My computer won't recognize that my Windows phone is plugged in. How can I make it show up on my Mac Pro?
I downloaded the Windows Phone 7 Connector app from the apple store. It told me to plug in my phone to start but when I did, nothing happened. I am also getting no feedback from the phone or the desktop and finder of the laptop that the phone is connected.

You have to sync your photos from iTunes , if you cannot see iphone in itunes it might be due to itunes being corrupted or the apple driver issue.
To fix this, try the following:
1.Uninstall iTunes completely , and Re-install the latest version of iTunes, download it from apple website
2. Check whether its a hardware related issue , by using the phone with a different firewire
3. if it does show up in iTunes , and still facing the issue then try restoring the iphone [setting it up as a new phone , DO NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP] and then try re-syncing
4. I dont think the format of the photos matter , but still try syncing different format photos [generally JPEG formats are used] -
Now that I have upgraded to iOS 7, how can I make it so that I don't need a password every time I use my iPad?
In v6 airport utility "Join a wireless network" is not available once the TC is setup.
You must reset to factory and try again using the selection options.. and it can fail or not come up.. This is an extremely poor way to setup a TC.. and you should NEVER EVER DO IT.. that is why apple removed it. Since you are joining wireless it makes no difference where the TC is located.. since it would become a dumb AP and turn off its ethernet ports.
Place it right next to your main modem router, plug in by ethernet, and select bridge mode and create a wireless network. Never use Join a wireless network..
However for completeness here is the method.

Never ever do it.
If you need internet by wireless and backup to the TC.. then simply plug the TC directly into the Mac.

It's not clear why Apple made this change; speculation (which is not really allowed in these forums) is that it was done to protect the privacy of the caller.

HP Envy 5530 - computer won't recognize that the printer is on the same network

I bought this wireless printer last week (5-13-14). I have a working printer that was connected to my husband's work laptop via USB cable, but needed one to connect to our family computer, which is in a different room with the modem/router. My husband travels for work, so I want to be able to print without disturbing him and while he is away on business. I turned the printer on and connected it to my network with the password and printed out the network settings and the wireless report. There are about 8 other wireless networks in range of my printer (we're in a residential neighborhood), but we aren't having a problem with it connecting to someone elses stuff. I went online to download the driver software and it downloaded fine. I clicked on the desktop icon to launch the control panel for the printer and it opened up for me to install the printer. I went through every step and it won't recognize the IP address or the name of the printer, and therefore won't open up for me to do any scanning. Both the printer and PC are connected to the same network, but they won't recognize each other when it comes to going through the HP software to scan or print. I can go into word or something to print and it will let me print wirelessly, but it won't do anything from the control panel of the print software because it thinks the printer hasn't been installed. I've had Windows 8 on this computer since I bought it in 2012, but I have the computer defaulted to go to my desktop instead of the start screen, so I don't know if that makes a difference. I am going to go ahead and remove the device and uninstall everything so I can try again later. If I had known this was going to be a problem, I would have not bought the printer and just kept on doing what we'd been doing.Hello SarahD_07,

I understand you are having some troubles getting the Envy 5530 printing wireless on Windows 8.1. Are you able to take the I.P address of the 5530, type it into the address bar of your web browser and hit enter. Does it load a page about the printer?
Run the Print and Scan Dr to see if it can clear up the scanning issues if you can view that above page.

My computer won't recognize i have my ipod touch plugged in!
My ipod had been working fine till a couple of days ago when i plugged it in to charge it up and it won't charge. My computer doesn't even recognize that it's connected. If anyone has any tips or advice to help me i would greatly appreciate it.
Have you tried:
- other cables
- other USB ports, connect directly to your computer not through an extension cable or hub
- another computer or charger
The following troubleshooting to get iTunes to see your iPod but first you need to see if there is another problems like cable or hardware problem. If it doe not charge then it is likely a hardware problem with the iPod.

I have a Mac Pro and my optical drive is not working anymore.Thus, I went to the online store to buy another one.
Surprisingly, the only one I found was the macbook air (external) superdive.
I did not buy it online on that day. However, I went to the Apple Retail Store in Sydney to buy another external hard drive and asked to one of the costumer supports in red if the "macbook air" superdrive would work in any mac. The answer: YES!!! So, I got one. When I was paying the products I asked to the other "red mac guy" the same question... Again, the answer was YES!!!
So... Do these costumer support guys have any training. It is written in the box that requires a macbook air... That's why I asked for two different guys!!! Why did they say YES???
Ok! Lets not put the fault on the red guys... So I ask Apple:
Why apple does not make a external superdrive for pros?? Or one that works for all macs!!

Why can't we buy internal superdrives anymore? Neither the online store or the retail store sell them anymore!!!
How do I solve my problem? I have to waste my time, making an appointment and taking my Mac Pro to a apple store and wait untill all iphone user in the line learn how to send their photos to their facebook??
It is really strange how apple is leaving the pro costumers behind to become a ipad and iphone industry!
Let do not forget that mac only is where it is now becouse of the pros who made it name and did not leave it die.You know you don't have to buy a replacement dvd drive from apple. For example, take a look at OWC's selection.
You don't say what year your mac pro is so I use a 2008 as an example. On that page click the little picture that shows a 2008 mac pro. That will take you to this page. And there's an example of a Lite-On drive.
In addition, on the right side of that page are links to instructional videos on how to add the drive to your machine. Click, for example, Optical, med (medium) and you will see how straight forward it is to change the optical drive. -
I pre ordered midnight memories (a one direction album) a couple months ago. One of the songs was released early and was available to be downloaded. Because I had already purchased the album I figured that the song would automatically download but it isn't downloading. It says that it is purchased. Please explain how I can get the song to download without having to purchase the song or the album again.

My Macbook doesn't have an HDMI port, so I bought a converter. So I now I have my HDMI connected to my Mac and my TV. The problem is, I can't figure out how to make my computer screen show up on my TV. Do I need to download different software or update something? Or is it as easy as changing a setting?
When I go to my display settings, my computer screen shows up as an option, but my TV does not. I don't think my computer is reading it is connected. Please help me.

Have you opened System Preferences>Displays and selected Detect Displays?

Why is the window that I bring up so small? How can I make it fill my screen?
Every time I try to access Bible Gateway on this computer, it is so small I can't read it. I know it is something in the computer settings because the site is not small on other computers.
Try to reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

My weather app only has local weather on it and it's wrong. It was working perfecfly fine before I updated. I have already restored it due to another problem I have been having.
Well, I went to an apple store and they told me that I have to restore the iphone with VF -something- mode, this is made thru itunes. Now, I have an iphone 5s and I am running still Snow Leopard (OSx 10.6.8) on my mac and it work brilliantly, although they do recommend to do so on a fully updated computer.
But that does not excuse Apple, because let's face it, in recent days they have dropped the ball, on equipment, ideas and software, proof of that is that my mac book pro from the mid 2010 still has an optical audio inlet, the software runs more efficiently than the Yosemite and… well who's going to buy a watch worth 1000 quid with a battery that only last for a DAY, serious?

You've subscribed to iTunes Match on your computer's iTunes and uploaded your music to it from your computer, as on the HT4914 page that you posted from ? And you've turned on Match on your phone ? Without Match your own music won't go into the cloud and be avilable for streaming/downloading.
