Downloads - I want to open some PDFs/other file types from the internet but not have to save them. I can't figure out how to view them and close them without having to save them first. When I click on a file, the downloads box opens and depending on the setting, it auto saves the file or asks me where to save the file. Start up from your install disc, go to Disk Utility and select the disk and click erase - to securely erase data click Security Options and Erase Free Space which will entirely wipe your disk, overwriting it with zeros so that no data is recoverable. -
How can I transfer some of my Itunes songs from my computer to my husband's iphone? He has a different apple ID and every time I do this, my IMac says it will erase and sync. I've checked the manual manage box but no luck.

So you have two different computers?
Just enable Home Sharing and he can copy the songs from you iTunes to his then he can sync his iPhone to his iTunes.

It looks like you may have to reinstall itunes.
There are multiple things you should uninstall (and in a certain order) according to apple.
Also, even thought your music and itunes library information should not be affected in the uninstall, I would strongly recomend backing it up. Go to where you keep your music files and make sure you back up everything in the folders "itunes" and "itunes music".
The directions for the reinstall are here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 They include what to uninstall and in what order. This is for itunes 9 and earlier, but I think it is the same for itunes 10. -
My computer died. I am rebuilding my stuff on a different old computer. I downloaded Firefox 3.6 to the new machine. I found my old favorites on the old drive in a folder with a yellow star icon called "favorites". I can see them all in that folder. I can move this folder anywhere. Where should it go? Is there another place to look for favorites or a backup of favorites? The old drive seems to be pretty much ok, so I can access whatever used to be there. The favorites folder location was C:/documents and settings/ed/favorites.
Those will not be the bookmarks from Firefox, the favorites folder is from IE. Firefox bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite inside the profile folder. You can copy that file into our current profile folder. I have a MacBook Air (July 2013) with the latest Mavericks OS X. I also have the lastest version of iTunes.
My computer has very little memory left, so I wanted to free some up. When I looked, movies were taking up a considerable amount of space. I want to move them from my computer, but still be able to watch them if I want to later. I haven't purchased an external drive yet, because I didn't know what size to get. I also have a lot of Photoshop files that are taking up a lot of memory, so I might put some of those on too. Would you recommend a 1 TB one or bigger?
Can you take me through the exact process of moving my iTunes movies to the external drive? I understand where to find the files (My Name<Music<iTunes Media<Movies), but am stuck from there. Do I simply drag them to the external drive and then delete them? Will this delete them from my iTunes library? How will I go about watching them again? I assumed that I would just plug the external hard drive in, click in the movie and watch. Is it this simple? I only want to move my movies, otherwise I would follow tutorials for backing up the library. Once you back up the movies, can you delete them from your computer?

Do you want these movies to still appear in your iTunes library, or are you content with browsing filenames on a drive in Finder when you want to look for one? The second's the easiest thing because then you don't have to have an external drive permanently turned on and attached to your computer (wired or wireless). To do that you literelly only need to drag your movies folder to an archive drive and delete movies from iTunes. To watch them again you can add it back to iTunes while holding down the option key so the movie is used from its location on the external drive.
There's ways to move the movies to an external drive while keeping them in iTunes but the external drive iwll always have to be turned on and connected to the computer or you will see a bunch of broken link exclamation marks.
Realize what you are talking about is not "backup". Backup (which you should do) is putting a second or more copy of items on external drives for the day when your internal drive fails and everything on it is lost, inclduing all your home photos and perhaps things that have been pulled from the iTunes Store and can no longer be re-downloaded. -
My husband got a new laptop and moved his itunes over there. I want to move my itunes from my old laptop to this one, but can't figure out how to get his off of here first. I don't want to have both on here, he never uses this computer so I don't need to switch between them. I have a Dell laptop with Vista on it if that matters. Help?
Go to iTunes menu, STORE and sign out. Then you can sign in from there or create a new account which should match the account you have on your iPad and iPhone.

I wanted to get new update but phone wont turn on without resetting it in iTunes I have tried pressing the home button and the off/on button together both whilst and not plugged into the computer but it doesn't want to work without getting rid of all my photos/videos and music...etc.
Your data is already lost. You must restore your phone in order to be able to use it. This is why Apple offers you two ways to back up, including iCloud, which backs up automatically over wireless every night if you're plugged in to power and the screen is locked. How much easier could it be? Yet you say you haven't backed up in months. If your phone was lost or stolen, or you dropped it in a puddle, you would be in the same boat. PEOPLE: BACK UP YOUR STUFF!!!!

My IPod Video 30 GB isn't playing any songs any more, i can find them all but when I want to play one the player stops at 0:00, and I tried a reset and to formatted it and so on but nothing seems to work, what can i do?

my mac space was full, and i noticed that i had 10,000 images, so i deleted all of my images and emptied the trash, now i they don't appear on iphoto or anywhere, is there anyway i could get all of those images back so i can then store them in a device?
yes, its the macbook air and mac OS X 10.7.4, not sure how that goes, about the time machine and time capsule, i only started using it today, when they were already deleted, also read at the support and help of iphoto, that if you delete your images from the picture folder that the images will be corrupted permanently, does this mean there there is no actual way of getting them back?

If you want both iPad to be identical .....
Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
Now connect your iPad to your Mac and start iTunes.
When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases.
After it finishes transferring all your apps to the Mac, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
Sync the iPad and eject it when it is complete.
Quit iTunes
Connect the second iPad.
Launch iTunes
Right click on the iPad name on the left side and select - Restore from Backup
Select the backup of the first iPad and let it restore from that backup.
When it finishes restoring - sync with iTunes to transfer all of the apps and any other content that you want onto that iPad
Eject the iPad when you are done.
Check the second iPad and if all of the content did not sync as you wanted - or you want to remove some of the content - connect it again and then choose the content that you want - uncheck what you do not want - and click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
