My desktop Manager font's was turned "boxes"

hallo guys.....anyone can help me?
my desktop Manager font's was turned "boxes"
I have remove it and reinstall, but its not working....and all the font turned "boxes" .

I have helped others with this before. It is usually due to Desktop Manager requiring a font you do not have installed on your computer.

  • Desktop Manager connection help needed

I have a new macbook running Snow Leopard and a Blackberry 9700 Bold running the RIM 5.0 software.
When I first got this Mac, I downloaded and installed desktop manager, and had no problems syncing my address book and calendar with the mac address book and calendar.
A few days ago I was attempting to clear the cache on Google Maps on my Bold, and it triggered JVM 102. I was unable to reload the apps from the mac, so I used my old PC and did a successful application loader. (formally worked in bb support doing this all day long, so i'm fairly certain this didnt cause the issue).
After this point, I can still sync with the PC with no problems, but the Mac will not connect to the device.
    What happens is:
    - Desktop manager begins "connecting to device"
    - device asks if i want to turn on mass storage (selecting yes or no makes no difference)
    - mac gains access to blackberry media card for a moment
    - device gets solid red light, and reboots
    - desktop manager says "waiting for device to restart"
    - when device finishes booting, desktop manager says it was unable to connect
    - mac gives errors about not ejecting properly
    - bold reboots again
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop manager
I tried using pocketmac but i refuse to pay them 4.99 for the "free download" accellerator
I tried missing sync but the trial/beta is invalid and they want me to buy the full program
I went into library/preferences and deleted all blackberry/rim related files, as well as searched entire mac for any blackberry/rim/research in motion files and deleted them, restarted the mac, and reinstalled DM, still having same issue
Connected back to PC again, still able to sync with no problems
Please help or let me know if there is any other information needed to try and help!!

  • Desktop manager and Desktop Software

Is there a differnce bewteen desktop manager and desktop software?  I'm trying to find  a link to download desktop manager.  I was told by t-mobile tech support to run application loader and I need desktop manager in order to run that application.  The reason why i need to run the application is that my firewall setting is enable with the 'lock' icon and it's preventing me from running applications that need to connect to the internet.  I was told that running application loader would remove the lock icon so I can disable the firewall setting.
    Thank you,
    New BB user.

OK...so those instructions are...well...dated...they indeed are for the full Desktop Software. Basically they have advised you to update your BB OS to the latest version in the hopes that the lock on the firewall will be removed. They did discuss the backup, but I actually prefer to take a manual backup first, then let the automatic one go, but I still have that manual one just in case.
I can't see what any of those jpg's are, so I'm not sure exactly what they are saying.
Anyway, there are other possible causes, but it's not necessarily wrong to follow those steps...it's just that they may or may not work...and before you ask, it's impossible to tell you, at an internet distance, anything at 100%.
If you prefer, here's a different method to update your OS:
From a PC, you can install any OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure. You will also first want a clean and complete list of all of your add-on apps, including the source of them and activation keys.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

  • New Desktop Manager is Synching All My Calendars .. please make it stop

I am self employed.  I have a lot of personal reminders on my handheld deviice and up until this current desktop manager version, I was able to only sync my default calendar which was my business one.
Now, with this new version, it seems to be synching, BBM, facebook, all 4 of my organizers and has made a congested mess of everything.
Is there a way to only sync one organizer, that is my DEFAULT organizer with outlook 7 using the new destop software?
I really appreciate any assistance provided.
    Frank

    Hi DrFever,
The BlackBerry® Desktop Software synchronizing all calendars on the BlackBerry® smartphone and not the default calendar only is by design in BlackBerry® 7 and cannot be modified. Please see the following KB article. "All calendars on the BlackBerry smartphone synchronize to Outlook using BlackBerry Desktop Software" http://bbry.lv/PsyIMO

  • BLACKBERRY TORCH - won't turn on and desktop manager won't recognise it - I can't get my contacts

