My Daughter's name shows in iMessage Buddy window instead of mine

In the Buddy window I see my daughter's name instead of mine. How do I get my name to show back up? The computer is only used by me, but my daughter uses iMessage from her iPad using my iTunes account with her email address.

Find the My Card (Head and Shoulder icon)
If this is not your details then find your Details and use the Card Menu > Make this the My card.

You need to set up the accounts in System Preferences/Accounts, then activate Fast User Switching.
That way you can quickly log in to your own account - then back to his.
You should obviously have different passwords.

HT1766 I got a new Ipad mini and tried to back it up to look like my Iphone, however, it chose to pick the stuff from my wife's Ipad instead. Now I'm showing her games and apps instead of mine.

Try iMessaging your own iPhone and see if your account is actually logged in.
It can appear "enabled" and On line but sometimes it is not.
Also try sending from your iPhone (number) to your Apple ID and see if it gets to the Mac.
If it does not use the Sign Out button.
Then shut down the Mac
On restart add back the Apple ID to the iMessages account settings.
I also just checked My wife's iPhone as she popped up red.
It turned out her iPhone did not have Messages On.

I am using my own Apple ID. (My father doesn't even have one). I seem to recall having to select a contact or something to assign to my iMessage app when I used it the first time on my iPad. I checked the settings and it is set to my apple ID and correct email address. Any other ideas?

When using iChat, what could be causing the person I am chatting with to see my daughter's name instead of my name?

I had a regular chat buddy tell me that I was showing up in his chat window as Rosie (Last Name) instead of Michael (Last Name). I had noticed once or twice before when I had gone to Apple support to sign up for an Express Support call (where they call you at an appointed time) that it had Rosie's name instead of mine. I thought that maybe my daughter had called in for technical support or something.
But after my chat buddy said he saw it on his chat window, I logged into the Manage your Apple ID site and sure enough it had the wrong first name assoicated with this Apple ID! So, I edited that back from my daughter's name to mine and submitted that change.
Well, that chat buddy is still seeing me as Rosie, even though it all looks correct now at the manage Apple ID site.
I'm not sure what to do. My daughter has her own Apple ID which is part of our MobileMe family plan. So, I guess in that sense there is some linkage between hers and mine. But that shouldn't create a problem should it? It's a unique username. I think they're only connected in a billing sense. And they soon won't be in iCloud.
Can anybody tell me why this is happening?

What I meant by "First Name" is the one at the top of the list as it were when the Family account was set up.
(All the other sub-accounts tend to be regarded as Aliases)
As @me.com names can now be linked to iCloud IDs it may pay to look at separating the account out into different IDs in their own right.

I still have you in my Buddy list.
Whereas you were showing just plain "Norma" you are now showing "Norma Howe" in Capital Letters.
The only way I know to achieve that at my end is to View any Display Name that was set up or Add those "First Name, Last Name" Details to my address Book and list your Screen Name against them.
IF the AIM Settings Display Name items does not List NORMA HOWE and in fact lists something else the only thing I can think of is another App allows the Display name to be set from there and this is overriding the AIM Setting info.
I fired up an old version of AIM for Mac (version 4.7 from 2005) on my G4 computer running Leopard.
This Identifies Buddies that have entered Display Names (puts them in the Quotes as in "NORMA HOWE")
In the Preferences of this version of AIM for Mac it has a Sign On tab.
This has a box to enter how you show up (i.e. the Display Name) This version hints at adding Capitalisation and Spaces to your Screen Name.
Actually when I tried to change it to anything this version refused to let me.
So I changed my regular Name to "Ralph Johns r"
This however does not change the AIM settings page

This would suggest that if the AIM setting page does not have this info then it is an AIM app somewhere.

How do you sync playlist made on iPhone 6 back to iTunes on Macbook Pro? The playlist name shows up but with no content.

I made a playlist on my iPhone 6 and thought it would sync to my iTunes account when I connected my phone to my Macbook Pro but it did not. The playlist name showed up under my playlist names, but there was no content in it and it had a different playlist symbol (music note with bars) than the Smart Playlists (gear) I have made in the past on my computer. The playlist has a few hundred songs on it, so I don't want to have to do it manually. Is there a way to get the playlist content I made on my phone into my iTunes on my computer? Thanks!

I have synced my Iphone and everything is on there but when I activated my daughter's iphone it recognized it as mine and now it won't sync any music because it thinks it already did it. How do I go in and change it to my daughter's name?

I think if I restore it to factory settings, it will mess up my phone. How do I go back in to restart the whole process under my daughter's name?

As amy_lou said, iTunes will recognize both phones as different devices. If they have the same name, rename one of them so it is easier to recognize which is which. This explains how to do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3965.

I had this problem too, I fixed it by going to my settings and under general at the bottom there is a reset option, go there. One of the options should be reset network settings, select that one. I’m not sure why it happens but that worked for me; hope you have the same luck!

I need to put three parts together. I tried adding duplicates of the song to the list but if If I change the start time on one it will change it on all of them.

In your library, right-click the song you want to edit.
select "get info".
go to "options" and select the start and stop times for your first section of the song.
click "OK".
Find the shortened version of the song in your library. It may take a minute for it to show up. right click it again and select "create (????) version". (the ???? is different for different formats).
The library will spit out a new, second version of the song which you can rename. I suggest you use the original title and add a 1 to the end.
Now you can go back to the other version and repeat the process with a different start/stop time.
Once you are done editing, you can burn all of your versions to a disk, just make sure your interval time is zero so there are no gaps between edits.
To keep the orginal song on your library, just go back to the original and put the start/stop times back to the original settings.

Drop Down Box Choose A Name and Have only the first name show up

I am creating a form for health care.
I have a drop down box with names of Physicians... their full names so they can be easily identified. And then subsequent fields that will be populated based off of the choice. However What I need is that after the full name from the drop down list is selected than only the Dr's First name shows up in the box to be distributed through out the file. All the rest of the information is already in using this Java:

I want to display "Profile" as a name of this popped up window.
I have set this property while opening this window, but it still shows complete path of App-2 as window name.

That's odd... So the application title shows perfectly, however if you try to set it deliberately to a more descriptive text in a popup, it shows the complete path.
I can imagine setting the title would only work on a Modal window, so its framework controlled, not sure about a non-modal window though...
If your application runs in a portal, you could try using the following method:

HT201991 When I review an app, my 'name' shows up as just a bunch of random letters.

I noticed that if I review an app, my name shows up as just a string of random letters like "BJKCLCJDOIOSUODIDJDJLD"
I also noticed that it seems everyone else's review name shows up as at least something that reads like a nickname.
I have tried finding help on why this is but cannot. Can anyone help me here? My apple id is my email address and not sure there's any way to change that.

I have an iPhone 6 and have been having this issue since I got it in December 2014. Apps open on their own, scrolling up and down, etc. It's like a ghost is touching the screen. It seems to be the worst when my Verizon connection is only at 3G or my wifi strength is low. I'm not sure if it's an iPhone thing or a carrier issue?? Any ideas?
