My computer loads any folders with videos really slow.

When I open folders that have videos in them it loads them really slowly, but only the first time. Once it's loaded them once it's fine. I recently installed Perian, so I thought that might be the problem, but it's still there and I've uninstalled Perian. I've booted into safe mode several times to try to fix the problem, if there is one, but still nothing. Any ideas??

How large are the files and folders?
Building video thumbnails can take awhile, so its normal for it to be slow the first time you view them. After that the data is cached which is why its OK after the first time.
I rarely see much slowdown on my 2007 4-core Mac Pro, but I do have double your memory, which makes my filesystem and general performance better than yours in some cases.
Unless you are seeing grossly long times, I'd not worry about it.

Same thing for a movie file.. If you want to play back the movie via a DVD and a DVD player you must create a Movie DVD and not just burn files to a data DVD... as Data DVDs are just storage devices for files and therefore will only work with computers...
Movie DVDs are special formats that include things like menus and special file formats.. so they can playback via a DVD Player...
You will need a 3rd party DVD Burning app like Toast which is what i actually use.... or the more popular DVD Creator app...to create and then burn a Movie DVD that will playback on a DVD Player....

Loading mail in iCloud is REALLY slow; everything else seems ok; syncing to other devices is spot on.

On the Mac open System Prerferences > iCloud
Deselect Mail & Notes then reselect the box then restart your Mac.

Firefox crashes when loading any page with flash. I have tried all available fixes including plugin updates. If I disable flash the crashes stop, but no flash.

Firefox crashes on any page with flash. I have the most recent version of Firefox on OSX Snow Leopard. I have made sure that I have all the most recent plugins and extensions and I am not running any custom theme. I have completely un-installed and re-installed Firefox and flash to no avail. I think the problem is in some user preference, but I cannot seem to find it. If I log out and use a different user on my machine, Firefox does not have the flash crash problem.

JYOuyang: I have the correct plugin for Flash. My problem is not the "Flash crashed" icon, which would be generally acceptable, but FIREFOX crashing, usually rather dramatically. I have since regressed to Firefor 3.6.3. I am still using Flash 10.1, the newest version. This no longer causes Firefox to crash. Now then -- if the same plugin causes no crashes in the new version of Firefox and does cause crashes in the prior version, it is not exactly a humongous leap to conclude that maybe, just maybe, there was a bug introduced in Firefox 3.6.4? I mean, it's not as if a major feature of 3.6.4 was a significant change in how plugins interact with the browser or anything... oh, wait, there was, wasn't there? Hmmm. Saying "It's Adobe's fault!" rings a little hollow when the 10.1 plugin works correctly in the prior version of Firefox. Any kind of host/plugin model relies on a contract between the host and the plugin, and when there's a crash, it indicates one side or the other broke that contract. Under the circumstances, it's difficult not to suspect the blame for this lies on the Firefox side. It's certainly possible that Adobe's code IS broken and the problem is that it SHOULD work with the new version of Firefox, if it were properly written, but it's not, so it doesn't. First Backup with TC: REALLY slow...

I'm performing a 300 Gb backup with Time Capsule via wi-fi. It is REALLY slow. I started yesterday at 6.00 pm and now (10.20 am) I'm at 100 Gb which means that it will be done by tomorrow afternoon. Somebody is advising me to switch from wi-fi to an ethernet cable.
Is it possible to do that while it's backing up? I mean, is it enough if I connect my mac to TC with an ethernet cable without doing any other operation or do I have to click somewhere?

To be honest Matteo, you are averaging roughly about 6Gb per hour on wi-fi, that's reasonably good for time machine backing up to time capsule. Mine had averaged about 3GB per hour.

Why isnt my computer playing any sort of videos all of a sudden?

All of a sudden my computer just stopped playing any videos from any website like youtube and facebook etc.. How do i fix it?

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.

   Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
   If it doesn’t quit, Force Quit it.
   Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.

   Application will quit.
    Follow the prompts and install it.
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.

    Press the button “ Remove All Website Data”.

When loading any page with Flash content Firefox will always crash. Any Ideas to fix this?

The issue occured following upgrading to 3.6.13 from the previous version.
Firefox will not crash if the Adobe Flash plugin is disabled. I have uninstalled and re-installed Flash player & Firefox, both of which did not solve the problem.
The issue is not present within the latest versions of IE, Chrome, Opera or Safari.
Any help to possibly solve this problem would be greatly appriciated?

Firefox will not load any video sites (hulu, stagevu, netflix).

Firefox or googlechrome will not load any sort of videos playing sites. This is a recent issue. I've watched videos on hulu for the past couple months with no problem.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I am running 10.5.8, and just updated my java to java 5 update10. Now my firefox is missing the Java plugin, and I can't load any Java applet at all. When I try it with Safari, it hangs when certain Java applet loads. HELP!!!

It's not in Tools> Add-ons >plugins? Should be Java Plug-in 2 for NPAPI browsers 13.5.0. What are you seeing there? I don't think it's called the embedding plugin any longer.
Might try getting the Firefox 5 standalone application. Trash the current one and replace it. Doing this won't affect your Profile or any settings.

EDIT. Oops, may be different for 10.5.8. Was thinking recent Java update for 10.6. But try installing a new app anyway. In the past, this got me the latest Java plugin.

Firefox wont load any flash player or let me download anything

Firefox wont load any flash player videos and when it does it only buffers so far. I can't download anything like anti-mal/spyware to check if its anything like that.

Try to boot the computer in Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.
Do you have access to another computer to download the anti-mal/spyware programs and put them on a USB stick with the latest updates or their databases?
You can also try to download them via sites like FileHippo.

CEF loads really slow

So, just recently my computer started to load everyting in CEF relly really slow. It does load but it takes forever. What could be the cause and what can I do about ti?

by way of folders (similar to subdomains, but they are standalone sites with their own domains)

Cant seem to upload a folio with video in it

I have just updated my to the newest version of Folio Builder but since then I cant seem to upload
any folio with video in it . It just seems to takes hours and hours . The Video is only 400 meg so
I am right in thinking that its not too Big?
Also if I try and upload the folio for a local video , the upload prcoess gets stuck
saying uploading content 1 of 3 .
Any one got any ideas

400MB? That's a *huge* video. I would try re-encoding it to get it smaller.

I tried to ask this question from my iPad mini, but it was not possible to type in this field, so apparently support is another page that I can't load. Suddenly iPad won't load web pages, and is really slow...I already cleared safari cache and history...what now? have not updated to ios8.

Thank you very much for your reply gdgmacguy :) I did all you suggested apart from restore as new device . Didn't know I could do that . After restore I did restore from back up only, as I didn't want to end up without contacts details on my phone. If I restore as new device how do I get my all contacts? Still will have to use back up? Sorry if it sounds like I don't know what i am doing, i just have no one to ask who would know. Thank you