    Hi all,
I'm new to this so please bare with me.
I'll try and be as brief as possible. Up until last week I had the Blackberry Torch 9800. I was due an upgrade and about two days before I went to contact my network provider my Torch battery died (it wasn't broken at this point, it just was drained and needed charged) so I went to charge it and it did that thing where the battery was so dead it wouldn't even switch on whilst charging.
I plugged it in and rather than charge like normal it was completely dead and the only activity it offered me was two red flashing lights as it 'charged'. From that moment on it has not turned on. Dead as can be. If I plug to charge (wall charger OR USB port) I get the two bright red flashing notification lights but it will not go on.
Anyway rather than send it to be repaired I opted for a new phone as I was due an upgrade anyway and intended on doing so whether the Torch was alive and kicking at this point or not. Cut a long story short I got my new blackberry (9360 curve) it is all set up with my e-mail etc, media card and same sim card swapped over but as Blackberry insist on your contact numbers being saved to the handset and not the sim my contacts are stuck in my Torch 9800.
When I go to plug the Torch in to Desktop manager to get the contacts saved to there and then sync over to my new handset the Torch is so dead that DManager won't even read/recognise it. My network say since this is not an issue with network etc they can't really help and gave me a number for Blackberry services in England somewhere (they are office hrs so can't phone until Monday morning).
Please can someone help? I have my new 9360 all up and running but my contacts are stuck in my Torch and that is the only place they are? DManager won't recognise the Torch because it is dead - except the two flashing lights - and therefore won't let me at the contacts that way.
ANY help would be appreciated - please not too techinal as not great with all of that side of things!
    Sorry for the long post.

  • 8300 won't turn on after desktop manager problems

I tried to install the Blackberry Desktop manager here and during installation my usb connection became undone between the computer and the phone.  I was able to make it halfway through setup to where I have an IPD file of my backup information.  I just need to get pointed in the right direction to get this resolved so I can start up the phone and get the backup information restored.
Thanks for any and all help

Hi and welcome to the forums!
If you were installing the desktop software and the phone was connected to the USB:
Pull the battery wait a minute and replace the battery, see if it reboots.
If you were installing DEVICE OS software and the phone died you will have to reload the OS.
Let us know exactly what you were installing, OK?

  • Why was nVidia nView Desktop Manager Removed?

I recently used Windows Update to upgrade the video driver for my nVidia Quadro FX 880M graphics card for my Thinkpad W510 (Windows 7, 64-bit) . The new version is 9.18.13.1100, which is the same version listed as current at the Lenovo web site. However, the release history for the video driver includes this:
    <8.17.12.5738 / 1.0.15.0>
     - [Important]
Removed nView Desktop Manager application from this package. Refer to
the Notes section for more information.
    The notes say:
    - nView Desktop Manager application was removed from this package. In order to
remove the application from your computer, it has to be manually uninstalled.
It is recommended to remove the application before updating to this driver.
I have nView Desktop Manager version 136.53 installed on my machine. It seems to be working fine, but I'm concerned that there may be issues I don't know about. Does anybody have any insight into why nView DM was removed from the video driver distribution some versions back? Should I remove nView DM, or should I keep it installed and hope for the best?  It has some features I find useful on my multiple-monitor display setup.
    Thanks.

NView DM also interferes (somewhat) with my Habu mouse.

  • How do I remove Desktop Manager from loading every time I turn on my PC?

Desktop Manager loads every time I turn on my PC.  How do I make that stop?  I only want Desktop Manager to load when I plug in my BB to do a backup/restore, etc.  I use Windows 7.

    Hello wvusuperfan,
Open the Desktop Software, select the Tools menu and go to General tab and make sure the "Start BlackBerry Desktop Software when a device is connected" options is unchecked.
Press OK  and close the application.

