My computer has Bitlocker encryption. When I plug in my iPod Shuffle to the USB port, iTunes does not recognize it. When asked to encrpt the Shuffle I say no, but still not recognized. When I encrypt it, still not recognized (even after it was restored by iTunes). Any suggestions please?

Martin.What model year is you imac? If it is a newer model year, late 2012, then that model imac does not have a audio input system and yes it is because it only has one audio jack and that is only for output. To successfully connect your musical instruments you will need a usb audio interface system of some type.

When I plug in my IPOD Nano into a USB port, the computer recognizes it as a printer. It then attempts to install the printer software, which is already installed. The only way to fix it is to unplug the printer. Any thoughts?

I have the apple usb stick to install lion but when I put it into the usb port it does not appear in finder? How do I get access to it to install?
Try one of your other USB ports. Be sure to insert it with the plated fingers pointing upwards.

My iPod classic (2007) 80 GB FROZEN SCREEN (Now Playing window showing the song that is suppose to be playing, will not respond to buttons, Will not SYNC, iTunes does not recognize it AT ALL when I plug it in. Will not shut off, will not charge... pretty frustrated, I updated it recently (within the last 10 days....Has anyone had similar experience? If so was it fixed? Please post any help for me... thank you... I am pretty frustrated right now.its fixed!! After posting my problem with the FROZEN ipod classic (2007) 80 gb a screen popped up with similar subjects that I did not find in my original search. 'Rich Fleming' in the community posted a suggestion to someone with a similar frozen issue and it WORKED when I tried it.
hold the 'menu' and the 'circle' buttons down at the same time, KEEP the pressed until the apple appears. and now it is working. Hope this helps others. -

I have installed the lastest version of itunes and gone through the troubleshooting tips and still have the same problems.Hold Sleep Button with Home Button toghether until it restarts Always it takes 8 to 15 seconds, after it restarts leave the sleep button and remember do not leave the home button it automaticlly switches to DFU mode.

Some I had deleted before and some songs that I have never had on my ipod. appear on the list I do not knw via the computer what is actually on my ipod. Any suggestions. Why cany itunes leave things alone. If it aint broke dont mend it. This has only happened since I down loaded the latest itunes.
Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem. -

Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart. Usually takes about 10 seconds time. If still problem. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Restore the Firmware.

Itunes closes when I plug in my ipod shuffle. Any ideas what to do?
I have been using my shuffle with this computer for about 5 years now and haven't had a problem until today. Now when I plug in the shuffle using USB port itunes shuts down. It doesn't have this problem with our ipod touch. I tried a different cable but that didn't fix it.

I plugged my iphone in to do an update and it was mid way through the update when the phone was accidentally disconnected. Now the phone is stuck on the screen that shows a cable and the iTunes image suggesting the phone needs to be plugged in to iTunes. I have plugged it in, powered on and off, attempted to enter DFU mode numerous times all with no success. ITunes does not recognize the phone and I continue to only receive the screen saying I need to plug in to iTunes.. Please help!

I just downloaded iTunes 9 and i do not want to upgrade any further, so when i plug in my iPhone iPhoto recognizes it as a iPhone/camera but iTunes does not recognize it. any help would be appreciated.
