My disc reader/burner doesn't work, the disc gets ejected

Hello, I am trying to burn a movie created in imovie and exported to iDVD burned onto a DVD, but I just realized the burner is not working. It makes some reading noises and it ejects the discs. I have rebooted the computer, tried different discs, tried to put music disc and nothig. I am not sure if it is a problem with my machine and if I should take it to apple. At the same time, I really need this project burned so I put the iDVD project into my portable drive and inserted into a mac book to see if I could burn it there, but it says that the file is incomplete... Now I will try to create a disc image and see if the would work transfering it into a portable device and into another computer..
I would appreciate so much your guidance I am lost! Thank you

Hi, the DMG is a great idea to try.
On the iMac, you might try one of those head cleaning Discs, or...
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

The response above is only a speculative answer to the original question. DSI-Hal, did you try to flatten the text in Bluebeam Revu prior to opening it in Adobe. This has worked for me on several different documents but not sure if we are using the same version of Adobe Reader.

i use to work as an technician engineer in a phone shop still have access to warehouse with replacement parts.

Try a cleaning disc. You can get them at places like Radio Shack.
If nothing helps your optical drive has probably failed. You can replace it or purchase an inexpensive external drive. Don't buy the Apple SuperDrive as it won't work with macs that have a built in drive.

You need to do more research before you make purchases like this. You've wasted your money. The ONLY officially unlocked iPhone model sold in the US is the GSM model, and that model is only sold by Apple. That's the model iPhone you should have purchased.

Go to your computer's System Tray and try ejecting. If you can't eject, there is an application that is trying to access your iPod.

Note that this is a good, general process any time you can't access any file.
In my case an update to RealPlayer installed a program called RecordingManager that was accessing my iPod.

Deleting the correupted back up means to delete the information of one month since the last back up I made is one month ago.....right?
This back up I made right before I restored my iphone. During the restore however my OS was upgraded to 5.1.1. and reading the comments on the internet it seems I am not the only one whom experience this problem.
Can it be that if I downgrade my OS back to 5.1. the back up will not be considered as corrupted? If so, how do I downgrade the iphone?
