My CS6 is not processing images from my Canon EOS 650D

CS6 is not able to process images from my Canon EOS650D
Do I need to update something?

The 650D was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 7.1
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
CS6 shipped with ACR 7.0 which is probably the version you're running. See Help > About Plug-in > Camera Raw
Click Help > Updates to update ACR.

  • I can't open RAW (cr2) images from my Canon EOS 650D

    Hey,
I use Photoshop CS5 Extended (Version 12.1 x64). I can open the raw-Images (cr2) from my Canon EOS 1000d/Rebel XT but I can not open the RAW-Images (cr2) from my Canon EOS 650D (Rebel T4i). I have installed the latest update for CS5 through the updaate command.
    How can I open them?
    Thank you!

    Hi there,
Support for RAW from Rebel T4i was launched in ACR 7.2 (Adobe Camera Raw). However, ACR 7.x is compatible only from CS6, not on CS5.
Sorry, but you can work with the installation disc you've got from Canon to convert the files into TIFF/ JPG or get the 7.2 DNG converter from here:
    Win - http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5486
    Mac - http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5485
Why don't you consider upgrading to CS6? There are some great upgrade prices in store right now.

  • Aperture processing images from new Canon 5D mark II

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to process images from the new 5D mark II with aperture. It's my understanding that aperture cannot process the images as of yet.
Also, does anyone know if there is or if there will be a plug in available for aperture to process the images?
    Thanks,
    Trish

  • I need to select to import only low-res jpeg images from my Canon 5D Mk11 camera to an iPad 2 and not RAW images

I need to select somehow to import only jpeg images from my Canon 5D Mk11 camera to an iPad 2
I take photographs in both RAW (high quality up to 30Mb file size) and JPEG low quality for use on iPad and Internet. The Raw files I save to a 1Tb Multimedia Storage Viewer and later down load-them to my computer where I process them for high quality prints.
Using the Camera Kit I can’t find an option to only download jpeg images, and fill the iPad memory with unwanted RAW images. Can you please tell me how to get over this problem?

Have you checked your "Import" settings for "Raw&Jpeg" pairs in the "Import" panel?
You can set Aperture to import raw, jpeg, or raw&jpeg.
If you imported Raw&Jpeg, but have set Aperture to use the Jpeg as original, you will see the imported image as Jpeg image, not as a raw image, even if the raw has also been imported. You can switch between Raw and Jpeg originals for selected images from the Photos menu:
Photos > Use Raw as original.

Solution discovered.  Faulty connector cable.  Tried a different one and it worked.

  • I have Lightroom 3.6 and it does not recognize the raw images from my Canon 7d mark II, suggestions?

I have Lightroom 3.6 and it does not recognize the raw images from my canon 7d mark II, suggestions, do I need to upgrade?

Yes, you need an upgrade for native support in Lightroom. You need version 5.70 or higher; current version is 5.71.
Alternatively, you could use the most recent DNG converter and convert the raw files to DNG files before importing into Lightroom.

  • Help, bridge will not convert the images from my Canon 7D into raw

Has anyone else had problems converting images from a Canon 7D into Raw format?  Bridge downloads them and then tells me it could not convert them.  Hopefully someone out there has a fix.  Aah the joys of new equipment and software.
    EW

Bridge should be converting image FROM raw format, not TO raw format.
If you have Photoshop CS4 you should update to the latest Camera RAW plugin:
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
If you have an earlier version of Photoshop (CS, CS2, CS3) then you can download the latest free DNG Converter and convert the 7D RAWs to DNGs and then an older version of Camera RAW can open them.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows
CS5 will be announced in a few weeks/months, and when it is available there will only be an upgrade path from CS2, CS3 and CS4, so if you have PS CS then you need to upgrade to CS4, now, before CS4 is available, otherwise to upgrade to CS5 you will need to pay full price.
If you have a PS version newer than CS then you can wait and upgrade to CS5 when it is out.
With either CS4 (and the newest Camera RAW update) and CS5, you won't have to convert 7D RAWs to DNGs to work on them.

    Breezley,
OnLocation CS3 used Direct Draw to create the video window.  In Vista, you may have noticed that OnLocation CS3 would disable 'Aero' themed desktops as they did not support Direct Draw.  Windows 7 does not have this functionality, so you must disable the Aero theme manually to see the video in OnLocation CS3.
To do this, right click on open desktop and choose Personalize.
    This will display available Themes.
Scroll down to the 'Basic and High Contrast Themes'.
Choose any one of the basic or high contrast themes.
    Restart OnLocation CS3.
This should bring your video back into view.

  • Adobe Captivate 6.0.1 published file is not containing images from the PPTX.

Has anyone had issues with Captivate not publishing images from the PPTx that show up in Captivate? What am I missing? I am running PowerPoint 2010 - and Captivate 6.0.1 and my published image results on some slides are poor quality, look dithered, and aren't retaining thier color or crispness. Some of the images from the PPTX aren't even coming across... here are two screenshots for example...
    Unpublished view from within Captivate
    Published view...

