4. Run install. Note that it installs Application Support and a bunch of other software this time.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

You get message "firefox is still running" and computer restart doesn't help you. Try the advice below.
Make sure Firefox isn't running (end firefox.exe process in Task Manager or restart computer)
Find your profile folder

find file "parent.lock" in it and delete it (the file is empty, its function is to signify to Firefox whether it's already open or not).

I uninstalled Firefox, and not can't install it again

Firefox would open, but not let me go to anyother pages. It kept showing the "running" icon, and if I tried to hit any buttons, it went into "Not Responding" mode and I had to end it from the task master. I uninstalled Firefox, and tried installing it again. It goes into the download screen, and asks for permission to run the program. I hit run and it then says my user may not have access to all the features of Firefox. It offers to install it as either "Administrator" or as "MyUserName" which has full admin priviledges. I've tried as both, and it runs through the "Extracting" progress bar, which goes all the way to 100% and then just stops.

You can reinstall Firefox by overwrite it.(Remember download version lasted). Don't insintall your old version Firefox.And all bookmark,add-on will not be deleted.

Then uninstall iTunes + all of Apple services (google them).
Restart the PC.
Install iTunes.

If you have the CD and your machine can load a CD, then give that a try.
As far as the link not working goes, some browsers and/or settings they have do not work well with download links in the Adobe site. Make sure you have your browser cookies enabled... if necessary, try using a different prowser.
There is an alternative site for downloading that bypasses the download assistant that might work for you as well. You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.
