  • Bold 9700 won't let me sync with Windows 7 computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software version 6

I just got a new computer with Windows 7.  I installed version 6 of BlackBerry Desktop Software.  It installed just fine.  When I connect my Bold 9700 to it the software recognizes the phone and has the list of model, PIN, and phone number.  It allows me to backup the device - but not sync it.
I went to configure my sync settings.  It goes to the screen for me to set the sync options for calendar, memo pad, etc.  I selected calendar.  It asks me which application I'm using and I select Microsoft Outlook (I'm using Outlook 2010).  I choose 2 way sync.  So, up to this point it's working correctly.  But, then when I hit "next" on this screen it gives me an error message - the operation terminated unexpectedly.  I have no clue what's going on.

I have the same problem and have tried one way sync's, deleting and re-entering the calendar entries made around the time the problem started. If it is a corrupted entry, I can't find it.

BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which is synchronized with the desktop applications on the Mac computer (for example: Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly to or from the desktop applications on the Mac computer.
Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, therefore, it is not possible to synchronize Contact or Calendar information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on these versions of OS X.
For more information on SyncServices and OS X Mavericks, see the following Apple Support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5847
Note: BlackBerry Desktop software 2.4 is still supported for use with Mac OS X v10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Interesting...well, I am downloading it right now with no 404, which would I think rule out a problem at the RIM webisite end. So, the only thing I can think of is that there is something in your internet routing that is somehow blocking it. Maybe you should start over from this point:
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
I was also going to comment that RIM does not yet support Desktop Software 7.x, but that seems to have changed sometime today!
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry Desktop Software 6 will not install

    Hi
I am having real trouble installing Blackberry Desktop software 6, my problems started when my computer downloaded Blackberry Desktop Software 6 and a McAfee virus protection update at the same time then tried to install them both.
After many system restores and activating various dlls and removing McAfee I have managed to get my computer up and running again but when I have tried to reinstall the Blackberry Software I always get an error during intstallation that states:
Rim.Desktop.HttpServerSetup has encountered a problem and needs to close
It then tries to remove the installation which it then says that it can't complete and ends, it leaves an icon on the desktop but it shows an error everytime I try to start the software.
I have tried the clean uninstall as directed on the Blackberry website including removing all the registry keys and restarting the dll but I keep getting the same error.
Window XP is my operating system
Please help it driving me MAD

I've never had any problems with DM6 on WinXP, SP3.
I've mentioned on here several times that I don't recommend using the Roxio software, it's just to buggy I think.

  • Apparently Sync Manager is turned off for syncing my contacts and calendar to using Blackberry Desktop Software - how can I switch it ON?

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 a few months ago.
Up till then I was happily able to sync mac Contacts and Calendar to my Blackberry Curve 9320 via Blackberry's Desktop Manager (for Mac).
Since upgrading the software tells me to that Mac Sync Manager is turned off.  I know it isn't because everything else is syncing.
When I hunt through your support I find that there are solutions for this problem for other Mac OS versions but not for Maverick, so please tell me how I can once again use my business phone happily as I did before upgrading!
    Many thanks
    Janet

  • Conflict with Desktop Software in XP

I have just taken possession of a Blackberry Torch 9800 but am unable to connect it to my  home computer through Blackberry Desktop Software.
The software and the phone both load perfectly well onto my XP desktop in the office so we know that there is nothing wrong with the phone itself.
The problem appears to be a conflict on my computer, which is a standard Dell computer running on Windows XP ( service pack 3).
    So here is the problem.
    1) I access the Blackberry site and download the Blackberry Desktop Software which apparently loads and launches as normal.  I say "apparently" because whenever I come to close it, it will not close and I need to go to Task Manager to shut it down.
    2) It asks me to connect the Blackberry to the USB which then kicks into its  "Found New Hardware" wizard, uploads a couple of drivers and then stops, alleging a fault. On checking, one of the drivers fails to have installed itself correctly.
And that's it. Game over. I have never got beyond that.
    What I have tried:
    1) A complete removal ( i.e. not just using the uninstall tool but also using regedit etc to clear out all RIM files ) and a re-download. No different.
    2) As above, but booting up the pc with the blackberry plugged in.
    3)  A complete removal and insert the disk which came with the phone. It did not autorun I found an .exe file and it kicked into the intializing Blackberry User Tools sequence which hung half way through and got nowhere.
    4) I copied the drivers from my Windows XP machine at work and then transferred them to my home pc in an attempt to fool it. It wasn't fooled.
    5) I cleaned up the registry with a professional piece of software (Regcure). The computer runs quicker, but no difference was made to this problem.
    Have you a suggestion, please?

    Hi,
From the history of MSJAV, we can see Microsoft Java Virtual Machine was unsupported since 2004. According to my test, the windows installer installation has no issues.  So can you install other program based on windows installer instead of Microsoft Java Virtual Machine as a test. If only the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine failed to install the program, I will suspect that Microsoft Java Virtual Machine originally does not support such actions by design.
Will you see the mapped driver on client PC from windows XP mode?
Make sure you have turned of UAC on the client PCs. When you say "manually map the drive" do you mean  "type \\server-ip" on the address bar from "My computer"?
    "open my computer
in the address bar type \\server-ip
    input credentials
    find the shared drive
right click and click map network drive "
From the feedback from other users encounter similar issues but on windows installer installation, disable integration features (under Windows explore\Tools option in a running VM), login to the VM and try again. Also change the network adapter from shared to bridge mode to check the result.

  • BlackBerry Desktop Software doesn't support the BlackBerry 10 OS

a feuniquely useful and unique to BB.w years ago I upgraded to a OS 10 device and owned for less than 24 hours before paying to get my OS7 bold 9930 back. Currently debating on getting a classic, but believe that OS10 still does not support BB desktop nor the BNA website.
These were two features that I used very often and that I found unique to BB and very useful.
How is OS10 supplanting these tools and services?
Why in the world are they not retroactively supported?

    Hello,
It is completely well documented what is required...here:
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop/overview.html?LID=us:bb:software:desktopsoftware&LPOS=us:b...
As you can see, BBLink and BBBlend exist for BB10, while the BB Desktop Software exists for legacy devices. BB10 and legacy devices are very very different...I can completely understand why they would need a totally new set of PC software for such a new and different device. It is what it is, and Blend provides a level of functionality never even dreamed of for legacy BBOS (well, maybe dreamed...but never delivered).

  • BlackBerry Desktop Software error when trying to run from my computer desktop

Hi: I have installed the BlackBerry Desltop Software ver 6.0 on my Dell Dimension 4700 PC @3.4 GHz which runs Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and has 1GB of RAM.
Each time I have tried to start the software from the desktop icon, I receive an error message saying that BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and need to close.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, how did you resolve it? Any assistacne would be most appreciated as I wish to synch my Torch with Outlook 2003 for contacts and appointments!!
    Thanks

    Hello,
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
Some have reported that there are more registry keys to remove than are discussed in that KB
Others have reported the use of a registry cleansing tool to also be helpful
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchronizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

I have downloaded the desktop software and when i go to Select Organizer Data and pick calendar, contact, etc  Intellisync Setup comes up and I select calendar and contacts it go to then it goes to Intellisync Select a desktop application and Outlook is not there.  Why?  I have tried the reinstall/repair but with no luck.  If i do this on my laptop at home Outlook is an option.
