My desktop and start menu doesn´t show, i can´t open any of the control panel features

Hi guys, i have a new dell server with windows server 2012 essentials, but suddenly i cant´t see the icons of my desktop and i can´t acces my start screen with the windows button, if i make a right click in the screen an make a refresh, the icons appears,
and the programs run fine, but i can´t get to any function of the windows server, not control panel, the windows explorer. I dont know how to repair this problem, without reinstalling windows sever It's not an option because i have an ERP wich cost a lot to
reintall it if i do this, regards

Did you install the Windows Server 2012 Essentials version by yourself or it is a pre-installed OEM version? If it is an OEM version, you can ask the seller for assistance.

Can you open the command prompt? If yes, please run "eventvwr" at the command prompt to check if any related event IDs existing. In addition, you can also run the antivirus software to perform a virus scan.

Have you looked in iPhoto on your Mac under the "Photo Stream" area shown on the left sidebar?

Starting Photoshop 2014 CC from Desktop and start menu states ExtendScript.dll error

I purchased Adobe CC for Student this morning and when I go to launch Photoshop 2014 CC from start menu/desktop it states:
"This Program can't start because ExtendScript.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"
If however I try to launch from the directory of the installation or the task bar it launches with non of the errors stated above I will also state that
when I go to search the directory for the .dll file its there, is there a fix for this or will I have to install this completely.

Did you run the 15.1 update from Help > updates or from the CC Desktop Application?
Try installing that, if still fails, might need to uninstall, and reinstall.

Firefox desktop and start menu shortcuts were hidden after install - why?

I just installed Firfox 5 and after installing both the desktop shortcut and the start menu shortcut were marked as hidden in windows.
Anyone else experienced this and have any ideas what could have caused this. It was rather confusing.
I'm running on a brand new laptop (Dell XPS-17) running Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit). The only candidate I can think of is the computer came with McAffee, which I haven't used in years. It was appallingly bad back then but thought I'd give it a chance as Dell gave me 15months free.

I would like to suggest you try these steps to figure out what could be causing this problem.
1. Run Troubleshooter
Open the Search and Indexing troubleshooter

2. Create a new library and include fewer folders for test purpose. Now search for a file from that folder. See if it works.

3. Try to rebuild search indexing. Refer the steps from the following article.

Also you may use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to check the issue. The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

hp mini 1000/ mdl 1151nr windows loads but i do not have desktop or icons. no start menu. how can i get my desktop back?

Tap away at f8 as you start the PC to enter Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrows to select 'Start using last known Good Configuration' and hit enter. See if this helps. If it does, I would recommend running a full scan with your security software.

An automatic software update on iWork went in on Friday. Now I can't open any of the programs; they all crash. My local Apple Store Genius said send the program to the trash bin, empty it and do a reinstall. This has not worked either.

On Friday my iMac downloaded and installed an automatic update for iWorks, since which none of the 3 programs in the suite have worked. Numbers crashes immediately. Pages puts up the opening screen but won't open any files old or new. I don't use Keynote so I can't say whether that was affected or not.
I asked advice at my local Apple Shop and was told to trash iWorks, empty the trash, then do a re-install from my original disk. After the 2nd attempt, this gave me a message that it had been successfully installed. Now all 3 programs crash on opening. I have only had the iMac since November 2010 and am still a novice user, although I have nearly 20 years' experience of Windows OS from 3.1 to Win7.

I've just downloaded Firefox 4, with Google as my Homepage.When I start a search, I get a page of results but can't open any of the links. The search just stops.

I've reset my firewall, re-booted and made sure that it was a 'clean' Download all with no result.

Are you using Internet Explorer 8 at present ? 
Does Firefox actually work or can you not even use this messageboard with Firefox ?
You have a search bar (by default) on the top right of the screen, that will include an option to use google, does that work ?
Your ordinary location bar where you type addresses also (by default) uses google, is that working ok ? 
What happens if you type in "firefox", I would expect you to get a google search page with mozilla.com towards the top of the list.
Try firefox in [[Safe Mode]], but on the first dialogue window do not make changes, just click the continue button.

With labview6, windows2000 and AT MIO 16 E-1 I can not open any DMA chanels?

I have updatet from Windows98 to windows2000 and from
LabView5 to Labview6.03. No my vi tels me that there are no DMA channels available when I use my AT MIO 16 E-1 card. When I use my AT MIO 64 E-3 card, this is
not happening. My vi performs Analog input
and analog output synchronized by an internal clock.

This configuration is the same as the one that worked with win98 and lv5. I tried to use only one DMA channel, but I get the same error. The strange thing is that I can perform both AO and AI separately, without any error messages. It is my vi that performs simultaneously AO and AI that creates an error. What I do is to route the AO update signal to PFI pin 5 and configure the clock for the AI from this. At least it worked fine in win98 and lv5, but there was problems with bugs in the early version of win95 when I upgraded from LV4 to LV5. These problems were fixed by upgrading to win98 (or a newer version of win95). I guess I might have to wait for Service Pack 4 or some thing like that? I have attached the vi that causes problemes.
It could of cause be that I have done some mistakes in the vi that I LV5 and win98 let me get
away with?

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
