My desktop has stopped acknowledging my wireless mouse.

THis has happened once or twice before. WHen I took it in they couldn't find anything wrong and it was working fine. (of course). I have changed the batteries. The light on the mouse flashes correctly, so it is "discoverable". Now, Bluetooth doesn't even appear in my system preferences. When I search apps for Bluetooth, many folders and files appear.....no idea what any of them are. It was working just fine, twelve hours ago. Other wireless is fine.

What wireless modes did you enable?
802.11a/b/g/n? All or any specific one?
iDevices support n and g. I'm not sure if setting your wireless modes to n only or g only will help, worth a try though. Another possibility is you've checked "Do not broadcast SSID (network name)" on your router which is why it's a hidden network".
Enabling use of hidden networks
Wi-Fi
Other network
Enter network name, case sensitive
Set the correct encryption or type of security
Enter password
Done.
Alternatively, you may enable SSID broadcast by going to the router's default gateway page. This can be accessed by finding the number through (Im telling a windows method as Im a windows user)
run "cmd"
ipconfig -all, look for default gateway
Type the default gateway numbers with the mask "." into the browser URL bar.
Enter router settings password
Locate your wireless network settings and make the appropriate adjustments. (You may need to consult the user manual
Does it help?
or
if you have changed Wi-Fi password, then you can probably try clicking the tiny blue arrow beside the network on your Wi-Fi screen,
"Forget this network"
Re enter the password

  • 21" Imac suddenly stopped finding the wireless mouse (with new batteries)

Despite my changing the batteries in the wireless mouse, and despite the fact that the Bluetooth is working with my wireless keyboard, I can't get the IMac to recognise and connect with the wireless mouse. Any ideas?

    Hi Steve,
I just started having the same problem with my mouse. First it started not waking the computer. Today even the space bar wouldn't wake the computer. But I'm more concerned with reconnecting with the mouse. How did you delete the mouse in the Bluetooth devices list? I can't seem to delete it. Is it because I have a USB mouse plugged in until I fix the wireless one? I doubt that has anything to do with it. It sounds like your fix worked, but I can't delete the mouse. Help! Jeri

With no apparent cause, BlackBerry Desktop 6.0.2 will not run on my machine any more; I get the standard Windows error dialog, "BlackBerry Desktop Software has stopped working"; the OS appears to search for a solution, but after 1-2 seconds, the dialog disappears.  The full error log:

  • My hp pavilion desktop has stopped accepting my password.

I have been using the same password on my HP Pavilion a6140 since I bought it 5 years ago. Yesterday afternoon as soon as I typed the 5th letter of the password, it took me back to the log-on button. It was OK this morning - I got in as normal with my password. But on several attempts to log on this afternoon and despite shutting the PC off and on, the problem has re-occurred each time I enter the 5th letter. I currently have no access to my files etc.
I can get in via the 'guest' button but it will not allow me to switch user. Nor can I get into any settings changes because it prompts me for the administrator password. I am the administrator and as of now it will not accept my password. I do not recall ever being asked to create a password backup disk. I do have the original recovery disks.
Yesterday morning I had a sudden interruption while writing an email - some nonsense characters appeared on the email and Windows Media Player opened (I do not use WMP). It might have been a virus. If so, scans today by Norton and  Malwarebytes have failed to detect it.
I use an HP PS/2 keyboard, which my PC tells me is working properly. Numbers and other keyboard locks are off.
UPDATE: While writing this message on a notebook computer, I noticed my PC had frozen. I could turn it off only at the electric socket. On turning it back on, it has accepted my password..... Any ideas?!  Thanks.

I was in ther middle of replying yesterday telling you I had successfully logged in twice more, when it happened again.  Words I had been writing became nonsense characters and a pop-up for Windows Media Player appeared.
I did a system restore to a point 3 days before the problem first appeared. When I tried to log in afterwards, I entered the 5th letter of my password and it did not allow me to go further. It took me back to the log-in icons. Exactly as before. Then I did a full scan on Malwarebytes, which found nothing. Still the same result when trying to log in.
No change this morning. I find I can get in via the (non-password-protected) guest icon but on trying to access my gmail, I find the 12th letter takes me back to the Google home screen, with nonsense letters on the search line. I can get into another Google account, with a different password.
The 5th & 12th letters are the same, a "w". A keyboard malfunction? However a Control Panel check (Windows Vista) tells me the keyboard is working properly. The problem appears also to be intermittent. And it seems odd that pressing the w could have these effects, including nonsense characters and opening Windows Media Player.
I am grateful for your help. Further thoughts please!

