My computer was stolen
My Macbook Pro 13 inch that I purchased Dec. 2010 has been stolen and I went to get the serial number from when I registered to find that for some reason the serial number did not make it to Apple's server, they have my name address and phone # but no serial number. I had them check under my wife's profile and her laptop is showing up just fine. I have thrown out the boxes when we moved to the new house and I have filed a police report, but to have any chance of getting it back, I need that serial number. I have contacted the datavis who I purchased it from through buy.com. I have had it serviced when the power cord wasn't working but they said they show no data on it at the MacBook Store. Is there any other way to find the serial #, maybe through a network neighborhood, I have shared files between my wife's Mac and my Dell laptop, just trying to find out any info, Thanks,
Rob A.
Already tried, it shows everything, address, phone number, but doesn't show a serial #, Apple is looking into this, I have to call them tomorrow to see if anything has developed yet. I don't get how they have all my info yet no macbook, they even did a general search and found the ipod and my wife's Macbook Pro, but not mine. Still have hope, would the original disks have something that could trace them to a certain Serial Number of a Mac?

My computer was stolen so I deauthorized all computers that had iTunes on them on 10/28/2011. I have a new computer and it was authorized for iTunes. When I checked my account it says I have 2 authorized computers, but this new computer should be the only one. How can I deauthorize whatever the other computer is? I don't want whoever stole my old computer to be able to use my iTunes account.
Get all that music back in itunes and sync again.

My computer was stolen, I just purchased a new one and I want to redownload my old purchases. Not all of my purchases are on my itouch. How do I get the other purchases back?
You can recover any purchased songs that are on iPods using the procedure here.
If this is not available, you can ask Apple to allow you to download your music again. Note that, first, they DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS. Purchase of music from the iTunes store entitles you to one download of that item. Second, note that if Apple does allow you to download a second time, they have to pay royalties on each download, whether you pay for it or not. Last, if they allow it, please back up your purchases.
To request a redownload, contact iTunes support from the menus in iTunes or use this page.

I bought a Mac PowerBook in 2008. It came with InDesign CS3. I did not use it. My computer was stolen in 2014. I had backed up the hard drive. I reinstalled on my new Mac laptop. I want to use the CS3 now. It will not download or install. What do I do?
From where are you trying to download it?

My computer was stolen. How do I locate and transfer my personal unpurchased music that was on I tunes to my new computer?
If by "unpurchased" you are referring to music that you obtained from CDs or other sources, you will have to restore the music from your backup or some other device such as a smartphone or music player.

My computer was stolen. How do I find it if I dont know that I have icloud?
To find your mac using Cloud, you previously must have enabled "Find my Mac" in iCloud for your stolen computer, and your mac must be connected to a Wi-Fi network; only then you should be able to determine its location by visiting icloud.com in your web browser.
Report your mac as stolen to the local authorities. -

Computer was stolen--how to transfer from iPod to new computer
My computer was stolen and I want to transfer my iPod library to my new computer. I know how to transfer from one computer to another using an iPod but is there a way to do it when I don't have the computer that has my iTunes library?
There are a number of third party utilities you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod. This is just a selection.
YamiPod
PodUtil
PodPlayer
iPodAgent
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive posted in this thread: iPod to iTunes
If your iPod was set for automatic update change it to manual update. While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box.
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.
Another way is to connect your iPod and before it starts to sync, click the little X on the right hand side of the display beside the "Do Not Disconnect" message. The display is the little window to the right of the iTunes control buttons: iPod Interface
Or you could look at the method described in this link: How to keep iTunes from automatically updating your iPod
Go with whichever method you feel most comfortable. If at any point you are asked if you want to link your iPod to a new library, click No. -
I thought my mail was backed up in my .me account but when my computer was stolen and I went to restore my email in my new one, all I had were emails in the inbox. Is there any way I can retrieve the saved file directory? I did not back up the mail because that was being done by the .me account (I thought)
If her data was not backed up or synced to something, it's gone. Sorry.

To download previously purchased apps, books, music or TV Shows to your computer
Open iTunes 10.4 or later on your computer. (You can download the latest version of iTunes here.)
If you're not already signed in, click Sign In and enter your Apple ID and password.
After you've signed in, click Purchased on the right side in the iTunes Store under the QUICK LINKS the section.
From your Purchased page, click the tab for the content type you're looking for (Music, TV Shows, Apps, or Books).
Click Songs or Albums to change the page view and All or "Not in My Library" to view your purchased content that currently is not downloaded on your computer.
Click the download icon to the right of each item to download that item.
Note: Previously purchased music is only available through iTunes in the Cloud in Australia, Canada, Cypress, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Previously purchased TV shows are only available through iTunes in the Cloud in the United States.Notes:

two years ago before my computer was stolen I sent everything to my cloud I now have a new computer how do I access my cloud and everything I saved there?
I assume you mean you saved it to the MobileMe iDisk - you were a paid subscriber to this? MobileMe closed last August (after a year's worth of warning emails and online notices) and if you didn't retrieve your files from the iDisk they have been deleted and are not recoverable by any means. There is no equivalent facility in iCloud.
