My CS products don't work after migrating them from an old mac to a new mac. Any ideas?

Help! I bought a new imac, and used the migration process to move everything from the old mac to the new mac. But now none of my CS products (eg Indesign) will work. I use CS5.5 and CS6. The CS6 says I can run "a trial version" - which is absurd, given that I have a legitimately bought version on disk (that cost over £1000!). The CS5.5. icon just bounces for a couple of times then closes before fully opening.
Adobe will not help, because they say CS6 is "an old product".
I am desperate - does anyone have any ideas?

Migration does not work with Adobe products. There are too many components in too many places, and they don't get copied properly.
You'll need to use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove what you copied:

Then download a fresh copy of CS6:

she worked right out of the box and then when i synced to itune, bam she went down. i read some other posts and they said shut her off in the settings tab and then turn her back on. it worked for me but from what im reading it will probably happen again. who knows if it continues to quit working i guess i will be calling apple cuz i spent way too much money on this phone for its biggest perk not to be working

I recently got MacBookPro, and transferred my old laptop files (including apps) to the new one. After trying to open Dreamweaver, I got an error massage. Sent it to, and closed the app thereafter. Than I tried to open the DW again but got a massage again. After that I was sure the programme is damaged, and I put the icon to the garbage box. Than I cleared the bos as was sure it would be possible to reload the programme (I'm a CreativeCloud member). But it is actually not possible.
My Adobe Application Manager marks the programme as an installed one, and it asks if I require any upgrades for the programme.
What shall I do to get DW istalled again?

using migration assistant is problematic.
at this point yes, you should uninstall everything migrated, clean and then reinstall properly using the installation files.

Did you put your old iMac in Target Disk mode? You need to do this to use Migration Assistant to transfer your files to the new iMac.
Hold the T key while your old iMac is starting up to start up in Target Disk mode. After doing this, your new iMac will detect it as an external drive, so now you can transfer your files through Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5872?viewlocale=en_US

If your "older" MBA has a Thunderbolt port then it isn't that old. See Target Disk Mode about how it's used. Note that without a monitor you won't be able to tell from the screen when it has fully started, and if it succeeded in starting in TDM. If it did, then the hard drive should appear on the Desktop of your new computer. You can then access it to transfer your files. You can even use Migration Assistant or any backup utility to transfer data. Just don't try to transfer system files.

Migrate files from an old HDD to a new one

I'm going to switch my HDD inside my MacBook Pro and I don't know how I should get my old files to the new hard drive. I see two possibilites: I use my Time Capsule to restore the backup or I just copy the old HDD to the new one. My question is whether I can use the OS X's migration assistant to clone a bootable drive, which is connected via USB 3.0. This would be the easiest solution for me, since some folders are excluded from the backup and USB 3.0 is faster than the Ethernet of my Time Capsule. So is this possible or not?

If the old laptop is a Mac, the Apple store will sell you a Firewire cable that will allow you to transfer the data from the old one to the new.

Environment Variables don't work after migrating zcm policy

I hope anyone can help me with this.
After migrating my zcm policies to active directory I found my Environment Variables set in my login script do not work anymore.
My guess is that somehow the Environment Variables in the login script are in a different cmd environment then the zcm bundles. but I'm still in the dark what migrating the policies to a different environment has to do with this... and how to solve it.
The policies didn't change, just the environment from where they are loaded...
I build a workaround by adding the set commands within launch command of the bundle, but I would rather keep them in my login script instead of builing 3 or 4 icons of the same application but with different set Environment Variables.
If anyone has a good idea... let me know plz!!

ZCM does not detect changes in environment variables until a reboot.
It's possible the variables were being set earlier in the logon process
which proceeded ZCM fully initializing.
Consider using something such as SETX.exe or SETENV.exe which can set
them permanently. There will still be a one logon delay until they are
seen.

Mail no longer works after migrating applications from Mountain Lion

This weekend I bought a Mac Pro 2.1. I upgraded it to Lion then migrated all my files and applications from my iMac (running Mountain Lion). Now the Mail app doesn't work. I can't uninstall it and Software update says everything is up to date. How can I get my Mail app to work again? I guess I've somehow copied the Mail app from the Mountain Lion mac which is why it won't run.

No unfortunately after the OS is installed the installer package is removed so you'll need to go through the whole procedure again.
There is a way to save the installer and make a bootable flash drive you can install off of. You should be able to find the procedure if you search here or on the net.

Runnig forms in oracle 10g after migrating them from oracle 6i

Guyz ....i have developed forms in oracle 6i and when i presented them to the my manager he says that he wants them to be web based.....arghhhh.!!!!!! shud have told me at the beginning itself....anyways i downloaded the forms 10g from oracle website and migrates my forms from 6i to 10g ....
1.The forms are getting compiled and i can run them on my laptop.. i wanna noe whats the procedure to run them on other system .....the port number is 8889
I mean running them on a web on some other LP or system.???
2.And my 2nd problem is that ...The records are not being saved in 10g as in 6i. I created the forms in 6i using the data block wizard and set the block accordingly as told by u people in this forum

Look at the existing formsweb.cfg configuration file located in your <DEVSUITE_HOME>/forms/server folder. It allows you to create different sections to start your Forms applications.
For instance, if you create a application_1 section, give this name in your URL.

Hello, I have had to rebot my whole system and erase my HD and start again. Everything has gone somethely all ofthw software is installed and fully updated. Now I am read y to reload my Music, Photos and document. I used Migration assistant which took two hours to move my files. I see them on the HD but I cannot access because I don't have "permission" to see them. How do I get i tune, i photo etc to wok with th efiles.

I recently upgraded my HDD to a bigger one (160G to 500G). The old HDD still has all of my data which I would like to migrate to the new drive. I purchased a device that a tech at a computer store recommended but when I plug in the old HDD (using this device) to my Macbook pro the HDD doesn't show up in Finder! Can someone explain what's going on and what I need to do to get my data back? Thanks for all your help.

In the Utilities folder, run Disk Utility with the external disk drive connected and powered up. On the left column of DU's window there should be three devices: the first one would be the name of the new drive you installed and its size, with the volume it has (probably Macintosh HD unless you renamed it) indented below it. Next you should see the device that corresponds to your old drive, now connected via the enclosure the tech sold you; the clue to identifying it is that the name should contain "160 GB" (the size) in it. Below and indented you should see the name your old startup volume had; probably Macintosh HD unless you changed it. And below that you should see SuperDrive, which you can ignore.
If there is no external device in the list (just your new drive and SuperDrive), that means the Mac can't communicate with the external enclosure; should take it back and have the tech set it up right.
If there is a second device in the list, corresponding to your old drive, but the indented volum name under it appears grayed out, select it by clicking on the name to highlight it, click on Repair Disk, let the repairs finish and if no errors are found, click on the Mount icon on the upper bar of the window. Your old disk with all your stuff should now be accessible. If it cannot be repaired or it refuses to mount, report back with any and all messages it may show.
As for moving things over, consider using the Migration Assistant to migrate, as explained here (yours is the third case, Time Machine or other disk migration): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4889
