My Computer is full!

I need to delete saved music from my computer and iTunes without it being deleted when I synch my iPod Classic. Any tips on how to do this?

If you want to delete songs from iTunes and keep them on the iPod you need to change the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos". The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different, you can get details here:

One major word of caution. If you delete songs or videos from your computer and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up anything you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD: How to back up your media in iTunes
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod

Do not store them in the Cloud. It isn't really storage. For iTunes purchases, for example, it is just re-downloading a purchase. If a label decides to no longer make the item available it will disap[pear from the cloud and that will be it for you.
You can't store items on an external drive simply by dragging them there. That's too complicated for iTunes and how it is set up to work. I know I post on this 10x a week and there's many other posts discussing this. I suggest you browse a bit first. Your options are basically to either put your whole library on the eternal drive (which is a nuisance if you don't want to drag it everywhere with you), or to copy individual items to the external drive, delete them from the internal drive, then re-add them as new items (re-adding to playlists, etc.).

Using a single user license, you can activate Acrobat on maximum two computers.
You need to first deactivate Acrobat from the first machine and then activate it on the second machine using the same serial number.

Bad video quality of final product when viewing on computer in full screen

It looks like a picture does when you blow it up and it's a low quality image. Everything I'm reading says the problem would be with the video capture...but I have the same bad quality when I'm viewing the menu! Around all the text on the menu, it's fuzzy and same with my video on the menu. So are my video clips in the movie itself.
I have tried playing it on Windows Media Player, the apple DVD program, and WinDVD and I get the same problem when I view it on full screen.
I assume my family will mostly be playing it on a TV. Do you think it will play properly or worse on a TV? I don't actually have a DVD player myself to test it out. Any suggestions on why this could be happening?

when I started using iDVD, one of the hardest adjustments for me to make was video quality on TV screen vs on computer screen. (I am used to satellite to S-Video TV and HD screens on my computer.)
My camera it a miniDV, and playback via SVideo to an Svideo TV screen is awesome.
I was sorely disappointed when I played the same tape back on the computer. It was grainy/fuzzy, etc. Same with the DVD I made.
But when I played the DVD back on the TV, the image quality was the same as when I connected the camera to the TV - crisp, sharp, video and text.
I've since burned numerous DVDs, and the result is always the same - blah on the computer, sharp on the TV.
As someone else in this thread stated, the average TV is low-res compared to the computer screen.
If I recall the spec correctly, standard NTSC is 240 line, SVideo is up to 500 line. HD is 720 line and higher...ergo an NTSC source is roughly 1/2 the resolution of the typical CPU screen, or 1/3 the resolution of low end HD screens. So yes, NTSC output on your computer screen will always be fuzzy compared to your TV screen.
I think you will likely be very pleased with the DVD when you playback on your TV.

If you're using Windows, follow these steps:
Quit iTunes.
Locate your iTunes Media folder. (This folder may be named iTunes Music if you created your iTunes library in iTunes 9 or earlier). By default, it's in these locations:

Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\username\Music\iTunes

Computer HD full. want to move stuff and back up

My Hd (250G) on my computer is just about full. I purchased a 1TB WD hard drive the question is.
1- I would like to move some stuff to the external to create some room on my computer
2+ I would also like to use time machine for daily back ups.
can I just drag the stuff I want to move on to the external and then start time machine or do I need to partition the HD?

I highly recommend partitioning your 1TB drive for timemachine. Allocate about 150-250 gigs for time machine then use the rest for any data you wish to move over. I currently have several dives on my iMac configured in the following way.
Western Digital My Book 500gb USB. This is my main "over flow" storage drive. (Note my internal drive (250 gb) contains "working" or "live" copies of all my data and all of my apps as well as a bootcamp partition running XP Pro)
My second drive is a Maxtor 1 touch 4 plus 750 gb Firewire 400 drive. On this drive I have partitioned 150 gigs exclusively for time machine, the balance of the drive houses all of my photos and data archives.
My third drive is a 1tb Seagate Free Agent Pro using firewire 400 that is daisy chained to my Maxtor drive. On this drive I have a 250 gb partition that I have cloned my internal hard drive onto so it is a bootable drive if I run into any major issues like a kernel panic that is not repairable. The balance of that drive is a back up of my XP Partition and the WD My Book.

