My contacts stopped syncing but my notes still sync?

After my most resent update my contacts do not sync from iPad to my iPhone .
The notes continue to sync no problem. I use iCloud , I have made no changes except an update.

FINALLY SOLVED -- The list that would not sync from my iPhone was one that had my name. I changed the name of the list with my own name to To Do Today. I tried to delete it but it was not possible. I realized that it is a permanent list wih my name. I started another list and it synced fine.
I thought Notes were not syncing to my Mac. I realized that my Mac had a setting whereby the creation date of the note is preserved. If I add to it, the date would stay the same.
However, on my iPhone and iPad, the notes are set to update the date whenever a note is modified. So the modified notes were syncing, but on my devices they appeared with the current date at the top of the list of notes, but on my Mac the change was down with the original date.

All you have to do is connect your new iPod to the computer that has the library for your old iPod.
When iTunes comes up, click on your new iPod under Devices.
At the top of the Summary Page click Music.
Click Synch Music.
Do the same thing for Photos, Apps, Movies and so on...
Now just synch the iPod.

BB Z10 - contacts stopped syncing with Office 365 - e-mails and calendar are still syncing fine

I have had my BB Z10 for over a month and e-mails, calendar and contacts were syncing great from my Office 365 account. E-mail and calendar still sync but I have lost all connectivity to the contacts. Nothing shows up from Office 365 (my other contacts show up ok from LinkedIn etc.).
Help as this is a critical function on my phone. I can't call or e-mail anyone if I don't have their contact information.

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Music stops playing but Music app still shows as playing

My wife's 4S keeps having problems while playing music. The sound will stop, but the Music app shows it is still playing. I don't really know what to even try to do to fix this. I may try restoring it. Might be a hardware issue. Any others have this happen? It is one of those issues that occurs at random so its hard to pin down. I may also have her try listening to Pandora for awhile and see if it does the same thing. Might be able to nail down if it is app related or hardware. Nevertheless, that would be one additional thing to tell Apple I tried.

The question is old, I'm not sure if the problem is the same as mine.
Symptoms:
I will be playing music
The song stops playing
If I skip a number of songs I will sometimes get one that works
If I return to "Songs" and search for the song, it will show up with a "download from iCloud" symbol
If I stop playback, then tap the "Download from iCloud" symbol, the song will eventually start playing again
Platform:
iPhone 4
iOS 7
Apple's Music app
Synced using iTunes
iCloud settings (Settings -> iCloud) only cover Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc
I do NOT have "iTunes Match" turned on, nor am I subscribed to iTunes Match
I do have "Show All" turned on for Music and Videos (Settings -> iTunes and App Store)
I do have "Automatic Downloads" turned on for Music, Apps, Books (Settings -> iTunes and App Store)
I have "Use Cellular Data" turned off in Settings-> iTunes and App Store)
My Music app is signed in for Home Sharing
How I have worked around the problem for the meantime: when listening to music, turn the iPhone 4's "Airplane Mode" on. Sure, I can no longer make or receive phone calls, iMessages, SMS, browse the web, or anything else but at least my music doesn't spontaneously stop.
I have not had problems with the iPhone ceasing playback of music that I loaded onto the device from CDs (i.e.: the problem only occurs with songs that I've bought from the iTunes Music Store).
Having reviewed the settings, I've turned off "Automatic Downloads" in case that's what has caused my problem (i.e. iOS 7 is getting confused about the song being on my iPhone already so it deletes the song and then re-downloads it). This problem has only occurred once every few months, so it's going to be very difficult to verify that any fix or workaround actually works.

Wifi stopped working but light is still green on Time Machine

The wifi on my Time Capsule just stopped working. All of the settings appear to be okay and I have a green light on the front of the system. When I tried to use my Airport utility on my MBP Retina it could no longer see the Time Capsule so I had to hardwire in with my older MBP with the ethernet connecter. I can see the Time Capsule when I connect this way as well as connect to the Internet. I checked all settings and rebooted but still no joy. I then did a restore to default settings and set up the Time Capsule using the same settings I aways have but still can't access the network. All of my wifi devices can see the router and connect but can't access the Internet. The ony device still capable of using the Internet is the MacBook that is directly wired into the Time Machine. I am at a loss as to what to check next. Do I need to just make an appointment at the Genius Bar? I have never had one go out on me like this before.

Let me suggest running the 5.6 utility.. if for nothing else the wireless client logging .. well any sort of logging was totally removed in v6. Why Apple Why??
If you run ML do this.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.

Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
2. Download and install unpkg.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
Good to hear you already are using network names that actually work..
Try loading istumbler on mac laptop or inssider on a PC laptop.. and do a wireless survey.. see if you are being overpowered on 2.4ghz.

Contact is hidden, but there - not sure what to do?

