My display doesn't fit on my screen

I can't see both sides of my screen display, thus I can't access the back button on the left and the scroll on the right at the same time.  How can a iadjust the setting to do so?

Sorry, I have an iMac with a 24" screen. My resolution is set to the maximum, but as I look at this page, I can see the scroll bar on the right, but I can't see the back button at the top left.  I am not computer savvy enough to know if there is some sort of command button to remedy this, so I have to move the whole display back and forth, which. when doing searches, is a real hassle.
When I go on Google searches, about this problem, I find a lot of people describingthe same problem, but maybe we're not using the correct terminolgy to express it.  I would just like to be able to see the scroll bar and the back button on the screen at the same time.

  • Display doesn't fit screen

I just bought a new MacBook 13 and transferred everything from my MacBook Pro 15" using Migration Assistant.
So many things in the display don't fit the screen area. I've looked all over for a way to adjust this in "preferences" but see nothing. Even email is half hidden.

Are you sure that this isn't a one-off migration problem, with applications remembering their window size from your old, bigger, screen? You can test this by moving the window so you can see the bottom-right corner, then dragging this to resize the window so it fits the screen. If the application subsequently works OK then that's your answer.
I think that you can also test this theory by clicking the green + icon on the window (top left). If that 'corrects' the window then again I think it means that the window just has a remembered size that's bigger than your new screen.
    Best of luck.

  • HT204291 When I airplay my ipad, it doesn't fit the tv screen

I have ipad air and using toshiba tv. When I mirror the image to the tv screen, it doesn't "fit to screen". Are other people having this problem?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Mirroring won't fill the TV screen. The iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and the iPhone 4S or prior an aspect ratio of 3:2, neither of these will fit exactly into a TV screen which as an aspect ratio of 16:9. The Apple TV will not zoom the mirrored image, because it may well cut off information which is situated at the top or bottom of the screen.
You may wish to try each of the settings in ‘Settings > Audio & Video > Adjust for AirPlay overscan’ for the best setting that suits you.

  • Bizarre-Screenview suddenly larger than display, doesn't fit

I was working in FCPX, I thot I'd hit control+V, when suddenly the screenview is magnified and doesn't fit on my MBPro's display. By moving the cursor to the edges I can make the screenview move to the edges and see everything but why is it suddenly magnified. I tried using fn+F keys to see if I'd hit something by mistake but can't figure it out. ***! So bizarre. Any ideas?

    Hello gggffff,
This can be done by choosing 'Zoom' under the Window menu in the menu bar.
This solved my question by VikingOSX  on Oct 17, 2012 10:57 AM
    Window > Zoom.
Command and + key will zoom in.
Command and - key will zoom out.
For applications that support trackpad zoom, enable Zoom in or out in Trackpad Scroll & Zoom prefs.
See video at System Preferences > Trackpad > Scroll & Zoom. Hover pointer over Zoom in or Out.

  • Display doesn't fit screen now. Black bar an inch wide on right side of screen on Satellite L655

The right side of my screen has a blacdk bar about an inch wid.  It is like the display ends an inch before it actaully does on the right hand side.  Also the taskbar is below the bottong of my screen and I cannot see it.  I have tried to adjust the screen resolution and every other option the control panel offers but nothing changes it.  The last time I had my laptop on it was fine.  I turned it on yesterday and have had it shut down and restarted multiple times and every time since yesterday afternoon the screen is showing wrong.   How do I fix this issue?

I know this is an old thread, but hopefully you'll get my message.  Did you ever sresolve this problem?  I have exactly the same issue. Thanks, Kevin

  • My desktop doesn't fit on my screen

My desktop and any software screens will not fit on my MacBook computer monitor anymore. Mousing to the edges of the screen will cause it to slide into view while the other edges slide out of view. I've tried changing to different screen resolutions but it doesn't fix the problem. Any suggestion would be be very appreciated.
    Thank you.

Hold down the Control-key and use your Mouse/Trackpad to scroll down at the same time.
Go to System Prfeferences the Universal Access and disable the "Zoom"-feature.
Zoom can come up when you used the Control-key plus Mouse/trackpad-scroll up.
The Zoom feature itself is enabled/disabled by Alt-Command-8
When enabled: Alt-Command-= zooms in and Alt-Command- - zooms out.

  • [SOLVED]xorg.conf, my screen doesn't fit on my screen

Hi, I've got everything set up & working well except for my screen. The desktop is too big for the monitor, about a third of it is hidden off the monitor to the bottom right. I've looked at the wiki and tried xrandr, but no dice. I'm using the VESA driver which has always worked ok in other distros. Actually the crunchbang splashscreen was like this, but otherwise it was normal. I tried the openchrome driver, got a blank screen. Searched other BBS too. I don't know the term for this problem to search for. The drivers off the VIA site are for older kernels, I'd rather just get it working with VESA, with a 1Ghz CPU I don't see myself doing much in 3D anyway.

The display has a slight gap on the top edge and the glass itself is shifted a bit left so it's can't fit flush to frame.  I think over time dust will get in there and be a problem.  Has anyone ever had this happen and can it be fixed?

The iTunes interface is too large for my Samsung screen. There is no menu bar at the top. What must I do to make it fit?

If your Windows taskbar is set to "use small icons", this may cause the problem.
Unselect "use small icons", and then use iTunes and it will be fine. Interestingly, if you then go back and enable "use small icons", iTunes will still be fine even after reboot.
    Good luck!