  • Right Click in TB has stopped working

Lately the Right Click on Mouse has stopped working

Right click on mouse usually opens a drop down list of options.
If this is not occuring, then firstly check your mouse.
Right click on your desktop to see if it opens a drop down box allowing you to eg: create a new folder.
If you are left handed, then you may have set this up in your mouse configuations to use the opposite. So first make sure the mouse has not been swapped for a left handed person.
Settings will be via Control Panel > Mouse
If you need to use some keyboard commands because of mouse failure, then read some info here:

  • HID DATA has stopped working

I have a 15 month old HDX16 laptop running Vista 64 bit. I've just bought Microsoft bluetooth 5000 mouse, having seen favourable reviews for it. Connected fine to the bluetooth, but at the same time I got message HID DATA has stopped working. The mouse continues to work fine during the current session, but needs reconnecting when the laptop is restarted rather than just being able to turn it on and use straight away. Does anyone know a fix for the 64bit OS? Elsewhere in google it seems to be a known problem, but no obvious fix? What is it with MS products on HP? Last year it was the Intellitype s/w that conflicted with the media strip causing Excel to launch; now this. Very frustrating.

Have now tried the sim in a C6-01 and there were no problems al at all with data connection. So now I'm guessing that there's a problem with the APN for this sim in the Lumia. Unfortunately the Network Setup app runs ok but is not fixing the problem.
If I reset the phone to clear the APNs, should I reset it with the sim in or out?
Also, on the subject of resetting, my problem seems to be the same as the one detailed here:
    /t5/Nokia-with-Windows-Phone/APN-configuration-problem-Lumia-800/m-p/1232545/highlight/true#M1713
...but in their case resetting did not fix the problem.
Please please, anybody know what's going on here and now to fix it?  Surely sombody from Nokia must understand what is going on?
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Apple Wireless Mouse has suddenly stopped pairing

    HI everyone,
My Apple Wireless mouse (it's pretty old) has just stopped pairing with my PowerBook G4. When I try to pair it, it shows onscreen that the pairing is succesful and I have a full battery bar, but the mouse itself stops "flashing" and when I try to move it, I get the "Connection Lost" message.
Changed fresh batteries, no new devices in house, disconnected all USB cables. Basically tried all the things recommended in other posts with no luck. (There's a post recommending to check the antenna...erm, I have no idea where an antenna might be...if anyone would be so kind ?)
Just wanted to know if there are any solutions or is it time to get a new mouse. Oh yes, mouse model number A1015 if that helps at all?
    Thanks!

    Hello shaz:
You have tried the things I would suggest. You might take the mouse to an Apple store to see if it works on another computer.

  • Pro L10: After using a wireless mouse, the touch pad has stopped working

Pro L10. After using a wireless mouse, the built in touch pad has stopped working properly. On start up the touch pad icon shows and the touch pad operates intermittently, after a few minuets the icon disappears and the touch pad stops functioning. In the control panel/mouse & or device drive I can the program operating and then disappears.
I have removed the software and reinstalled to no avail. On occasions I get a message to say that another pointer is in operation.
    Can you help?

    Hi
It seems that the wireless mouse or the wireless mouse drivers/software has a bad influence on the touchpad.
I dont have a proper solution for this issue. Well, you can check the Toshiba driver page for newest driver updates. If the updates doesnt solve this issue so I suggest to use either the wireless mouse and disable the touchpad with the key combination FN+F9 or to use a common USB mouse.
I assume that you dont have any problems with a common USB mouse.

