I was restoring my iPhone and my computer froze I selected to exit iTunes which it allowed me to do but it said I would have to re-do the restore. Now my phone is stuck and not recognized by itunes
Hello Rcomer123
Check out the articles below as they will assist and guide you to get your iPhone back up and running. The first one is a general for restoring your iPhone and putting it into recovery-mode when it stuck and can’t get to your normal home screen. The last two articles are for more for if you still cannot get it to show up on your computer, just pick the one that goes with what type of computer that you use regularly.

iCloud Backup is for your iPad, not for your computer.
Whatever you bought from iTunes is yours forever and can be downloaded as many times as you want. This assumes what you purchased is still available in the Store.
Here is the procedure for your reference.
On a computer, launch iTunes. Click on iTunes Store on the left
On the right you will see this
"Sign in" using the Apple ID used to purchase your songs, then click on "Purchased" (with the orange blob)
On the summary page that appears select the tab "Not on This Computer" on the right.
On the list that appears, select what you want and then click the "Download" button.
Whatever you have that did not originate from iTunes will have to be obtained from whatever means you used to obtain it in the past. -

I have a Macpro Book and I just downloaded new software to my ipod touch(3rd gen). Now it does not show up in itunes nor does it turn on. I believe it just downloaded the software and never updated it. What do I do?
You appear to have a second generation iPod touch, not a third, and those can't be updated past 4.2.1. Apple sold 8GB second generation models at the same time as the third generation ones.

Computer rebuild due to virus, now itunes does not recognize user account
My computer was infected and had a computer guru clean and restore computer. When he name the computer I guess he named it differently or something. I receive the error message, and I can't figure out how to save the window as a picture, message says,
The information on the iPhone "iphone name" is synced with another user account. Do you want to sync this iPhone with the information from this user account instead?
"Merge Info" merges the information on this iPhone with the information from this user account.
"Replace Info" replaces the information on this iPhone with the information from this user account.
Okay, I'm already freaking out because the first message that I cancelled was
"The iPhone "iphone name" is synced with another iTunes library on "pc name". Do you want to earse this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?
An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library.
So, my question is this, I do NOT want to risk losing my photos, or things like that, to include, since the rebuild my Outlook .pst was not saved, so I just noticed that there are no contacts on my computer.
What should I do? I have been able to back up my iPhone the best I can tell according to iTunes, but when I try to sync that is when I get the above messages.
Thank you,

My computer has Bitlocker encryption. When I plug in my iPod Shuffle to the USB port, iTunes does not recognize it. When asked to encrpt the Shuffle I say no, but still not recognized. When I encrypt it, still not recognized (even after it was restored by iTunes). Any suggestions please?
Did you find a solution?

Hi scotty2hotty1972,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. This article has some steps you can try if iTunes isn't recognizing your optical drive:

I upgraded from Iphone 3g to iphone 4. I had to update my macbook pro to Lepard just to sync. the **** thing with the new iphone 4. I bought and updated to lepard. Now when I try to sync itunes does not recognize my new iphone 4 as mine and wants to erase everything I have bought using the phone before it will sync! It says everything on the phone now will be cleared in order to sync it with my existing info on the computer from my previous iphone. How can I just get everything from my current iphone 4 into itunes, basically add it to the info from my previous iphone 3g that is currently in my itunes? I dont want to lose what I have on my phone currently....I paid money for half the apps for crying out loud.
I was so frustrated by this when I first bought the phone that I just pushed it out of my mind and NEVER synced it. Please help...Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. There's only a few things that could be my passcode, but because it disables for an hour, it is time consuming trying to figure it out. What do I do? I do not care about having to erase everything since it's new and there's nothing on it, but it was never synced with iTunes.
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
After updating iTunes this week Windows 8 recognizes the iPod but does not offer an option to open with iTunes. iTunes does not recognize iPod Touch. Have followed all the steps but without success. Is there a solution with iTunes?
I followed all the instructions on the suggested page. Many files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\ could not be deleted. Message said ""Cannot delete files: It is being used by another person or program"' but could not find iPodService.exe in task manager (also, the "Cannont delete ... " did not mention iPodService.exe).
Deleted all that I could. Reinstalled iTunes. Still same result. iTunes and computer both recognize my old iPod. Only the computer recognizes iPod Touch. -
This is first Ipod for me - I have had less than one day. Screen is frozen with itunes emblem and cable. Unable to refresh/restore or do anything with ipod. I turn off/on and get the same frozen screen. My computer does not recognize ipod. Itunes does not recognize ipod so I cannot restore.... Should I take this ipod back and get a new one? Is this normal?
Before you can use the iPod you have to activate it by connecting it to a computer with iTunes. Try the following to get your computer to see the iPod so you can activate the iPod.