Today I received an email from a new contact. I did what I normally do and ctrl-clicked on their email address in Mail and opted to add new contact to address book.
But when I look up their name in the Address Book they are not there. Yet when I tried to add their mailing address (from within their email message) it would pull up their name as an existing contact. I added their address, and phone number. But still they do not appear in the Address Book.
I have closed it and reopened. No luck. I've no had this occur before and did nothing different from what I usually do.
I have tried adding them in manually. Then when I use the context menu to add an address and phone number to an existing contact it will show me two entries for their name. It does not matter which which I select to add this data to... it will not show up on the contact card I manually added for them in Address Book. I have to enter that manually also.
Is there any way I can view and edit the address book database file manually to see if this "lost" contact card is there?

I fixed it by following this advice which was given to fix another issue:
The problem seems to be with the AddressBook-v22.abcddb file. You will find it in ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/.
First, I quite address book. Then, I removed the file, AddressBook-v22.abcddb, from the folder to another folder (I did not delete it at first just to be sure). Then I restarted Address Book. This worked and restored the ability to add a contact from mail.
I also removed the MailRecents file from the same folder just in case that was the problem, but I think the issue was really the other file.

Array Member stopped responding, but was not dropped from NLB

We have had a standalone TMG array running for ~2 years now and recently had an issue come up we haven't seen before. Some users started complaining that all of our sites were unreachable. It would not even load the Forms Based Auth pages from the TMG server.
It would just spin, then time out. After investigation, it appeared 1 of the array members was not responding to requests, but was still in the NLB pool and trying to process requests.
The only symptoms I saw on the problematic array member were:
1- The servers was using 100% of the ram. They have 8GB allocated, and have never gone over 6GB.
2- There were 'Intrusion Detection' warnings about an all port scan attack from the TMG server to itself. So array member 1 was warning about a scan attack from a it's own public IP.
The issue was fixed with a reboot, but now I need to figure out the cause of this issue, and figure out a way to detect when it happens again.

As you mentioned, the RAM/memory usage is 100%. Did you see that in Task manager? Can you also see any app/process is using multiple memory?
In addition, I understand that TMG detected an all port scan attack from its external interface. Which traffic is routed via that external IP address? Maybe it is due to an IP spoofing.

Why did my Google Contacts stop syncing?

I have a Gmail account through godaddy. I was able to set it up and get it to sync through gmail for years. I can still get email fine. However, when I sync through iTunes, the contacts won't sync either way. If I add a contact to my address book through gmail, it won't show on my iPod touch. if I add something to my iPod touch, it won't show in gmail.
So far as I can tell, everything is up to date and I haven't changed any settings. Is there anything I can do?

IPad contacts stopped syncing to google contacts. Why?

It used to be that I could add a contact to my ipad contacts and it would instantly sync to my google contacts, and vice-versa. Now, it only does so from google to iTunes .
Is there a way to correct this?

Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars and verify a google contacts account is added.

If the music on your iPod was downloaded elsewhere or ripped from CD's, you can't transfer that back to a computer or another iOS device, iPhones/iPads/iPods weren't designed for this. That has everything to do with music industry rights and legal stuff.

Contacts notes still have extra characters

I have a pre that's 2 yrs old. I have been reading that the extra characters < br / > issue is known; in fact 2 other posts from 2010 were closed. I still have this problem; I added a contact 10 minutes ago and notes still added extra characters. The extra characters have never gone away since arriving a year (?) or more? any help coming?

OK - I just went into icloud settings on my iphone and figured I would toggle off the notes, back out and then go back and toggle notes back on... this was the one set of data that wasn't critical if I list it.
Notes came back, reminders are now back and contacts are now back... Still would love to know why these all disappeared in the first place. All seems to be back to normal though.

If that's not a real email, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

Make sure you are entering the contacts and calendar events on your iCloud account. On your iPad, check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar. Here make sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your default, and not something else like On My iPad, Google Calendar, and exchange account calendar, etc.
Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the contacts section) and make sure you have selected iCloud as your default. (If you don't see this settings, this isn't the problem).
If your settings for your calendar is correct on your iPad and it still won't sync new calendar events to your phone, go to icloud.com from your computer and enter any missing calendar events on your iPad that are not on your calendar on icloud.com. Once your iCloud calendar is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted, then after a minute or so turn Calendars back to On to sync your iCloud calendars back to your phone. Then enter a new event on your iPad and confirm that it syncs to icloud.com now.
If your settings for your contacts are correct on your iPad and it still won't sync new contacts to your phone, do the same thing for Contacts (add any missing contacts to icloud.com, turn iCloud syncing off, choose Delete from My iPhone, after a minute turn contact syncing back on, try adding a new contacts to confirm that it syncs).

- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
