I wish I could help, but I am in a similar situation.
I need to deactivate it because we are getting rid of the computer it is on and are buying a new one. When I go to Help there is no Deactivate option. The only options are: "Help", "Hide Coach", "Tip of the Day", "Adobe Website", "Technical Support Website", "Frequently Asked Questions", "Check for Updates", "Register", "Download e-License..." (Greyed out), "Return e-License..." (Greyed out) and "About Adobe Visual Communicator 3". I spoke with support through chat and they said my product was no longer supported.

And if you add the media into a new library, or didn't manage to recover it all you may have problems syncing your device without losing data. Those issues are addressed in the user tip Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

My old computer crashed. I was able to connect its old hard drive as an external drive to my new computer. I would like to recover all my old bookmarks (there was no prior backup on the old drive).

Is there a file in which bookmarks are stored which I may copy from the old drive to the new one to restore the old bookmarks? Thanks!
(I still have the original Firefox files on the old hard drive, including the one I presume contains all my old bookmarks.)

My Macbook Pro began crashing when I tried running safari. An error message came up asking that I repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run repair, computer shut down. Now I can not get it to boot. I tried booting in safe mode to no avail. Pls help.

Recently, my mid 2010 MacBook Pro has started acting up when I am on Safari. Safari would unexpectedly crash multiple times in a row, then run fine for a while, then again, crash repeatedly. Not long after this began happening, an error message from my Prosoft Drive Genius 3 software, threw out a message that a serious error had occurred and I needed to repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run the software to repair the HD volume, the machine stopped working. I turned off the Macbook and when I tried to restart, it would not boot. I have since removed all external hardware from my machine and tried several times, unsuccessfully, to boot. I have also tried booting in safe mode when also does not work.
Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Try SMC reset:
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. (four keys together)
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

I had been experiencing various app crashes and a general slow-running system on my iPhone, so I decided that it would be best if I restored it. However, before I was able to do so, my iPhone completely crashed and I was forced to do a restore without properly backing it up. This was not a very smart move on my part, as I had downloaded several apps (some of which were 'free for a limited time') on the iPhone which weren't transferred to my computer. One of these apps in particular, which was free for a limited time, I used frequently. I was wondering, as I did download it and was using it for over a month, if there is a way that I can re-download that app without having to pay for it (now its price has returned to normal). I know that the original price is not very expensive - and if paying is the only way to get it again, I am fine with it - but I was just wondering if there was a chance that I could download it for free. Thanks for any suggestions!

if you don't have a backup of your itunes/Mobile Applications folder which was part of your regular PC -backup routine or a backup of your iphone backup, you'll probably have to buy the app again. Even if you show the developers of the app your itunes download history, you would be very lucky if they grant you a second download for free.

Alright, so, my computer crashed before I could unsync my iPod from the iTunes installed on it and before I could save my music to CD. It's now dead and long gone-- a hopeless cause.

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

You can hide them via your computer's iTunes : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support
The 'x' might not show on their top left corner (it might be invisible), but clicking where it should be should hide the app.

Well, the Import/Export instructions make it seem as if the two computers should be able to communicate this file thru wifi, but that's the linkage I can't seem tocreate with Import/Export. Should I instead email a copy to myself (thats what applecare suggested)? Copy it to and from a thumb drive? But then place the file where? And the article was helpful, but should I be trying to move the Library file or the Library.xml file (as iTunes Help suggests)? Sorry to be so clueless about it...I suppose I buy Apple in the hopes of not having to think about this stuff, which approach seems not to be serving me well. Thanks again for your time!

I received my week 16 MBP yesterday morning. It has been perfect thus far. Quite the improvment over my old iBook. I do hear some noises rarely but not enough to make me think there is a problem, I believe they are just the standard purrs and ticks of a high-powered computer. It doesn't run hot. I'd say cool to rather warm if used heavily. I hope I have a problem free experiance. I would hate for this product to tarnish Apple's reputation, that would be unacceptable considering this product is amazing. I will say this; I called Applecare, more out of curiousity than anything else and told them that I had just purchased an MBP and, while mine was fine, I had heard allot of disturbing reports about noise and heat. I asked point blank if Apple was aware of any issues and if they where working to resolve it. The answer I got was surprisingly forward. I was informed that they were "VERY" aware and working to correct the issues. He then told me I was lucky to recieve one of the quiet MBPs. I hope they work it out soon.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
