My computer stopped recognizing my 6th gen nano. I have un then reinstalled itunes as I was prompted. Still nothing. My account is up to date and my last purchase was a few weeks ago. Apple wants me to purchase @ 29.99 an opportunity to speak to a tech. Hoping someone out there can offer some assistance. Thanks.
Hi jim2744,
If you are having an issue with your iPod nano not appearing in iTunes when it is connected, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Please help! My computer will not detect my iPhone nor will iTunes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and still nothing. I did notice that under device manager there is no apple mobile device folder. I don't know what to do from here. Please help!
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538 Start on number five. If you are using a windows computer, you will most likely have to update the "USB device Driver" then iTunes will recognize your device.

Ipod touch not being recognized by itunes (but is registering as an external drive by the computer itself) have updated and reinstalled itunes, stopped/started apple mobile device and removed any mobile programs associated with my non apple cellphone. This seems to have started happening after the last Itunes update I did as I was able to put music on my ipod touch a month or so ago. Is there some way to go back to an older version of itunes? I really have no idea what else to do since I followed every step on the trouble shooting page for windows 8.
I had this problem too and my roommate solved it!
Go to 'Settings'
'Music'
Scroll to the bottom and enter your password to log onto your home sharing
Then connect to iTunes and sync! -
Using windows 8 - receive message "ipod detected but cannot be identified properly" when connecting ipod nano 7th gen. Have unisntalled and reinstalled itunes from apple site as advised with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it please?
This is how it's displayed: http://i50.tinypic.com/nd7vk7.jpg
And this is what happens when I click properties and 'search for solutions': http://i47.tinypic.com/2iu3vrc.jpg (the box disappears after that, apparently having done nothing, when I search online for software it informs me my computer already has the best/latest installed)
I use a Toshiba Satelite L350-170, my Vista is a 32-bit Thankyou!

i have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes several times bc i cannot access the store. still unable to....tries to access but then just stops. no error. please help
Try this:
Go to command prompt (in windows XP, START/All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt)
Type in following:
Netsh winsock reset
Hit "Enter" key. Restart computer.
Now check & see if iTunes stores is back to normal.
If not, try temporary uninstall your Security software & see if it works. -
Can there be an update for the 6TH Gen nano to have a calculator?
I think it would be really useful if there was a calculator on the 6th gen nano.
You aren' speaking to Apple here. If you would like to leave a suggestion for them, use the form via the page below.

The display on my 6th Generation Nano has flipped sideways, and I can't figure out how to get it to flip back.
Place your fingers onto the screen and gently (but firmly!) drag the screen around to the upright position.
Hope this helps. -
My Ipod Nano 6th generation is no longer recognized by iTunes & my computer. I did all troubleshooting steps. After checking for changes and reinstalling legacy software in device manager I keep getting an error 10 message (device can't start). My device is charging when I plug it in and is otherwise still functioning normally. Can anyone help me please?

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer. -
Left my 6th gen ipod nano in the washer.
Left it by the window for 2 weeks.
Plugged it into itunes, screen was white but connected to itunes. (Could only play from itunes)
Now when i plug it in it just blinks white and does not connect to itunes.
What should i do???(Bought it in January of 2011 if that helps...)
Thank you.Unfortunately, Apple's warranty does not cover user accidental damage. The cost of the repairs is on you.
If you want to DIY - http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPod_Nano_6th_Generation
If you mess up, your normal warranty and Apple Care will be voided. So be very careful if you attempt your own repairs. -
Why do I continually get the "iTunes is not working properly" notice??? I cannot get to the iTunes store. I am using Windows 8 and have tried downloading it and redownloading it numerous times..
Yeah... that's how it works. Signing into iTunes does not magically make a library appear.
If you have an iTunes library (media purchased from iTunes) then YOU need to put it on the computer.
Also, since the computer is no longer authorized for his account, any media associated with his account will not be playable. -
I purchased a new iPad Air 2 and reset my iPad 2 to factory settings for my husband to use. It updated to the newest operating system but the iCloud Drive has been trying to upgrade for the last 48 hours. I have tried restarting the iPad as well as restarting my desktop and internet modem (we have issues occasionally that require us to do this). I have no way of stopping the upgrade process to try again. Any ideas? Thanks!
You can't stop the upgrade process for what? iCloud Drive? Does that mean that you cannot go to Settings>iCloud>iCloud Drive>Off? If that doesn't work, did you try resetting the iPad - not restarting, Resetting is different,
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that kick starts iCloud Drive. -
My laptop is Windows Vista.
Having the same problem - am running Win 7 Pro 32 bit. Discovered that when you close iTunes task manager shows that iTunes.exe is still running and will not close unless you reboot. I have also found that after starting Win 7 that if I launch iTunes by inserting a CD, the CD plays and displays all tracks correctly. However, if I eject the CD and insert a different one neither Win 7 or iTunes recognises the CD. These problems seem to have started with the release of 10.5.2 - prior to that no problems at all. Have tried reinstalling and it does not make any difference.

please can anyone help with the above
What is important is how much free storage you have on your iPad not how much storage you have on iCloud ( which must be 17.2 GB of 25 GB).
Look in Settings > General > Usage > Storage -
6th Gen Nano not found in windows 7
Ok so i just got a 6th gene iPod nano, i have been trying to set it up, but my computer won't recongize it (windows 7). I have tried everything, i have uninstalled and reinstall itunes, i have done the misconfig, i have reset the ipod, i have used different USB ports, i have used a different computer, i have made another user and tried it there, NOTHING IS WORKING, i've done all the help stuff here on the site that i have found and it just won't be regonized, i'm getting horribly frustrated and would love some help.
My itunes is up to date and there have been a couple times where the set up has almost opened but i never goes past the first text box.Capturing time is hard.. it is a capsule.. to hold fragments of history rather than a trap to capture time.
The TC uses illegal to the windows world names.. change all names for wireless and TC itself to pure alphanumeric with no spaces.
Open the manual setup .. on the disks page from the top menu..
Make sure you give the Windows WORKGROUP correctly.
I also recommend you turn on guest access.. read and write at least until you sort access.
Update the changes.. in the computer. Open the airport utility again and find what IP is the TC running at. Summary page will give you that.
In windows explorer type,
\\TCname
If that fails type
\\TCIPaddress
Where TCname is the new name of the TC.. and TCIPaddress is exactly that.. by default 10.0.1.1 -
I cannot get my ipad to sync with the computer, the message USB device not recognized keeps popping up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes without an improvement.
Do you have firewall or anti-virus software running? If you do, it helps to turn it off. Otherwise, click on this link and see if it helps: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/itunes/

HT204266 Friend Apple ID has taken over my iPad, how to fix this?
Whenever I want to update an app, it will always show my friends email and request I put in his password. This makes no sense as he has one app on my iPad and nothing else, and yes, I'm singed in as me on the app store. Even in my purchases it asks m
