My contacts keep disappearing

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 7 (I have an iphone 4s) my contacts will disappear every so often. The first time they disappeared was of course when I upgradd to 7. Apple, how hard is it to keep the contacts and retore them after an OS upgrade? And now, my contacts seem to disappear every week, with NO input or change instructed by me. I have just reclaimed my contacts tonight after what is perhaps the 4th time they have disappeared, by going to settings/contacts, email, and selecting download SIM contacts. Come on Apple! This is stupid!

I have the same issue on my 4S and they disappear randomly. I have tried to hard reset with the home and sleep button and that does not work. Restoring is the only way it works but I dont have my MAC all the time and I do not use icloud. Is there is any solution to this? my warranty is over and there is not clear solution to this other than taking it into APPLE to complain but it is no longer under the 1 year warranty.... ***** help..
This started only when i upgraded to iOS7. Not cool Apple....:-/

Why do my recent phone contacts keep disappearing and re-appearing?

I recently bought an iPhone 4S and synced my contacts from my previous smart phone.
Now, the contacts I add get saved, but they keep disappearing and re-appearing automatically. This has been happening for almost a month now.
It is very embarassing when my new Manager calls up and I ask who he is.
Please help.

So after the subscriptions disappeared yesterday, I resubscribed to Democracy Now! and Bill Moyers Journal.
This morning, I went to check iTunes... and two of the subscriptions were gone -- AGAIN! And the episode of Democracy Now! that remained behind was now listed under real Tim with Bill Maher.
I'm getting so frustrated with this... why am I having to re-subscribe to podcasts every day now?

I have the iPhone 4S and ever since I downloaded the iOS7 my phone has not worked well. My contacts keep disappering, same with my notes and I need my notes to help remember. Other times I'll be watching a video and the volume will just stop working. Sometimes, apps will just freeze up when I'm using them or the phone will just freeze up. However, the biggest problem is the disappearing contacts and notes. I need both of them and when I need them they always seem to disapear. Please Help!

Contacts keep disappearing

My contacts all disappeared last night - I re added the vital ones from my messages and recent calls however they have now disappear again , my contact list is still empty even though the names are still on the top of messages my contacts are empty

I have the same problem, All of my contacts disappear when I try to add or edit something. At first I thought it was some problem with .mac sync, becasue I would get an error when I tried to restore them from sync. I disabled sync for contacts but still they disappear when I use the Address Book. I may try disabling sync altogether and see what happens.
I have a backup that I have to keep restoring "revert to backup" but it's gettting annoying.
Let me know if you find a fix. I'll do the same if I find one.

My contacts keep disappearing on my Iphone4s

When I go to send a text or call I type the contact name the number its under and I recognizes the contact, but when I actually text or call the contact name disappears and just shows the number saved. I went to my contact list and most every contact name and number is gone. I typed the contact name in the search bar of my contact list and none of them show up. I reset my phone to see if it would fix the problem and it didn't help. Can someone please help me fix this problem, it is very frustrating.

Do you use iCloud and sync contacts?
If so does anyone else use your Apple ID?
If so do any of them use your Apple ID with iCloud?
If so then they got your contacts on their device and deleted them, which deleted them from iCloud and deleted them from your phone.

Contacts keep disappearing and reappearing on my iPhone

I have an iPhone 4S, 32GB, with Sprint. I have the iOS 7.0.2 on my phone.
Since the first iOS 7 came out, I keep losing contacts in my phone. People's entries will disappear right out from my phone. I usually have to go to settings, re-enable each group, and restart the phone a couple of times before the issue is fixed. I just had a friend call me and couldn't tell who it was. And it appears that the contacts that it is choosing not to display (in either the phone book contacts, or under the contacts app) are random. Has anyone else been having this issue with their contacts? And are there any fixes to this. It is very frustrating not knowing who belongs to what phone number. I'm going to have to start writing everything down in a paper address book.
Also, I've noticed that my cellular signal has been super, super slow since the update as well. I don't know if this an issue related just to Sprint, or if this is general for all of the carriers.

Why do my contacts keep disappearing on my iPhone 4s?

I updated my iPhone to iOS 5.0.1. I lost all my contacts when I went to open the app. They were there, but then they disappeared. Put some back in, and lost those! Is there any way this could be related to a virus on Facebook?

Could sombody be deleting them on anoterh device or via iCloud?

