how do I get my desktop back to normal. It has transparent icons and safari is black with transparent web sites

You can't. Not much pointing having a passcode if you can override it.
You will need to restore the device as new to remove the passcode.

Thanks for the reply, this is what I did to resolve it:
Fix:
Uninstalled Desktop agent from add remove programs
Re installed program
Do a complete restart or the prog will continue to crash
Test program by logging in with user’s credentials

Adobe reader has buttons next page and previous page, why not also top of current page and bottom of

Changing body text is not simple. It's a desperate last resort. You need to buy the exact font. Acrobat will not let you edit in a font you don't own. Even then, it's undertain. Consider preparing an overlay in InDesign.

Basic troubleshooting steps oultlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
You need to go through all steps in succession until your problem is solved. If going through ALL these steps fails to resolve your issue, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Since upgrading to FF6 and now through FF7 web pages need repeated refreshing to load this does not happen with other browsers. I have tried many solutions. None have worked. Any ideas?

Problem began after a Firefox 6 update (i do not remember which one) and has continued through current use of Firefox 7.0.1. Almost all '''web pages load only through repeated refreshing'''. If I do not refresh the web page it will just continue to try to load (as seen by the green rotating ring continually revolving) in a new window with a new tab (as I have set it to do). Nothing stops, nothing crashes. Once the web page completes and opens (after the refreshings) I can close the window click on the bookmark icon or originating link and the web page will load and open quickly (as it should). I have searched for solutions on the Mozilla site and have done many of the possible solutions (deleting history and caches, etc.) Problem seems to be communication in origin (my FF browser talking to web page server). I do not use a proxy. My set up to the internet is: laptop thru Verizon USB modem to internet. Operates as a wireless dial-up with speeds averaging 55 kbs (fast enough for me). I have used this set up for years with no previous trouble. Anyone have similar trouble, ideas or solutions?

Thanks for your reply cor-el. I had never heard of nor seen the pref network.http.max-connections until I read about it in some of the replies in this support forum. People were saying 256 was the old setting and a new setting of 48 would correct my problem. When I followed the instructions to get to - see - and change the setting I discovered that my network.http.max-connections was already set to 48. I never did this. The only way I can think of that this setting was changed is that it happened by an automatic update to my Firefox browser. So, the problem I have was probably happening while this setting was at 48 all along. It is still set at 48 and I am still having the same problem. I will try as you suggest and set it to 30 and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. That's again for your response.

I've updated a web site and the links no longer work. I'm using Dreamweaver. The page works perfectly in Safari but not in Explorer or Firefox and I don't know what to change to fix this.

I thought I did post the page. Anyway, I did solve the problem. I'm working in Dreamweaver on files originally created in GoLive. The CSS from GL has to be completely expunged from the file or Firefox has this issue (doesn't respond to links). This, even though the problem had no obvious connection to the linked text. Interestingly, images with links worked fine.
I spent 45 minutes on the line with Adobe tech support and they didn't catch this. But while talking to them it occurred to me.

Change src of iframe in web page widget (CP 8)

Hi there.
I would like to know how can I dynamically change the src attribute of <iframe> defined in Web Widget in CP 8.
I have tried many things (for example getElementsById() command, written as an action of CP button) but it didn´t work.
I´ve heard about Web page Widget for CP 6, which enables dynamic changes of widget´s source through the CP variables.
Is there any solution of this problem for CP8 ?

I have only one CP slide (I don´t want to use more slides for presentation),
which contains 30 images (overlayed),some buttons (for stepping and showing images - back and forth. For these actions I use the variable and javascript Script_Window)
and one Web Widget.
For every image I want to view corresponding PDF file (increment/decrement variable => wiev image and change "src" of iframe in Web Widget at the same time).
Switching images is no problem for me.
Unfortunaltely, I don´t know how can I change the "src" attribute directly from Captivate and I don´t have much time to finish the project.
I have tried to write external html file with its own javascript,variables and buttons and linked it to Web Widget.
This works correctly(I mean switching PDF files), BUT when I try to call Captivate functions from this external JS (for example cp.show(),etc.), it doesn ´t work.

There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to fully boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
1. Boot into Recovery (command-R at startup; 10.7 or later), from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup; 10.7.2 or later), or from your installation disc (C key at startup; 10.6.8 or earlier.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in the support article linked below, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”

If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode by holding down the key combination command-T at the startup chime. Copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and needs to close

For Oracle Desktop users:
a) do you ever get this msg when you exit Discov?
b) this pc uses: Windows XP Professional 2002 SP3 - does your pc have same?
I am trying to run Discov. through command line in a .bat file form Microsoft Access VB/A and:
1) the bat file works if i run it directly from Windows Explorer
2) the bat file DOES EVOKE Discoverer when executing from VBA, but it fails right before the parameter screen
comes up with a Windows error
3) bat file evokes the query WITHOUT parms, so that user can enter parms themselves
Rod West gave me an idea, yet trying to see if it's a more basic problem related to pc, Windows, etc.

a) i can try your idea, and if the idea works, it does not really help me, bec. most of my reports use parms
b) if i run .bat file directly from Windows explorer by clicking .bat file and then pressing enter , discov. opens fine
c) if i run .bat file from with Access VB/A using shell(full pathname of .bat), discov. fails right before parm screen comes up
this happens when i am signing in as myself, and executing a query from another sign on called SREG
as explained below:

Firefox suddenly changed so now the tabs are hidden and the taskbar at the bottom of the screen is gone completely. What happened and how can I get these back?

Hit the F11 button and get out of fullscreen.

My Firefox button has totally disappeared, along with bookmarks tab. It opens immediately into a web page and only the open page tabs appear. Help.

touchpad seems hyperactive and I can't figure out how to fix that either, but things change when I'm just trying to move the cursor around.

You only see the orange Firefox button if the menu bar is hidden: View > Toolbars > [ ] Menu Bar
Most likely you are showing the Menu Bar. Right click on a toolbar space and uncheck Menu Bar - the Firefox button should appear. You can toggle from one to the other.

On the "old" Firefox I could copy a section of a web page and tranfer it elsewhere. The new Firefox has an edit option but it always greyed out and unusable. Why can't Icopy a part of a web page??

I try to copy a UPS shipping tracking ID code so I can transfer it to the UPS tracking web site--but the edit option on the Firefox is always greyed out and will not respond when selected--doesn't work. Therefore I have to copy the code on a piece of paper and then go to the UPS web site and type in the code. It was a lot easier when I could copy the code and transfer it to the UPS page>

That Edit menu in the Firefox menu button should have three icons (Cut, Copy, Paste) that are enabled if there is text selected or something is on the clipboard. The arrow at the right of the Edit item will open the Edit menu.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

I updated to Firefox 3.6.13 and now have no Web page previews/thumbnails when I open a new tab - how do I get them back?

I love this feature, but I do not know how to restore it after downloading and installing FF 3.6.13. What do I need to do to get this feature back? Is there a possible conflict with another add-on or toolbar? I have these toolbars: Google, The Free Dictionary, and Amazon.com. (The plug-ins you can see below.) Incidentally, the Firefox version displayed in the "educated guesses" section is not correct: it shows 3.0.11 and using the Help menu and choosing About Mozilla Firefox, it displays 3.6.13.