  • Is my airport broken? My wireless has stopped all of a sudden! No solution works!

hi, I need help please. After working fine for years my wireless connection on my desktop which is on snow leoperd 10.6.8 has stopped connecting all of a sudden. It works fine on my macbook pro and my iphone. When I turn it on I get none of your preffered networks available, I find my network and when I type in the password for my network I get connection timeout. In diagnostics I have.....
    Airport failed
    Airport settings failed
    Network setting failed
It has connected a couple of times randomly but goes off when I try to load a page,
I have tried loads of solutions from forums like....
deleting networks and creating a new one
changing channels and even tried deleting the system preference files from the library but still no joy.
I just want to ask for any other solutions before I have to take it 50 miles to the nearest 'genius centre' to get it looked at.
    Could my airport be broken?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working

Blackberry Torch 9850 on the Verizon Wireless Network
    Blackberry OS: 7.1 Bundle 1737 (v 7.1.0.580, Platform 5.1.0.429)
Windows 7 Home Premium, SP11 with an full admin account
    HP Desktop computer
For some unknown reason whenever I attempt to execute Blackberry Desktop Software version 7.1 the application returns the following error: "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working: A problem caused the program and notify you if a solution is available." The last successful use of DM was on Sunday, October 7, 2012 when I synched my phone and did a backup of the device.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the application; uninstalled Microsoft .Net Framework version 3.5 and 4.0 then re-installed .Net Framework; then re-installed DM under a new admin account and still getting the same problem. I even went as far as uninstalling Office and re-installing office and still getting the same problem. Whenever I uninstalled DM I did a manual uninstall where I removed all registry keys associated with Research in Motion including folders and still getting the same problem. I Googled the error and the articles worth reading I have already the things they mentioned.
NOTE: I have done a lot more troubleshooting that is listed. But since I did so much to get this to work it will take me an entire novel to list all the things I have done to get this app to work again.
Called VZW and they got me in contact with RIM. RIM did pretty much the same things I did and after spending 7 hours on the phone with them they concluded I need to reformat my drive. When the tech made that suggested I wanted to reach thru the phone and knock her teach out of her mouth. Suffice to say I am not able to get DM to work on my machine and there appears to be no apparent reason why the software will stop working. Not have DM work means I cannot synch my phone. I have one personal computer and I am not going to install DM on my laptop because it will do me no good since I need to synch it with Outlook which is on my personal desktop. I cannot install my personal copy of office on my work laptop because it will probably cause other issues.
Anyone have any suggestions how I can get this application working on my desktop. It was working before and all of a sudden it stopped  working

  • Wireless mouse intermittently drops out/stops working

I have just bought a Mac Mini. I'm not a fan of Apple keyboards or mice, so I've bought a third party keyboard and I'm using a mouse that I already had (Microsoft Wireless Mouse 1000). Whilst it works fine with my Macbook Pro and PC, with the mini I get drop outs in the form of jerky movement and occassionally stopping long enough to see it just isn't moving. The mini works fine with a wired mouse.
My gut feeling from playing around with the different mice and computers is that it is actually the aluminium case shielding the signal from the mouse (as both are on the desktop and the mini sits at the back of the desk with the USB ports on the back and a great chunk of aluminium therefore in front of it.
I have a USB hub built in to the monitor, but that seems to have the same problem - the USB ports are behind the panel and associated electronics. Sadly, my keyboard (Ducky Zero DK2108) doesn't have a hub built in, so I can't connect the dongle to that either.
I'm just surprised I haven't seen (after a lot of googling) other complaints about the same. I may have to reluctantly buy a Bluetooth mouse as the BT antenna is of course outside of the Alu case. An alternative may be to use a small USB hub that can be positioned with line-of-sight to the mouse. It seems absurd I would have to do either of those things.
Can anyone else comment on their experiences?
    Thanks!

  • Wireless mouse won't open desktop folders

I have a new wireless mouse and a MacBookPro-also new. Am running OS 10.4.10. My wireless mouse functions in every way but will not open folders that are on my desktop with a double-click. The folder is highlighted but doesn't open. This problem has just begun. The batteries are good.

The difference is that the desktop folder open requires a double click, the rest of the functions you describe are all single clicks. Check System Preferences > Mouse > Double-click slider > make sure it's not to fast, slow it to 1/2 to 3/4.
This setting determines the time between clicks to determine if a double click has occured.
