in my various libraries. If AMP cant play them it has a big disadvantage to all of the other ubiquitous media players out there.
Thats it for starters. Hopefully I will start get more familiar with the program and then find more benefits. Please, add to this thread if you have any thoughts on the AMP.

1. Ability to skip forward (fast forward) through a video or rewind video.
2. Point AMP to a set of folders containing personal videos I want to watch in AMP. Right now, if I have a series of videos that form one full course, I have to eliminate the previous course videos so they do not get mixed in with the new course videos.
3. Ability to go back to where I was in the video when the Internet goes down (or flickers) rather than play from beginning.
4. By the way, why are the TV shows going away? This was the No. 1 reason we installed AMP on our multimedia computer!

Feature Request: Make a Setting Option for Export - Media - What to Render

As I just changed after many years with Premiere Elements to Pro, I certainly find many things just anconversant.
But there's one thing I really can't take: When I'm trying to render a project, there's a small selection list near the bottom of the "Export Media" window saying "export area". Here I can choose between "complete sequence", "work area", "sequence in/out" and "defined by user". This option jumps always back to "work area"!
That's at least for me very unconveniant, because in 99+ % of my renderings, I need "complete sequence". Normally the software remembers the last used setting, but not in this case. I can imagine that one can fight about what's the best default setting: I Guess everyone is using Premiere differently. So in my opinion a predefined setting option would solve best for all: Just add one mor setting in the Presets section, maybe in "General" or make a new rubric "Export" or something. Just a place where everyone can predefine which setting for the export media area option he likes.
No big deal, just one more presettings option!
