My computer is stuck on the screensaver

All my screen shows is "loading pictures" and the rainbow wheel. I drained my battery but no luck. Took out my battery out and no go. What now?

Hi there Mpontari,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • In the boot up process my computer is stuck on the "Starting Windows" screen. What do I do?

My computer is stuck on the "Starting Windows" screen.  I can't get it to boot up.  What do I do?

try tapping f8 as it powers up and see if you can get into safe mode. When presented with this problem I usually boot the laptop from a technician's disk and run a preboot environment version of Windows, then do a chkdsk; /r on the primary hard drive. 60-70% of the time that fixes it.  You can also run the chkdsk: /r from safe mode if you can get there.

  • Acer Aspire m5-583p: I got the new windows update, now computer is stuck on the boot page. Help?

The title says it all. Last night I got the update and it restarted and went to the "Acer 'explore beyond limits'" boot  page. After about an hour of looking at this I fell asleep. I woke up and it's still on the same page. Does anyone have this problem?

That is why you don't turn on automatic updates... Do you know the KB number of the update? If you do, then you can google KB###### Rescue Disk, and most likely you will be able to find a rescue disk Microsoft made to fix it. You could also try that old rescue disk for KB2 something that was from a year ago, I've used it a couple days ago to rescue a bricked system. Or you could try pressing ALT+F10 at the Acer Explore Beyond Limits screen (before the Windows boot thingie comes up) to enter recovery and then select Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Command Prompt. Then follow the instructions: http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/38624-uninstall-specific-windows-updates-via-cmd-or-batch-file-in-windows-7-8-and-server-2008-2012. But this only works if you know the KB number.   If you don't know the KB number try booting into Safe Mode (press ALT+F10 at POST, Troubleshoot, Advanced Options, Advanced Startup Settings, Press Restart, and then press the key 4 on your computer). From there you can uninstall the update and/or find the KB number. Please Kudo if this helped

  • TS2570 My 2010 MacBook pro gets stuck at the apple start up screen

I think I've tried almost everything possible and my computer gets stuck at the apple start up screen with the loading bar under every time I shut the computer down and restart it. I've tried all the resetting, trying to do the apple hardware test (which never worked), and so many other things that I can't even remember everything that I've tried. Could someone out there possibly help me?

Yes. I turn it on like I normally would. I hear the chime and everything. It looks like it wants to start up and it acts like its loading. Then it just gets stuck when the loading bar gets to right about the middle.

  • Stuck on the splash screen

    Hi,
I have looked through many websites in search for the answer to my HP Pavilion Slimline s3624uk desktop problem with no joy.
The problem is that the computer is stuck on the splash screen. I have tried and tested working USB and PS/2 keyboard and mouse, RAM and processor I know that these devices work by testing them on a different PC.  I have removed hard-drive which loads fine again in a different PC. I have tried to reset Bios / CMOS by placing the jumper on pins 2 and 3. I have also removed CMOS battery and all power to motherboard for a period of two hours. I then reconnected all with the same result stuck on the splash screen.
I can’t enter into BIOS. I have tried pressing Esc repeatedly as well as F9, F10 and F11 etc.
    Please help...

Hi everyone! I tried to install the new iOs 7 on my iphone 4, but it wasn't completed (showing error 4005). Connect the iOS device to your computer restore via iTunes.  Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • I tried to eject a cd, didn't work so I turned off the computer and now it keeps getting stuck at the gray screen. How do I fix it?

Here are a few more details. I put in a game cd for a windows computer, once I opened the folder on the desktop I noticed the install application was .exe so I tried to eject the cd but no matter what I tried on the computer it wouldn't come out. I will say though that I didn't try the manual cd eject cause I didn't have anything small to hit the button in the cd drive with. It was getting late so we decided to just turn off the computer and leave it for the next day. I can't remember if we turned the computer off with apple shut down or by holding down the power button but we walked away pretty quickly before it was fully shut down. The next day the computer won't turn on. When I walked into the room I was the computer stuck with a grey background with the apple logo showing and the circular thing under it frozen. Since no one was in the room I held down the power button and turned the computer off. We tried to start the computer again later but again it keeps getting stuck at the same spot. Now when we hold the power button down to turn it off I'm not sure if it's really turning off all the way. The screen goes dark but it sounds like the fan is still going. I tried disconnecting everything but the keyboard and mouse but when I started it up again it got stuck on the grey screen with just the apple logo. I'd really apprechiate help on this cause I live in Germany right now and support call centers work so much worse when you don't speak the language well... Thanks for any help you can give!

Restart your computer while holding down left mouse key. That will eject the CD and your Mac will start as normal.
