My daughter bought a new ipod touch and when synced received the contacts from my iphone. She deleted the ones she didn't want on her ipod and now they are gone from my iphone. I have the cloud and i thought back up on itunes. I have tried to re-sync and no luck. How can I get my contacts back?
Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device. Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

I put the iPod into recovery mode and connected it to an iTunes account on a different computer but it does not pick up the iPod. When I connect it to iTunes not in recovery mode it says to unlock the iPod before it can connect to iTunes. I don't know where to go from here besides blowing it up or putting it in a microwave. If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
My daughter was trying to update her itouch and somehow lost everything on it, but itunes seems to have restored it back to what was on an older ipod she used to have. I don't think we ever registered her itouch, and I know she didn't back it up to the computer. Any chance of getting her stuff back? She lost hundreds of pictures.

- On the computer go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backup of her iPod.
Note that the backup does not included synced media like apps and music.
- Is she update the iPod via iTunes on other then the computer she syncs with the media on the iPod gets erased. Same for if on the syncing computer if the media was not in the iTunes library. -

So the music they had put on is all that's gone. I had synced everything, and even backed it up, but didn't know that I would have to save it to my computer separately. I actually thought it was on it, before now.
Is there any way to get her music back, without having to repurchase what someone else gave her?Okay, but this is nothing new. Purchased content has ALWAYS been permanently tied to the AppleID account used to buy it. It has never been transferable between accounts, or playable on computers not authorized for that account.
It has nothing to do with how you sync or save your OWN music. You cannot authorize your computer for music bought with an AppleID that you do not control. -
I'm totally new to iphone/ipod. I need help with the following:
1) How do I get rid of a folder of photos that showed up on my daughter's ipod touch when she received some songs from her aunt's itunes? After she got some songs from that itunes a folder of pictures showed up with no delete option. Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?
2) Also, my daughter uses same itunes as myself, how do I make sure any pics I have on my iphone & icloud (itunes) don't show up on her ipod? I shut off my photostream so perhaps this is the solution. But I noticed that a message I sent from her ipod to my sister (an iphone user) later showed up on my iphone (as if I had sent it from my iphone)! That was really odd. I'd like to keep our itunes account together simply so I can monitor her downloads, etc so I don't want to open up her own itunes to avoid automatic syncing.
I only want to share music between our devices. I don't want her pics nor my pics to go to icloud/itunes.
Thank you!1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.

Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
- Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
- Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
- Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores. -
My daughter has entered the wrong passcode too many times on her iPOD Touch, it is now disabled. When I connect to iTunes, it will not let me go any further until I enter the correct passcode. I no longer get the option to do this, all I get is iPOD disabled. Help Please
Restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

My daughter forgets her passcode and it's disabled the device?
Hello
My 8 year old daughter put a pass code on her ipod touch and now she forgets what it is. The device reads iPod is disabled, connect to iTunes. However it will not let me connect to itunes because it says her device is locked and that we must enter a passcode. How do you fix this issue?Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
