My CS3 will close down before I can fully open it. What can I do?

When I start CS3, It opens ok, but when I try to import video footage it crashes and windows will shut it down.

Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • When I click and open my Firefox browser ,it always opens to Firefox welcome page ,NOT my google search page , which is my home page , how can I fix this , I have to always have to close FF before I can search !!??

Can you help me figure out how to stop Firefox from opening to welcome page / updated window, I have to close that before I can use my google search page ,which is my homepage !!

You can start by checking the Home page setting to see if that still links to the Google Home page (http://www.google.com/firefox)
    * Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
You can also check the startup setting just above the home page setting.
If the home page setting isn't correct and changing it doesn't last if you close and reopen Firefox then you need to check if the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/prefs.js_file prefs.js] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] isn't corrupted.

    First thing to (un)check:
When you shutdown/restart, there's a dialog box which confirms your request. In that box is a little checkbox which you should uncheck.

  • I have an error message reading "Iphone needs to cool down before you can use it". ?

I can only use the phone for maybe 4 minutes before this message appears with a yellow warning triangle. (Iphone 4S)
"Iphone needs to cool down before you can use it"
The phone is not warm and after a couple of minutes it is useable again only to repeat the same message a few minutes later.
I've done a restore which made no difference.
    Anyone have any ideas/similar problem?
    Cheers

I will assume you are using a slower iPhone 4 on iOS 7 if you are experiencing such problems so frequently. You might already be trying this, but my first suggestion would be to double tap the home button and see what you have running. You might not be quitting any of the apps you open. To stop an app from running and slowing down your phone, after double-tapping, slide the preview cards up for apps you don't need to run.

Double-click the Home button to bring up the app screen, then swipe upwards on the app.

  • How do I close down the apps I have open on my iPhone 4

How do I close down the apps I have open on my iphone4

Why do you want to close them down? They aren't using any power, and leaving them on standby (as they are when not actively being used) makes switching apps much faster. Instead of pressing HOME then navigating to the next app you want, possibly opening folders or changing pages of the Home screen, when you want to switch double-press the HOME button, scroll to the next app and tap it once. If you are switching frequently between a small number of apps (like Mail, Facebook and Twitter) this is much faster, because the Quick Launch ribbon (that's its official name) puts the most recently used apps together.

  • Why is it that every time I am doing something weather it's looking in the app store or using safari I iPad will close down and take me to my home screen? It gets very frustrating when you in the middle of something. I have checked for updates, none avai

None available. Any possible solution of what could be causing this issue. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Your iPad is as updated as it can be at 5.1.1. Your apps are crashing probably due to a lack of memory. Try keeping apps in the recents tray to a minimum. For starters close all apps completely, clear Safari and then reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
See if this helps at all. If if does, remember to keep apps in the recents tray to a minimum. You shouldn't have to do that, but unfortunately, iOS 5.1.1 stretched the capability of the original iPad processor to its limits .... IMO!

  • When i try to go to the itunes store, itunes will close down.  I have Windows 7 64 bit and I use chrome to access the internet.

I recently upgraded to windows 7 but had this problem in Windows XP as well.  If I try to go to iTunes from Chrome it seems to break my connection with iTunes and I can't get to the store anymore.  When I try to launch the iTunes store, my iTunes application closes down.  No error, it just shuts down.

I think that being signed into your apple.com account but with Safari first and foremost would be better as that would allow an Apple cookie to be set down onto an integral proprietary application (yes the Safari browser - go figure). Then (that is secondarily) you should sign into iTunes and have (more reliable) fun.
Google's motto was "Do No Evil" was it not? So do you honestly believe that their primary business interests and application performance jives with that of Apple? Sometimes yes, other times...no. Sorry, just sayin.

  • FCP 7.0.3 Import window closes itself before I can select anything

I just reinstalled FCS on my mac book pro and updated it to FCP 7.0.3. I am running Yosemite. When I select file>import the dialogue pops up but before I can click on anything or make a selection it closes. Anyone else see this behavior? What might be the cause?
    MBP Retina (2012)
    2.3 GHz core i7
    16 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
    OS 10.10.1

Well, I would say trash your preferences, but this is a brand new install...
One big thing might be that FCP 7 isn't supported on Yosemite...nor on the previous OS. FCP 7 was discontinued before both came out, and neither were written with support for FCP 7 in mind. The core of FCP is Quicktime, and Quicktime is being phased out by Apple...it is moving towards AV Foundation, which is the core of FCX.  In fact, QT 7 that is the main core of the app isn't on Yosemite, only the hobbled QTX.

