No. Apple does not charge. It is entirely up to he carrier to set conditions and fees for unlocking.

I accidently "x" off the download of firefox 4 before it had finished and now the home page doesn't work. it loads but then wont let me search from it? i tried redownloading firefox but that didn't work is there a way i can resume the previous download?

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Try this:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• Then restart & see if you can update.

I was going to update my software for the IPad and I connected it to Itunes it synced up and brought up the ipad but didn't have the name, serial number or anything else but a question mark. After being synced and trying to doa software update of about 15-20 mins it suddenly brought up a dialog box and said it couldn't update the ipad until it was restored. I then hit the restore button and after a couple of minutes it didn't do anything and it disconnected me from itunes and now the only thing on the screen is the apple. I can not get it to do anything. I have tried to sync to itunes but nothing. If you push the button on the screen and the top button at the same time it will shut down. Can somebody please help me????
I had the same problem. In the end I downloaded it manually. Here's the steps assuming you are on a Mac and have an iPad Air (Wifi). If not you can find other restore links here.
In the terminal (it kept failing to download in Safari):

Once the file has downloaded, move it to ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates/
Quit and relaunch iTunes.

I have a MacBook Pro 2007 and I installed Mac OS 10.6 but I lost power in the process and now the mac doesn't recognize my hard drive, how can I fix this
I've tried it but since I'm using a USB disk drive it keeps freezing up or showing you a folder blinking folder with a question mark. (?). When I start the mac up I hold the control button until the Mac OS install disk shows up. My hard drive doesn't show up anymore. I got a message saying that the batteries were low, so changed them for new ones and now the keyboard cannot be 'found'. There seems to be no way to turn it on and make it 'discoverable' to the system. At the moment I'm typing this on a spare keyboard plugged into the back of my mac via a USB. Please help!
Have you checked to make sure the batteries are inserted the correct way? Have you tried to turn it on by pushing the right upper (round) edge of the keyboard - if you do that, do you see a tiny little green light? Since you have a wired keyboard, can you get to the Bluetooth setup/preference pane so you can manually try to sync the keyboard?

My granddaughter put the Start Up Disk in the drive inadvertently and now the drive will not eject it or start up using the HD. I have tried all of the suggestions for opening it that appear in the manual. Help? It is her computer, a iMac G3 or G4 with superdrive, the one with the ball shaped base. Thank you.
It's a tray loading drive, there should be a little hole next to it, just large enough for a paper clip. Stick the end of the paper clip in it and the tray should open.
