I just bought a new macbook air so I know I have to install all my applications and softwares again but I was told I could get my old itunes library I mean all the music I bought back in my new laptop. can someone tell me how to do it or if I can?Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
For apps, look here for instructions on redownloading. For songs, movies, and videos, if you don't have a backup of your purchased items, either on external media or another computer and don't have them on an iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad), you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your content.
If you have your content on an iOS device, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

I had a itune library on one computer and it got damaged. I went out and bought myself another computer thinking that when I sign in my old library would come up. Wrong. Since I was unaware of this I did not back up my songs. Now I am trying to obtain my information from my old computer. I just have the songs on my Ipod touch which I can not seem to transfer to the new computer. I can not be the only one that this has happen to. I have all the information a person would require. How do I get my information from my old library back onto the new computer
There is a program called Migration Assistant that can help, this is the Mac to Mac article, there is a similar article for PC to Mac.

I was wondering how I can authorize my new computer to play the music I have purchased on Itunes? MY old computer is completely broken and won't turn on so when I downloaded iTUNES on my new computer it won't let me play the other songs I bought through my old computer. when i put my ipod in i lost about 250 songs, is there any way of getting them back? I can't get data from the broke computer because windows is screwed up on it. When i try to purchase music i get a " You've already bought this song" pop up so i was wondering if there is any way of getting my music back.
You can try asking for another download, but they aren't obligated to do that.

My old mac = dead. Bought a new one - how do I open my old iTunes library?
It's stored on an external hard drive. I've searched the forums and found out about holding down function and opening iTunes, but when I choose library and click on my external hard drive it just lists all the artists rather than a folder containing them all. Any help would be much appreciated as the only thing that stopped me killing myself when my old mac died was knowing I had all my music on the external hard drive.

When I went to Itunes I deauthorized all computers and then authorized my new one but I can not get my prevous purchases and I can not add my new purchases to my IPods with out it deleting all the music. How can I transfer everything that was on the old computer to this new one?
Whether you can redownload previous purchases depends upon the type of item (audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads), what country that you are in (music, films, TV shows can't be redownloaded in all countries), and whether the item is still in your country's store (content providers occasionally remove their items) - what you can redownload will show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage
Or you should be able to copy purchases back from your iPod via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option (if the drop-down menus aren't showing then control-B should get them to show).
If you have music from other sources on your iPod (e.g. copied from CDs) then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

You can re-download your apps and ibooks purchases via your purchase history in iTunes on your computer (assuming that it's version 10.3+), and if you are in the USA then you can also re-download music I think - more info here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
For music that you ripped from CDs or bought from a source other than iTunes then, assuming that you made/maintained one, you can copy them from your backup - and backups are relatively easy to maintain, so there is no reason not to have one (especially as content is occasionally removed from iTunes so isn't always available for re-download). Otherwise there may be third-party programs that can copy them off the iPad, but you can't do it via iTunes - this post from a year ago was about iPod/iPhone to computer utilities but some might work with the iPad : https://discussions.apple.com/message/11646661?messageID=11646661� .
If you've got content in other apps that you want to copy back to your computer then you might be able to do via the file sharing section at the bottom of the iPad's apps tab in iTunes, or they might have wifi transfer capability. -
How do I restore my Ipad 4 from my desktop computer? My charger was damaged so I bought a new one but it won't charge. On my Ipad, I have a BATTERY bar in the middle that is flashing RED and an icon on the bottom that looks like the end of a charger. I have tried to force into reset mode, by holding the sleep key and home button SEVERAL times but it does NOT work. I have plugged my Ipad into my desktop computer, but I do not have a screen on my desktop that is coming up. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE AFTER I DID AN UPDATE AND WAS LOCKED OUT AND I USED EITHER ICLOUD OR ITUNES TO RESTORE, NOT SURE WHICH AND I FORGOT HOW.

you can get your apps back by looking at you download history after signing in in itunes.
for the songs if they were purchased from the itunes store, same method.
if they were just mp3 files dowloaded from somewhere else, unless you have them saved somewhere, sorry man.
