My computer's all messed up! Any suggestions?
My macbook keeps reverting back to its default settings and erasing everything but my files. It also won't let me visit this website using safari. It just automatically closes it. So back to the PC for now. Any suggestions will help!
While it very much sounds like the behaviour when someone changes the name of their home directory, the fact that documents are still available means that this is not the case.
So, what I would probably do is the following…
1) Repair disk permissions in Disk Utility
2) Failing that I would create a new user account to see if the problem persist
If creating a new user account works then I would transition your documents to the new account and just use that. If it doesn't then you have system wide issues and either an "Archive and install" else an "Erase and install" is recommended.
Regardless, be sure to backup before messing with your system.

my ipad is not appearing in itunes...(in fact there are no "Devices" in the itunes at all) ... any suggestions?

Did it ever work? What version of iTunes are you using? (The latest is 10.3.1 as of today.)
You might have a defective cable. I suggest you try carefully disconnecting and reconnecting it to the iPad, to be sure it is making good contact. If you have the iPad 2, there is a slight compatibility problem with the old dock due to the shape of the iPad 2's bottom.

I have Lion, and I can't see my unread messages count in the dock, even after the preferences set up.
I find the Lion Mail too complicated. Leopard was much easier and more simple to use. I only have one account& don't need all the rest.

I have tried to connect a second airport express to my Mac. But the configuration was interrupted and now I can´t find the second airport on the Airport Express manager display. Although I find it on network/ system settings. I appriciate any suggestions!
Hold in the reset button on the AirPort Express for 7-8 seconds, then release and allow 40-45 seconds for a restart to a slow, blinking amber light. Then reconfigure the device again.
You can also temporarily connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the Express to establish a direct connection for the setup, rather than using wireless. Once you have the Express configured, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable. -
I am receiving a message saying the iPod "TRACER's iPod" can not be synched. The required file can not be found. I ran the iTunes program repair and restarted both the computer and the iPod. but still receive the same message. Any suggestions on what else to try?
That can sometimes be caused by a damaged ipod photo cache.
If you remove the current ipod photo cache, does that get you past the error?

On the computer with the iTunes Store open the balance is not showing in the account area just above Quick Links on the right?
If not, try restarting the computer.
On the iPhone, try resetting > Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I tried to update my iPad to iOS 7.0.2. and all I have now is screen asking to be connected to iTunes. Message tells me iPad is in 'recovery mode' and recommends 'restore' but that I would lose all data as this would restore factory settings. Any suggestions?
Apple helpline is 'not taking calls at this time'!!!Your data is already gone. Why did you not take regular backups of your data? Now you know why you should.

I have an iMac (Mid 2007) upgraded to Lion OS. My fan runs at high speed all the time. I reset the SMT without results. I had no way to do the hardware test.
Can I fix this high fan speed?Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
If the above doesn't help then create a new user account. Log into the new account. Does this fix the problem? -

Even though you think that all of your apps and purchased content is in iTunes, transfer your purchases using these instructions and then try and update again.

If you are receiving an alert about purchased items that have not been transferred from your iPad, you may want to try initiating the transfer from iTunes to see if that may correct it. You may find the following article helpful:

I tried to do the update, and went to plug the phone into my computer but it has crashed and I can't access my iTunes right now. Phone is stuck on connect to iTunes. Is there any way to cancel it and get the phone off of this without plugging it in as I now don't have access to my computer?

I live in Canada. Each time I travel to the US, I lose all calendar entries. I have to erase all data, then restore from an iCloud backup. Tedious. iPhone 4, iOS 7.1, sync set to all events. I only use the default calendar. Do I have an incorrect setting?
I did find another point worth mentioning.
I use my iPhone 4 with a corporate Exchange email account. I had deleted the account from my phone just before I did this backup/restore process...and I thought my battery drain was much, much better (if not outright fixed).
Later in the day, after seeing my battery life improve to near-new behavior, I re-added my Exchange mail account. Considering I have 1 yahoo account and 3 gmail accounts, the Exchange account adds a 5th email account.
What happened? Battery drain back to "worst case". Removing or re-adding the Exchange account is like toggling between decent and terrible drain conditions.
Bottom line is that I re-added a couple dozen applications and battery life didn't change. By far, the Exchange account drains the battery worse than any other app and setting. This account must be polling very frequently and since people tend to send very large file attachments to that account, perhaps those effect the battery drain even though I have the account set to not download attachments.
Anyone running Microsoft Exchange might be able to confirm what I see? If so I can open an enterprise ticket with Microsoft and bug them on this issue. -
This seemed to happen very suddenly; I left my iMac running while i went out and came in to find that the screen was totally unusable, as you will be able to see from the picture it has a lot of lines that seem to come and go a random and sometimes it goes black all together. What do you think is wrong with it? Logic board? Graphics card? Screen itself?.. also if it is the graphics card, is it separate to the logic board or do both need to be replaced?
