My disk drive doesnt work, what can i do?
It wont read cd's or dvd's, is there anything i can do to fix it? or will i have to take it to apple and get them to repair it?

CD/DVDDrive Cleaning
You could purchase a CD/DVD drive cleaning kit, or you can try with materials you may already have on hand. Use a credit card, or something similar, and wrap it with an LCD cleaning cloth type product (basically a thin micro-fiber type cloth). Gently slide the "cleaner" in and out a few times in the left side of the optical drive opening. Make sure you can hold onto the cloth so it doesn't get stuck inside the drive. This cleans the lens, which may be all you need.
For temporary use, try holding the MBPupside down. If there's a gap between the disc and the lens even a tiny bit larger than it should be, holding everything upside down may bring the disc close enough for the lens to read it.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -

ive recently got a new laptop but everytime i install itunes the disk drive doesnt work.
when itunes is installed it doesnt recognise that i am putting disks in.
its really annoying, im stuck with the same songs old songs on my ipod!

My camara app is not woking after ios5
Try closing the Camera app completely and then see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Camera 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

I have an old G4, which although is not my main computer, I still use. The issue is the disk drive doesnt work. I can insert a disk fine, but it never makes the whirring sound of a disk being loaded and no disk ever pops up on the screen. I am hoping to find a way to fix this that does not involve a professional repair, as they are expensive and this computer is 4 years outside of the warranty. Is there a utility that will diagnose the problem? Any other suggestions?
Well that's a start at least the iMac knows it has a drive.
Do the same symptoms appear for music CDs, DVD-ROMs, DVD Videos etc etc.
Have you checked that in menu > System Preferences... > CDs & DVDs > that you aren't set to "ignore" CDs and DVDs.
In the Finder Finder menu > Preferences > General do you have CDs and DVDs set to appear on the desktop?

... Maybe someone can tell me how. ThanksTime to take your disc and your computer to an Apple Store or an AASP, I'm afraid. They should be able to reinstall the OS, etc. Have no idea what they would charge but I'm sure that it would not be too expensive.

Disk Drive not working - Error Code 19
I have a recently purchased HP Pavilion Notebook, with Windows 8.1, and today my Disk Drive stopped working.
