My computer is asking me to authorize a song, but is authorized
My computer is asking me to authorize a song, but when I authorize is says it is already authorized, but yet the file does not play. How do I fix this?
Hi,
It is possible that the song have been purchased using another account. Performing a get info on the song will allow you to see in the summary from which account it has been bought. Make sure you authorize the related account too in order to play the song.

So I have about 1000 songs that I can no longer access because they are linked to my old account. I cannot access that account, because the email I used for it was my old work e-mail. I got laid off in 2009, so I have no way to access that e-mail. Is there a way I can unlock these songs, or are they lost? They are still on my iTunes, and everytime I go to play them, it says I need to authorize them to play on this computer. What can I do? Thanks for any help!!!
You can update an older Apple ID that is no longer a working email address by using a new email address. Just make sure that it is not an email address that you are using in your second Apple ID.
Once you have rehabilitated the old Apple ID, authorize the Mac to use content from both Apple IDs.

ITunes authorizes the songs but cannot play them!
I just upgraded to Vista. Many of my purchased songs work fine. But when I try to play some songs, iTunes asks to authorize it. I do this. It says the authorization was succesful. But when I try to do this again, it goes back to the authorization screen!
Please help.Same here...but none of my songs will play that were purchased. Just upgraded to Vista today...
I've tried everything except uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes... -
My computer wants me to authorize even though it's authorized; can't play my music
I'm using a mac mini with Lion 7.1. Suddenly, tunes I've been playing for years won't play. They say to authorize my computer, I authorize it and they still won't play. It's not all songs, just some I bought years ago. Songs before and after play fine.
HELP.And now, the Apple Support person who said he was going to call me, didn't. He won't return my emails. I'm out a couple of hundred dollars of purchased music I was able to play until recently.
I've authorized, unauthorized … sent in every computer serial number I used to purchase music and the music gets stuck in a loop that asks me to authorize something that's already authorized. This is obviously an Apple CRM nightmare that iTunes simply refuses to fix.
I also have hours of my valuable time gone dealing with Apple's mess. I really need help and Apple is turning a blind eye.
Why would I ever buy any music from iTunes again? I've never had this issue with Amazon or CD Baby.
Can someone help me, or will I just get ignored. -
So annoyed. iTunes won't authorize CERTAIN songs after upgrading computer.
Ok, so I recently upgrading my computer from a Macbook OS X to a Macbook Pro and now it seems that I can't authorize certain songs, I have two accounts: my current account, and my old account, which is the one that I can't authorize. I've tried everything from re-downloading iTunes, to deleting the SC folder, but to no avail.
The thing that really annoys me, is that when it asks me to authorize the song, it tells me "this computer is already authorized" Ok, good, it's authorized, but then I go to play the song again, it tells me again that my computer isn't authorized! It's like a vicious cycle that never ceases to annoy me. So in short, my computer lets me play some songs from my old itunes account, but won't let me authorize others. Help, please, is there anything I'm missing or doing wrong?contact _*iTunes Store Customer Service*_ and explain your problem.

My computer crashed so I reloaded previously purchased songs but only got 24....not all of them. Did I do something wrong?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Did you use another Apple Id for some of the music? -
My email address has changed and when I try to play purchased songs it asks me to authorize another computer under the old email address. How do I play the music that I have purchased? My account is current with the new email address.
You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.

Has anyone downloaded an album from iTunes Store, once downloaded, will let you play some songs, but others is asking you to authorize your computer. When I go through those steps, it tells me that the computer is already authorized, but still will not let me play certain songs??
If just some of the tracks on the album are giving you that message, that suggests that those tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
IDVD asks repeatedly to authorize computer to play audio from iTunes
Everytime I try to add an audio file from my iTunes library to my iDVD menu, it asks me to authorize the computer. So I authorize the computer but it never adds the audio. So I drag the audio clip again to where I want it to play, and it asks me to authorize again. And again and again. Any ideas what I can do?
Thanks for any help!!Can I assume that the audio file in question has been downloaded to iTunes rather than copied from a CD?
What you see is one of the more irritating side-effects of DRM copyright protected tracks.
The workaround is to burn that track to a CD, then import the track from the CD back into iTunes and save it as an AIFF file.
That Audio track should import into iDVD without trouble. -
I downloaded Fast AS You from I-Tunes. When I click on it to play it a pop up box says I have to authorize the song for my computer and asks for my password. When I enter my pass word it plays 6th Avenue Heartache. Over and over, even after a reboot it does the same thing. Any ideas?
Thanks, DonDelete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

I am going through a divorce and she has the computer. I'm trying to tranfer my music to a new computer but for about 100 songs its asking for her authorization password that I dont have. How can I get these songs transfered or can I?
It sounds like two Apple accounts were used in the purchase of songs, yours and hers. Assuming she won't give you her password, you're kinda stuck. For $129 or so you can repurchase them all.
By the way, if she has the computer and it has your account info in it, you ought to change your password.