Why do my contacts keep disappearing?

My iPhone 3Gs periodically loses all contacts. I restore them from a backup, and a short time later, they are gone again. I do not have iCloud turned on. (Tried it, hated it, turned it off.) Any idea what's going on? The only possible clues I have are:
1. Once in awhile, just before contacts go away, the phone seems to turn itself off, then back on again. But I'm not positive about the timing of that.
2. I use Pandora all the time, and the problem may have occurred while Pandora was doing something. Again, not positive, just suspicious.

Im having somewhat the same thing.. I have a iphone 4 and for some reason it is deleting certain contacts. Funny thing is when you look at those contacts in message the msg's are there but the names are gone and there is a +1 infront of their numbers... Have tried everyth8ng short of wiping my cell clean... So frustrating... not being able to fix this..Oh and I have tried manually readding those contacts and within mins they disappear again...

My address book contacts keep disappearing and I haven't upgraded only updated. Any ideas?

My address book contacts disappear from the address book application, but when I check the library the files seem to be there. If I click on one of the files that should contain contact info, they are blank. I've restored the files twice from my time capsule and it works for awhile and then suddenly they seem to be missing again. I haven't upgraded to OS X, so the online support on address book does not help. I've only been maintaining the automatic updates. Any thoughts on my magically disappearing contacts? It makes synching my ipod a dangerous act.

ymcneil - thanks for the work around. But isn't it amazing Apple forces us to do this to maintain our privacy.
I live in Australia where there are good privacy laws protecting citizens. I do not want to be forced to use iCloud when the data sits in the USA with weaker privacy laws and also able to be seen by the US Government under the Patriot Act. Further I suspect Apple will interrogate my contacts and calendar for commercial purposes and I do not want that either.
I chose to synch my calendar and contacts with my iphone and ipad. I have relied for years on carrying around my phone with my diary on it. I can no longer do that.
Whoever made this decision at Apple has to be someone who knows little about the world. I can actually see EU regulators getting very annoyed by this.
I too woud like the itunes mac to iphone/ipad local backup given back.

I sync to icloud and also sync icloud conatcts and calendar top outlook 2010.
I find, often, the contacts disappear from my iphone as well as outlook.

Who else is using your iCloud account to sync contacts? Tell them to stop deleting your contacts or better yet, stop sharing the iCloud account.

As above, I do not use MobileMe as I know it could be related from viewing other articles...
I can get them back by resyncing to my mac, however, as soon as I view my contacts, its seems the phone does a process and they all disappear again.
I tried, erasing all content and data on my phone and re-setting up as a new phone.
I tried, simply restoring from itunes completley.
I tried, importing from sim card, but nothing really appears.
Any help would be greatly appriciated....suggestions, anything.

Contacts keep disappearing from Address Book

I have a problem that's driving me nuts. I am building subscriber lists but when I send out my newsletter, I started getting responses that people had missed out. So I checked and people I knew I had added to my Address Book Groups weren't there.
I spilt the group into two when it got to around 300 because I thought that might help.
Then I realised that Add To Address Book wasn't working from Mail's email address data detectors – it opens AB but doesn't add them, so then I went all the way back through and manually added the last few weeks worth.
Next day, however, all the new ones were gone. So I turned off MobileMe synccing and did it again. (Even so, that was set to use the MBP as the base, not vice versa.) Next day, all gone again (I shut down every night). I added the number to the group names so I could quickly check (dragging a list of addresses gives you an instant count).
Even more explicably, today the group names had reverted to the previous counts – and the previous names, even! Mb A-K 140 and MB L0Z 127, when the actual counts should be 152 and 146 (luckily I had exported V-cards with the manually added addresses in them).
What is going on?! I had deleted AB plists too – no difference. I do have an iPhone with Push turned on.

The phenomena in my case were a little different from the thread you mentioned, but after all it was Repair Permissions function (using Disk Utility) that made it all working stable again.

Contact pictures for favorites keep disappearing

this is really annoying. I keep having to add pictures to my favorite contacts and they keep disappearing. I've done it about 5 times. I go to the gallary, find a picture, size it and save it. They show up for awhile and then disappear. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue, Along with Calendar & clock freezing, No Power issue... (5 day old phone... Took back to Verizon the pulled the battery and phone restarted... But That Is Not Fixed )
