My converted word file is not editable...

Hi Haixia, frank7882 and going mad,
Welcome! Would the three of you mind giving me the specifics of the issues you are experiencing?
What type of PDF's are you converting to word? Are you receiving a specific error message? Have you tried rebooting your computers and logging into ExportPDF again?
I'd really like to assist!
Kind regards, Stacy

  • Not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard

    Hi,
I am not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. When I try to convert, it starts the process and in between I am getting this prompt, as shown in figure below and the conversion process stops. The PDF is not created.
Note: The filename 'Acr85.doc' in the above prompt keeps changing and is random.
I tried clicking Yes, No and Cancel on the above prompt, but the conversion process just stops and PDF is not getting generated.
I am able to create PDFs from web pages. No issues with that. Not working only with Word.
Can someone help me with this.
    Thanks,

  • Reader x will not allow me to convert word files to pdf

reader x will not let me convert word files to pdf's, even word files that have been converted before. unable to get support through adobe...

The free Reader has never been able to do much more than reading (opening) PDF files. It has never had the capacity to convert any kind of file to any other format.  If you could do it before, you must have been using another Adobe program/service.

This sounds more like Word than Indesign. I've never been able to resize
a column in Word without messing up the column next to it. There's
probably a way to make Word columns behave properly; I just don't know
    Word that well.
In Indesign, to make table columns act the way you're describing, you
must be either dragging the column wider from the left side; or (2)
holding down the shift key while you drag. Otherwise, making a column
wider just makes the table wider.
Try dragging from the right side without the shift key. You can also
select part or all of the column, go into the Table palette, and set the
column width exactly, by numbers (which is what I usually do, because I
like to make sure that my table adds up to exactly or less than the
    width of the text column).
Sometimes I need to make my tables wider than the page, temporarily,
just so I can see everything in them and decide where I can lose enough
space to fit the whole thing on the page. Remember that you can reduce
    cell insets, as well.

  • How to batch convert Word files to pdf

How do I batch convert Word files to pdf using Automator

Here is a drag/drop AppleScript solution that uses the command-line LibreOffice capability to convert MS Word (.doc, .docx) files into PDF. Drag/Drop a single file, or a folder of Word documents, and it will write the respective PDF back to the original file location. When it is done, an OS X Notification will slide out onto the Desktop and provide the count of processed files.
Save this AppleScript as a Desktop application that remains open after running. If you ignore the latter, the notification will not show when it is done. Tested on Mavericks 10.9.5.
    property name_extension : {"doc", "docx"}
    global fileCnt

        set fileCnt to 0

  • How would one convert Word files containing audio to a PC?

I'm not sure if it's possible, but how could I convert Word files that contain audio from a Mac laptop to a PC laptop? I really would appreciate any help, as I truly need these files for academic reasons. Thank you

    Hi, theocularone -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
This particular forum is set aside for users of OS 9. Since you are using a MacBook Pro, you can not be using OS 9 (OS 9 is not usable with any Intel-processor Mac).
You would probably get a faster, more directed response if you reposted your question in the appropriate OSX forum. Depending upon which version of OSX you are using, you can access those here -

I have pdf file with 500 pages created from AutoCad file. In all pages, I have different document numbers. The file is not editable in pdf. How to change all the document numbers using "Comment" feature? Any alternate method?  alternate method? I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro and Windows -7 platform.

Yes, I just want to cover up all the pages for those particular area of document numbers.
Nothing sensitive about it. I just want to show the correct document numbers on all pages in print out.
So, I wanted to cover up by comments, but commenting on each page will be difficult. So, I wanted to comment the same on all pages.

  • Acrobat XI Pro successfully installed, but it failed in converting word files into PDF, why?

I just installed Adobe XI Pro through the download assistant, it looks the installation went well, but when I tried to convert word files into PDF (tried many times), it failed. Anyone has the same problems, any solutions?

Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).

  • How I can convert word file to html file

    Hi all,
I need to convert word file to html File.. is there any 3rd party API ? please suggest me very soon.........
    or else
suggest me easiest way to achive this problem...

    Easiest way....
open up the document in Word, click on "Save as" and select "Web Page".
There are 3rd party APIs to read Word docs... but I don't know if they then allow you to export to HTML.
You may have to write that yourself.

  • A pdf file is converted to word. Then the word file does not take normal word formatting. Why?

Having trouble making the converted pdf to word file work properly under word commands and formatting that have worked for me
    well in the past.
    Please help.

    Hi filesneedtowork,
If you're seeing some jumpy text, or having trouble clicking in where you want, it could be a font issue that's cauing problems.
Try choosing Edit > Select All, then Edit > Copy.  Paste the entire contents into either a new Notepad file.  Then repeat the same steps from within Notepad and paste the text into a new Word document.
Let us know how it goes.
    Thanks,

  • Convert Word File into Editable PDFIhavebee

I have been sent a Word file which is an application form... I have to add editable fields to the form is there any easy way to do this from Word? The form is 10 pages and has many many fields so could take forever and was hoping there was a slightly easy way...

There is no way to add form fields in Word and have them transfer over to a PDF if that's what you mean.
You would need to convert to PDF then use the form tools in Acrobat.

  • Unable to convert word file (15000 kb) into pdf.

I am using Microsoft Word 2003 and have a fairly large file (15000 kb) containing numerious graphics with text.  I attempt to convert to pdf with the adobe appplication that attatches to word from installing Acrobat 8.  The process goes until the temp word file is created then stops and freezes everything.  It is necessary to repair Adobe 8 before continueing.  The only way I have been able to convert is to split the Word file in two and convert the halves than combine them after converting.  The problem with this approach the index created in Word will not work for the recombined pdf file so need to create two indexes, one for each half.  Any ideas?

This is an issue of the conversion creating a PS file between the DOC and the PDF file in the temp folder. You have run into the limit of the TEMP folder. You can empty the TEMP folder and see if that resolves the problem or do the compress as recommended. With WORD 2003, go to the format option for a graphic and in the lower left of the menu will be compress. Select compress and compress ALL graphics. You might do this one a copy if you do not want to reduce the resolution in the DOC file.

  • Converting Word files to pdf- Output is black and white

    Hello -
I recently updated the Adobe 9.0 Reader on my computer and now when I try to convert a Word file with pictures and/or difffent colors of fonts to a pdf the output is ALL black and white.  I've seen some people here on the forum saying their printer caused the problem, but I have not changed printers and this same Xerox printer worked before.  Plus, I am not even printing the files yet - just looking at them in Adobe Reader - and they are in black and white.  This never happened before.
    Any ideas?  Need help!

You may want to ask in the forum for Reader.

  • Converting Word Files with Backgrounds

I've created a Word file with a background by going to Format/Theme and choosing Slate. When I convert the file to .pdf, it fails to capture the background. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? It is an integral part of the document and I need it to transfer to the pdf as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, apparently the background does not print either. That is a terrible shame. So, it is not object data at all, and thus Acrobat won't print it. I'm left with creating a background image behind text then in order to make that work.
If anyone else has any ideas, it would be of great help.
