My computer crashed and I lost EVERYTHING, and my Ipod won't connect with the new Itunes I got without deleting everything on my Ipod. HELP!
Please help me, this is really upsetting. I really would like my Itunes to work. The message that pops up is saying that it will only transpher purchased items and I downloaded a lot of CDs so if you can please help me it would be lovely.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
If you've wiped your computer/bought a new one...
You should be able to:
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

I have recently downloaded the new itunes. My computer will open itunes but then a screen pops up that says Itunes has stopped working and must close. This happens every time and i can not by pass it. I am afraid all my music is gone as well. I found on my computer that its an incompatible app. What does that mean exactly? I have recently updated my computer since my old one broke and therefore had to download a new iTunes. When I came to add my iPod to this new iTunes, I was given no option to transfer the contents of my iPod library to this new iTunes and was forced to try 'sync'; when my old computer was repaired once we lost all of our data so I had to download a new iTunes then,all of my iPod downloads were transferred and I could easily reburn my CDs so I didn't think the wiping of my iPod would be a problem. When I clicked 'sync' it warned me that it would replace the contents of my iPod with the new iTunes library, as I said I didn't think this would be a problembut then it asked if it should transfer my recent iTunes downloads so I said 'yes'. The sync was completed but now I only have 4 downloaded songs and 5 albums which I burned to my new iTunes! I have lost all the music I bought, all the videos I bought and all the audiobooks I bought! (Luckily I still have my apps.) I tried to restore backup but realised that only covers calendars, contacts E.T.C and I checked my iTunes account and that shows all my downloads but I can't see a way to restore them or anything like that!
Please help! I am in despair as you can imagine how much moneys worth I have lost and am losing faith in AppleCorrect. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
Attempts to sync an iDevice to a new computer will remove all content from the device and replace it with content from the new, empty library. -

The computer insnt letting me update the new itunes. So i deleted it all and now it ses when i try to download a new one that it cant delet the old itunes ... what could i do
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Audio and speakers issues with the new iTunes 7

I also have an audio problem after installing the new iTunes 7. It seems after iTunes have finished "determining the gapback playback information", all audio from iTunes and Quicktime only comes through my two front speakers. I have a 5.1 setup for my computer and it seems is only a iTunes and Quicktime issue since Windows media plays the audio just fine. Anybody know what the issue could be? I'm on Windows XP by the way.
I have checked my speaker setup and sound card and this problem does not occur in Windows media or any other media software. It seems that it only occurs with iTunes and Quicktime.Yet another person with the exact same problem, with the same sound card. Everything is up-to-date. I've tried all of the other "fixes" but its either done nothing, or given me use of my rear speakers but added an awful awful ear shattering static. I've tried everything. I even stood on one foot.
Furthermore, my EAX options do not work with iTunes 7 either, though they work with the older versions. I can't even adjust the speaker balance (front to rear, right to left). This is an isolated problem, only with the new iTunes and QuickTime. Everything else on my computer works just dandy, and cooperates with my speakers (5.1 surround) and my EAX settings.

2nd generation ipod won't connect to the internet, and i've never had a problem with it before.
My ipod won't connect to the wi-fi but our computer will.
- Reset the iPod. Nothing wil be lost
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router

How do I manually transfer music with the new itunes update for Windows? I don't want to sync my library and lose all of my music for what I have in my current library.
The same way it was done in every previous version.
Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?
Is this not the computer that the device is normally synced with? -
Hello- after updating to the new iTunes i got a box saying that i needed a new version of Apple Mobile Device Support and ihat i should uninstall iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support then install iTunes again. (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
My laptop died so I've installed itunes onto another PC and my music is all on an external hardive which is connected to the new PC. How can I sync my ipod with the new itunes and get all the music onto itunes?
You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. I updated my 4s to ios7 and the phone is now completly dead. I tried to restore it with the new itunes but it won't restore. If you can't get the download be glad! Anyone have any ideas other than going out and buying a new Samsung phone? I don't really need a paper weight.
No not jailbroken. After the update which took about 45 minutes. The phone went black. Dead. Wouldn't restart. Using the new itunes I tried to restore it. It went through the motions; the white Apple and progress bar appeared on the iphone screen. Then I got a message "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes." Then the phone went completly dead again. I Repeated the process and got the same results. Is there another way to restore the phone if it's dead, besides itunes?