  • If I deleted Firefox by accident why won't it let me re-download? Why does it keep telling me to close Firefox before I can download when it isn't open?

I went to delete websearch function and deleted firefox by accident. I could not bring firefox back up so I deleted the program to try to just reload and now it won't allow me to download it again. It keep's saying that Firefox is still running and that I have to close it and it is not open.

Internet Explorer, or firefox both will offer to make themselves the default browser, and there may be some actions that are not possible or very dificult in firefox. I do not recall Windows itself preventing me from using firefox, other than because of firewall action.
Possibly now security settings or software is blocking firefox downloads on your machine. When you do download firefox you may then discover it is blocked from running the installer, until you revise security settings.

  • Final Cut Pro Crashes Before It's Fully Open

I have used Final Cut on this computer for more than a year. Every now and then it would crash- no big.
Now it won't even fully open so I don't know how to fix it.
The only thing I can think of that I may have done was to clean out some folders across my entire comp. Is there something I could have deleted that could cause this? If so- where do I get it back?
    Please Please help!

Try to trash your preferences. Here is a free program that does that.

  • Why does my iMac shut down before it can boot up After installing 7.3 update on my iMac?

After installing 7.3 last night, I hit restart and went to bed.  My intel iMac i7 3.4ghz was powered down this morning, and only after unplugging, waiting, rep plugging,
It finally powered on, only to boot to the gray apple screen, go black and silent.  (this exact issue had me lugging it back to apple a month after purchase, today is 93 days)
Recovery mode got me about one second further in bottling up before shutting off.
I was forced to upgrade  from an unproblematic pc g5, after iCloud, so do not own snow leopard and was told I would never need a re install disc.
Has anyone having the powering off during boot after updating to 7.3?

omg. I would copy and paste your original post to the iMac section. You're talking about a fine piece of equipment, the Intel iMac i7 3.4ghz , and you should not be having such problems. Maybe others in the iMac i7 community might also have some ideas.
Re: the safe boot. That's good that it worked. This is fairly new and very, very helpful with a dead computer because at least you can get to Safari, get to the Internet and get ideas and seek help.
But why did it shut off after a while? That's not right. No reason it should have done that.
From something you said I would worry about your power supply problem or this PerIphrEa. I don't know what that is but Migration is built into Lion OS, no? Third party perificials (or apps) can certainly cause conflicts and not work as well as advertised.
Also, seriously, I would get some tape, like duct tape, and tape up that loose power supply.
Why do you need something extra for your migration? (Or is the reason your old PowerPC G5 needs to run Lion but it can't?).
If that is the problem, here's an idea. Continue the canibalization of your PowerPC G5, take out it's hard drive(s). Buy an 'enclosure' to put the hard drive in and allow you to connect this hard drive to your new machine, the beautiful iMac i7, using the old hard drive as an external drive.
I did exactly this with my old PowerPC G5, using this enclosure, a Macally G-S350SUA, info at: http://www.macally.com/en/product/ipod4show.asp?ArticleID=215
I now use this for my Time Machine backups.
Re:What is the proper amount of time the computer needs to be unplugged? This would worry me. I turn off my comuter NOT by unplugging it but by holding the power on button for about 3-4 seconds and then it turns off.
I then wait 5 long seconds before pressing the power on button again to turn the computer back on.
Having to plug in and unplug and plug in and having to wait ten minutes for it to work is not normal.
Is there a power supply issue in your home, perhaps?
Considering the value of this machine and the fact that it may still be under warrenty, I'd consider the  weeklong diagnostic. Would the machine have the same need to wait ten minutes to turn on at the Apple place?
What if you plug it in at a friend's house, or an office or library? Would it still take ten minutes before you could turn the machine on?
It might seem horrible to have to wait a week...or to do this again and again but I'd recommend taking full advantage of your warrenty, keep sticking this problem back to Apple and insist it gets made right. It will be worth it in the long run.
