My daughter's ipod touch was hacked.  She is locked out of it.  It says try again in about 22 million minutes.

How do you unlock an ipod touch that has been hacked and locked?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

  • My ipod touch turns off and on all the time i cant charge it because after about 2 minutes it turns off PLEASE HELP!

MY Ipod touch frequently turns on and off please help!!!

Try connecting the iPod to its syncing computer and restoring the iPod.
If you can't restore, see if resetting the iPod will allow a restore:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that was unsuccessfulm see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow a restore.  For recovery mode see:

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it.  If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

  • Daughter's iPod Touch Stolen

    Hi,
My daughter's iPod Touch was stolen at her school today. She has the iPod locked with a passcode. Is that going to render the iPod useless to whomever stole it, or can they just restore or erase it somehow?
    Thanks,
    Ray

    That's not quite true.
The iPod would have to be restored from the computer it's already synced to, what you'd have to do if you forgot your pass code, not the computer of whoever stole it.
It's a good bet that the iPod will be useless to whoever stole it.
The restore will work, and the device will be usable. But, the data will be gone unless the device is synced to the computer it was originally synced to.

    Yep, here's the link : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
The only way the restore will work is if whoever swiped it syncs it with the daughter's computer.
Thanks for the link, Pamela...but, you may want to read the kbase article you linked.
From near the end of the article: +"If you restore on a different computer that was never synced to the iPhone or iPod touch, _you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode but your data will not be present_. "+
To me, that sounds like exactly what I described in my original response.

  • HT1212 My IPod Touch is locked & I cannot enter password or even slide to unlock. Is there a way to correct this. It also says I can try again after 23 million or so minutes.

My granddaughter had not used her Ipod Touch for a few weeks & when she attempted to turn it on it was locked w/ a message indicating the Ipod touch was disabled & to try again in 23 million + minutes. I cannot even attempt to unlock it as the slid function does not work. Are there any ideas as to how to reset or correct this problem?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