Hello, this is my first post.
Well lately I've been experiencing some connection issues with my iPhone 5s. I was on my iPhone just watching Youtube when my iPhone 5s disconnected, I tried to connect again by going to settings> Wi-FI> and then select my network as usual, but the weird thing is that my Wi-Fi network has changed it's name to Wireless, it used to be Wireless710. Also the password has been changed.
My computer can easily connect due to the fact that it is hardwired to the Wireless Cable Modem Gateway.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate.
My Wireless Cable Modem Gateway is Netgear.
And now I am confused because when I open the small tab with the computer and a plug on the bottom right corner next to the speaker icon it says I'm not connected :/?! Here is a picture of it:

Did it wok? for my computer yes again because it is hardwired, but my phone? No. Wireless 710 still won't show up. Is this a possible hack? Log in to the router's console with a web browser from your computer. What kind of encryption did you have on the router? If it was WEP that's about as secure as no encryption. It should be WPA or WPA2. There has been an exploit reported in Netgear and Linksys routers that allows someone connected to the router if Remote Access to the console is enabled to take it over and install spyware on it.
Is it your router, or the cable providers? If it is yours it has been hacked. If it belongs to the cable provider they may have changed it to make it more secure. Call them.
And if it has been hacked and is yours the best thing to do is to throw it away and get a new, more secure router. Or you can try reflashing the firmware by going to Netgear's site and downloading a clean copy.

If it scare y ou then take the machien back and ask the Apple Store to do this for you. What has probably filled your computer is large libraries such as music, photos and movies. Apple explains how to move those libraries to an external HD. Please read:

Computer with full Adobe CC software was stolen

Last night my Apple computer was stolen from my office.
The device is fully installed with Adobe CC software.
What is the best way to protect my software for unlawful users?

when you attempt to install on the 2nd, you will see a message saying cc is already activated on two computers and giving you the option to sign out from the other two. click yes and your thief will not be able to use your adobe cc programs.

When "Save Link As..." is used, file permissions are changed so that other users of the same computer have full access.

I have a laptop running Windows Vista Ultimate, and I'm not sure what's been changed in my Firefox, but now, every time I use "Save Link As...", the user permissions for the file have been set to include "USERS" which is then indicated by an icon in the bottom left corner of the file thumbnail. The icon is of the two people you see under "User Accounts and Family Safety" in the Control Panel.
I do remember a dialogue box coming up saying something about "This file originates from another computer and may be harmful..." or something along those lines when this problem first occurred.
I thought that problem would only occur for files from one website, but now, whenever I try using "Save Link As...", the user permissions for that file are incorrect.
If I open the link and download the file manually, it's perfectly fine.

It seems that the difference between the sites that will open and the one that won't is the Default Authentication provider is set to NTLM on those that open, and Negotiate (Kerberos) on the one that won't. The Authentication Provider for the Default zone
is Claims Based Authentication on all the sites, just site B (which won't open) is set to Negotiate (Kerberos), the others are set to NTLM.
Short term: can I change the provider to NTLM without destroying the site?
Long term: point me in the direction for setting up Kerberos correctly on my server/farm, as from what I can tell Kerberos is the recommended path forward. I'll setup a non-production test site and get it figured out.

Thank you for ordering a PlayStation Network currency card from Best Buy's eBay store. I am sorry to hear of the trouble you have had with it when you recently attempted to use it.
While I recognize this may not be what you were hoping to hear, I regret to inform you that Best Buy is unable to support currency cards after they have been sold. After we activate the cards for use we have no way to verify if or when they ever are, as this information is only available to the company for which the currency card is sold. In this case that is Sony and PSN. If there was anything that could be done, it would need to be from Sony. In this case it sounds like they are likewise taking the stance that they cannot verify who was authorized to use the code so they do not provide support either.

Computer hard drive full

My computer hard drive is 30 GB, Ipod is 60 GB. Computer is full. If I cut Itune music folder to a Maxtor backup disk (this will free 28 GB on laptop), can I start adding stuff again (on laptop) without losing everything already on IPOD when I go to update IPOD?
Lots of movies and TV shows I paid for and don't want to lose.

You can delete songs from your iTunes/computer hard drive after transferring them to the iPod, and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the songs manually.
However, this is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.
My suggestion would be to bring that Maxtor hard drive home, transfer a back up copy of your music to it before you start deleting stuff from your laptop hard drive.
That way you will have a back up if things go wrong with your iPod.
The iPod is not a reliable enough device for storing the only copy of your music.

So apple requests that you back up your device before taking it in plus it's time to secure my photos and such so that I can have them in case my phone gives out. However, the hard drive on my computer is full and it does not have room to take all my photos through iPhoto and other things on my phone that I want backed up. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to where I should back it up. I have the standard 5 gb of iCloud but my pictures alone at more than 5 gb. Is it worth buying extra iCloud space or should I get an external drive for my computer? How would that work when transferring from my phone to the external drive and not storing it on my computer...