  • Desktop Manager Will not Load. Hangs on splash screen when loading, then crashes

My desktop manager is not loading, and hangs whenever it is attempted to load. I have done a clean uninstall, removed rim registry entries, and did a fresh download and install 3 times with full shut downs between each attempt. I am running Windows 7 service pack 1 with an HP Laptop. It is an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. Product Number LY080UA. I hope that is enough information, but I will give more if asked and informed how to gather such info.
When I right click on the Desktop Manager Icon, I choose to run as Admin. Once it loads the splash screen shows. After a little bit (4-6 seconds) a small Icon appears in my systems tab at the bottom right of my screen. This stays for a little while and then goes away. After this happens the Splash screen hangs, and get a black border around it. If I click on the Splash screen it grey out and says not responding, prompting windows to ask me if I want to wait for the program or close. If I choose to wait, it will sit there and do nothing. If I close it will prompt windows to "look for an error" but has not yet been able to return an answer.
When I log into safe mode, Desktop Manager loads, but does not work well as only a bare bones set of drivers are enabled. If I turn off all but the non-essential services off using services.msc it will load, but again the services needed for it to run and the services for windows to be fully functional are not on at all.
I have attempted to turn off all but the Desktop manager in the start up, using msconfig, but that does not help either.
I am at my wits end here, and would really like some help with this. It loads up (desktop manager) on my Desktop, but I am unable to log that mammoth box around with me while I travel.
Thank you for your time and efforts, I will be very grateful for any and all help.

I'm having the exact same problem here! I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Please help! This was posted a month ago.

  • Desktop Manager Greyed Out & Inaccessible

This is a new problem with Desktop manager as I previously had access to it. When I plug my Blacbkberry in and start up Desktop Manager, the full BB Desktop Manager window greys out (inaccessible). The title bar is showing as connected, the server staus (at bottom of BB Desktop Manager window) is online, the actuve device is detected and my Blackberry PIN is shown is the connected device. However, since the entire Desktop Manager box is greyed out, I do not have access to any of the buttons, such as synchronize. When the Blackberry is disconnected from my computer, then I can access the buttons (i.e., the greyed out area is normal again). I followed the Blackberry Trouble Shooting guide online for when the synchronize now button is not available, including uninstalling and reinstalling the software and turning off the antivirus software. I also did all updates for Windows. I'm running Windows 98. Any suggestions? What causes this?

I am also experiencing a very similar situation.  I have a Rogers 8310 Curve that syncs to my Win XP Pro laptop using CompanionLink to sync to my Goldmine CRM.    I have the original Blackberry Desktop Manager Ver 4.2.0.15 installed.  Up until this afternoon, the synchronization has worked perfectly ... never a problem.
During a Sync today, I inadvertandantly unplugged my Curve from the USB cable (forgetting that it was in the middle of a sync).  When I plugged the Blacbkberry back in and start the Desktop Manager, the full BB Desktop Manager window greys out (inaccessible). This is the exact same thing as described below:
The title bar is showing as connected, the server staus (at bottom of BB Desktop Manager window) is online, the actuve device is detected and my Blackberry PIN is shown is the connected device. However, since the entire Desktop Manager box is greyed out, I do not have access to any of the buttons, such as synchronize. When the Blackberry is disconnected from my computer, then I can access the buttons (i.e., the greyed out area is normal again).
So, before I go on a fishing expeditition, I'd like to confirm the best course of action.   I have a couple of questions:
    1) Should I uninstall the Desktop Manager as per the recommendation below?
    2) Should any other BB components be removed?
    3) When reinstalling, should I use Blackberry DM 4.3 again or would this be the time to update the Desktop Manager Software?
    4) If I should update the softward, which upgrade version of Desktop Manager can I safely use with this device?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Torch App Error 606 + Can't connect to desktop Manager

    Hi,
I was backing up my blackberry torch last night and the connection was disconnected during the backup. When the phone restarted the message "App Error 606" / "Reset" came up. I can't do anything on my phone except for reset it, and pulling the battery does nothing.
When I try to connect it to blackberry desktop software it wont connect... I left it for an hour and it still just said that it was connecting.
I also tried connecting to BBSAK and it couldn't connect there either, so I can't reset it to factory settings. I checked the desktop manager and it recognizes the USB port as connected to a blackberry device but that is about as close as I can get to connecting to anything.
I have a backup of all of my information from before this happened so I don't mind completely resetting my phone, but I have no idea how to do this without being able to:
    a) connect it to the computer
    b) do anything except reset on the phone
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks,
    Mike

