  • Computer Crashed - How Can I Get My Songs Back?

My computer crashed so I had to reinstall itunes. Now when I plug in my ipod shuffle it tells me my ipod is linked to another library and asks if I want to replace all of my songs with the songs from this library. I have over 200 songs on my ipod, many that I bought and I don't want to lose them all. Is there any way that I can get the songs on my ipod shuffle onto my itunes?

Are the songs only on the pod? It also sounds like from the urgency that you don't have a backup. Computers crash or hardware fails all the time, this is why backups are soooo important. Lecture over, sorry about that.
This link has several suggestions to getting the music off the pod.

  • I got a new computer so how do i get my itunes back?

i got a new laptop and i wanted to put my itunes on it but im afraid if i plug in my ipod its goint to erase all my music. is there any way i can get my itunes onto my computer safley and w/ out have to import all of my cds again?

If you have all of your music on your iPod, you can transfer that way:

If not, you can copy and paste your iTunes folder (as long as all of your music is in this folder).
Otherwise you need to move you current music folder to your new location:

  • If my computer crashed how can I get my itunes from my ipod onto my new pc without losing when syncing up?

my pc crashing some time ago -- want to add new songs to my iPod but don't want to lose the songs I have on there now.  Anyway to do that?

You should transfer the song files from your iPod to your current computer, add them to the iTunes library, and sync your iPod to that library (after confirming all of those songs are there now).
Any songs purchased from the iTunes Store can be re-downloaded, at no cost, using the Purchased screen in the iTunes Store.
For other songs, you can't transfer from iPod to computer using iTunes.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  Add "mac" to the search if you use a Mac.
That would be the safest way to proceed, because you will then have a backup of the iPod's songs on the computer (in case the iPod breaks, gets lost, or needs a "Restore").  However, if you decline to sync when you first connect the iPod, it should get set to "Manually manage music."  When it is set that way, you should be able to add new songs to it manually (by dragging songs to it in iTunes).  But again, it would be safest to have ALL the songs (on the iPod) in the iTunes library on the computer first.

  • Computer crashed, how do i get my itunes from my ipod to my computer again?

    Hello,
A couple of weeks ago my computer picked up a virus and went death blue. I have reformatted my hard drives and re-installed everything including latest version of itunes. I have connected my ipod to my computer and it recognizes it but I cannot figure out how to transfer my library from my ipod back to my computer? Any ideas? I hope this makes sense. Any questions? Thanks for your time.

A quick search on the forums could have answered this for you, but oh well:

    You cannot.
You buy one and only one download.  It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

  • My old computer crashed how do i get the music from my ipod to sinc with my itunes library?

My old computer crashed how do i get the music from my ipod to sinc with my itunes library?

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For music that you've bought from other sources or copied from your own CDs then have you not got a backup of them on, for example, an external drive that you can copy onto the computer ? If not then you will need to find a third-party program to copy them off - this post mentions some that were around a couple of years ago, whether they still exist and work I don't know.

  • When your computer crashes how do your get the music on your iphone back on your new computer

when your computer crashes how do your get the music on your iphone back on your new computer?

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases
