My computer will not download the update to iTunes 10.2. Help?
I have tried TONS of times to update my iTunes to 10.2. Now I've purchased an iPhone which I cannot activate because my iTunes is not updated. It downloads almost all the way, then I see an error message. It tells me that if I keep seeing that error message I should try going to tools, then hitting download only. I've tried this. Still get the error message. Ideas?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

I do not update apps through my laptop I store the apps that actually have been tested and work on the laptop and test updated apps on the iPhone. After updating the iPhone to iOS 6.0.1 iTunes will not install the apps from iTunes on my laptop to my iPhone without updating the apps online. This is not going to happen from my end and I do not like having control of what MY Laptop and MY iPhone can do seperately forced to be as one. That should be an option of choice not a demand of service.
If anyone has an option like how to reinstall iOS 5.1.1 back onto my 3GS I would love to hear it.

The issue, as has already been explained is that the version of iTunes on the computer will not work with iOS6.
iOS updates via Wi-Fi have nothing to do with iTunes on the computer and does not care what version is on the computer. Personally, I find it completely moronic to update via Wi-Fi as there is really no option for backup or a restore from backup if the update fails. As there is no officially supported method to downgrade the iOS, the only option left if syncing is desired is to upgrade iTunes on the computer.
I really do not understand why you seem so defensive about updating iTunes. Update iTunes on the computer, then sync the device, if that's what you want.
If that's not what you want, other options include updating apps directly on the device via Wi-Fi or 3G or living with it as is. -

*Reboot computer and then download again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
*If you are downloading with a particular browser. Try downloading iTunes with another internet browser like
*Safari for Windows
*Firefox for Windows
*Opera for Windows
*If you are running the file vs Saving the file. Choose to save to desktop vs run. You may also wish to check your Firewall and other security software to ensure it is not restricting downloads and you have administrator rights. -

Will not download the update for 11.1
Tried to update my itunes so that I could download music to my new iphone 5c. I'm using a laptop with windows 7 64 bit and I tried downloading it with my browser Interner Explorer 8 and then tried Mozilla Firefox, I got the same results. It would seem like it was thinking and taking forever then the page would time out. So then I uninstalled itunes completely and tried to download the new version, but when I did this the page immediately went to the "Thank you for downloading" page as if it was done. Has anyone else had a similar problem and perhaps a solution? I would like to be able get I tunes back up and running on my laptop somehow so that I can just sit back and enjoy my music on my new phone.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

My IPhone is set up with an internet downloaded firmware of ios7 because my phone would not restore, the system has failed and I had to do a manual erase fro within the phone. My computer will not accept the phone because they say it's a "Developer?" Help. I cannot not even get passed the activation step on the computer or phone because it will not activate the device.

I was wondering, does anyone have an idea on how to update my Macbook Pro 15" to Mountain Lion's 10.8.3 from Mountain Lion's 10.8.2 version? When I attempt to use the App Store, it will restart my computer but it will not install the update. The update also still shows up in the App Store as available and when going to "About my Mac," it still shows the current version being 10.8.2.

I have tried to download the update for itunes several times. Each time it get to the installation part and stall and then reverses and give me an erorr message. My current version when I open it, it says there is an error and I will not be able to download a CD into itunes, although I have completed several CD downloads.
Go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and download the full installer. Run the installer and you will be up-to-date. Sometimes the updater just gets in a weird state...

MY iPhone 4 after being updated to iOS7 will not download or update any apps. When i press the button on my device to download a new app the loading wheel appears then in a few seconds disappears. I dont get a terms and conditions screen or anything.