Try in Safe mode, remove last installed 3-th-party appliction, may be it's help you?
    Safe mode:
When starting the BlackBerry smartphone, safe mode can be used to prevent third-party applications from running automatically. Safe mode is designed to allow troubleshooting or remove any unwanted applications.
To turn on safe mode, complete the following steps:
Remove and reinsert the BlackBerry smartphone battery.
When the red light-emitting diode (LED) light goes out, press and hold the Escape key as the BlackBerry smartphone is loading. See KB05470 for the location of the Escape key. (The Escape key is located on the right side of the trackball, above the keyboard on the BlackBerry smartphone.Use the Escape key to exit a screen, move back a page in the browser, close a message, or close a menu.)
When the dialog box appears, click OK.
Note: Safe mode is indicated by a safe mode indicator in the BlackBerry smartphone status section of the Home screen.

  • Error with Desktop Manager synchronization - won't let me set up synch settings

I have a new PC laptop and want to set it up to synch with my old Blackberry 8310 Curve just like it used to do with the old laptop.
I downloaded the latest Desktop Manager software (version 6.0.0.40) and am trying to set up the synchronization settings, but am not able to.  I called Microsoft to see if there was any problem (I'm using Office 2010), and they said I'd need to talk to Blackberry.
    Here's what's happening:
I connect my Blackberry to my PC laptop.
    I open Desktop Manger 6.0.0.40.
I choose "Organizer" from the left-hand menu, and then "Configure settings."
I get a setup pop-up window that asks me to configure Calendar, Tasks, etc. in turn by checking the box.
I check a box, for example "Calendar Setup" and choose Outlook from the list of programs.
I click "next" and then choose "two-way sync."
I click "next" and get a pop-up error message with title "Intellisync" that reads:  "The operation terminated unexpectedly."
This happens for every type of content I check (calendar, tasks, address book....).
Can anyone shed some light on this?  I'm anxious to get my Outlook useful again and to have my data synching back and forth!
    Thank you in advance!
    Solved!

    Hey elizabethdw,
    Thanks for the reply.
To fix this issue, attempt to do a detect and repair in Microsoft Outlook.  Which is done under Help>Office Diagnostics.
Save your PST information just to cautious!!!  To do this: File>Import and Export>Export to a File>Personal Folder File, then save this file to somewheres where you can find it.
If that does not resolve the issue, perform a clean uninstall of Microsoft Office, and re-install only the full version, restart the computer afterwards, and then attempt to setup the synchronization.
I look forward to your reply.

  • Desktop Manager App

I just updated Cloud and I looked in my App folder on my iMac and couldn't find the Desktop Manager app.
    See below:
The Creative Cloud desktop manager app detects and downloads updates, automatically. Uncheck the box to turn it off. (Applies to only the Desktop Manager app.)
    Question:
Where would it be?  It wasn't in the Adobe folder nor in my App folder.
If it isn't anywhere on my computer, how can I get it?   I am running PS CC 2014, 2.2 on iMac OS 10.9.5.

    606ylt wrote:
It was always black on the menu bar.
If that’s the answer, then why did that update state:  “if Desktop Manager.App is installed”?
I did not see that update and what they probably meant was "we don't know if you have it installed, only you know that."
Anyhow, if it IS installed, then I thank you for all your time helping me out.
It is. the App is in the proper location in your Application folder, and is active in the Menu bar.
    That is all you need.

  • Multiple Email Accounts on Desktop Manager?

Are there any plans to add functionality to the desktop manager to manage all of the email accounts in my phone? I have some accounts that aren't in outlook that only need to be sent to my phone, and I was wondering if you can manage multiple accounts, can you manage accounts that aren't in outlook. I had to use the email site to setup my accounts to begin with which is fine, but if I have to fine tune things, I don't always want to have to sign into it.

apart from BES users (= Corporate BlackBerry), the Desktop Manager does not deal with emails except for making backups.
Your device can get up to 9 email addresses, you just have to configure that by going on the BIS website of your carrier.