Hi Vish - I did not create the powerpoint or the image. I am not sure what image type it was but I recreated the white background as a PNG and it seems to have worked. I will forward my white background along to the creator for future projects. Thanks. It was definitely a problem with the image they put into the PPTX file.

  • How can I best load RAW images from a Canon SX50?

How can I best load RAW images from a Canon SX50?

9Sorry, ........confused about this process.   When I attempted to Post the question I had entered, I was told a blank space could not be posted.  So, I reentered the Q in the "space"........ which apparently was the space for an answer....!! ??......)
    >  When I try to load RAW images taken by my Canon SX50 from the SD card, iPhoto 11 -  (iMac/OSX 10.6.8) tells me that it can't read the format or something like that.    OSX 10.6.8 came out before the SX50, thus, did not include the related program.           I want to shoot RAW on the SX50....... but I then want to load them into iPhoto....... which I do directly from pics I take with my Nikon D200.
Not sure if this will help.............

  • My photoshop cs5 will not recognize raw photos from my canon eos 70d

my photoshop cs5 will not recognize raw photos from my canon eos 70d

No.  DNG is a RAW format.  There are a few small manufacturer specific items that are left out when converted to RAW (for example, Nikon's Active D lighting) that aren't maintained, as well as some Meta data and focus points, etc.  Personally I never noticed the difference, but perhaps some do.  There is no impact to the image quality, you have just as much post production freedom with DNG.
I did it for a couple years before upgrading to CS6.  It's an extra step, but you get used to it and it's not a huge deal.  I would put my card in my reader, and download to a temp file.  While that downloaded I would go to the fridge and grab a beer [Edit - you can substitute the beverage of your choice ].  Then I would run the RAW to DNG converter, and drink my beer.  It was usually done before my beer (if not I got another).  I saved the CR2 files as a backup at first, but once I got comfortable trusting DNG I stopped doing that.
Another option is to get Lightroom and use that for your developing.  You can then send over a TIFF file with the edits.  But in this situation you couldn't send the image over as a smart object (I think, I assume this would use ACR?).

  • I'm unable to download RAW images from my Canon Rebel T2i to my flash drives. JPEGS are fine. WHY?

Suddenly I'm unable to download my RAW images from my Canon Rebel T2i to my flash drives when just a few weeks ago I was able to. What happened? I can download JPEGS just fine. No error codes, software works like normal, i see the previews and when i go to my flash drives to open the files the dated file is there but it opens with no images. I've reformatted the memory card twice now, so that's not the problem. Any ideas from all my new friends out there. Thank you.

We may need more info.  What are your flash drives?  What are you using to copy?  What computer/OS do you use?
Normally a file is a file... a computer doesn't care what type of file it is.  Whether or not any software knows how to hope the file wont impact the computer's ability to copy it.  This makes me wonder if it is being copied, but can't be opened (e.g. if the software you are using doesn't know how to deal with a Canon T2i RAW file (.CR2).
RAW is more of a "concept" than a "standard".  Every camera model's RAW file will be slightly different.  If you want to open an image in, say, Photoshop... they provide "Adobe Camera RAW" updates for their software and you'd need the update that supports your T2i (btw, when Adobe releases a "new" version of software, they tend to stop providing RAW updates for all previous versions of that software.  So depending on what version of software you use... the only way to get it to work with RAW may involve having to upgrade the software (there are some cumbersome work-arounds.))

  • How can I import images directly from my Canon EOS 6D to Lightroom?

When I try to import from my Canon EOS 6D camera to Lightroom, the Canon EOS software intervenes and wants to take over. I have to quit that software, go to Lightroom, and import from there. This happens whether I use the USB cable or a reader. I'm new to Lightroom. When I used Apple Aperture, the import was immediate. Aperture opened and started the process as soon as I connected the camera to my computer. Any idea what's happening here and how I can fix it?

Do you need the Canon software? Uninstalling it would solve the problem. If it's anything like the Nikon software, it's not worth keeping ...
On Windows, you could possibly fix it by changing the file association for canon files, don't know how that's done on a Mac, though.

  • Lightroom 5.2 will not import a Canon CR2 picture from my Canon EOS Rebel XSi

Lightroom 5.2 will not import a Canon CR2 picture from my Canon EOS Rebel XSi

I have this camera model and it has been supported by Adobe products for many years, already, including LR 5.2.
If your XSi CR2 files won’t import into LR, then something may have corrupted the files, or the process you’re using isn’t quite right.
As others have said, please give more details of the process you’re using, any error messages you receive, and if necessary, you can supply a CR2 file for others to examine, by uploading to http://www.dropbox.com and posting a public download link to a reply, here.

  • I can't see previews of RAW images from a Canon PowerShot G16 in Lightroom 4

I can't see previews of RAW images from a Canon PowerShot G16 in Lightroom 4?

For that camera, you need at least Lightroom 5.2. The alternative would be to use the DNG converter, version 8.2 or later. Or, you can upgrade to Lightroom 5.
