If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad/iPod into Recovery Mode

My sister's iPod is locked up and we need it unlocked now!

Put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then restore it:

  • I chose by mistake ''voice over'' and now I can't unlock my iPod

Yesterday while I was changing some settings I saw that Voice Over, I didn't know what it was so I chose it and then I couldn't choose anything else. After that iPod locked and now I can't unlock it . I can't choose and select anything. Can someone give me some advise please? I know that it sounds a little stupid but I really need help....

Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:
iPhone: Configuring accessibility features (including VoiceOver and Zoom)

  • My iPad is locked and says it needs to be backed up

My iPad is locked and says that it needs to be backed up.  My home is  wi-fi hotspot, so the iPad is constantly connected.  I am having problems getting to merely turn-off.  Was there a software change recently?

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
